That is what I thought it was, 1 per packet. They do have a kick though. When I do a mock danish I use two. I know my bad on that! But, it tastes like scambled eggs to me otherwise. The shrimp dip, I was not sure how many to use to make the mustard sweet! DH taste tested and approved. But, need to tweek the recipe if I am going to use it more often.

I do not drink coffee so cutting caffine in soda was easy. But, like you that sweet tooth is a tuff one! I am feeling extra naughty with PMS... like eating a box of thinmints! akkkkkkkk

Some need to lose a little. Some have lost over 100 pounds and are struggling close to goal. We support, challenge, motivate, congratulate, inspire, encourage, share ideas and give tough love when needed. We don't condemn, preach, or belittle, but we also don't enable or condone. We are mostly positive and "up", but if you are down, it's encouraged to come here and spill your guts or vent, and we will get you back "up" and over the hump. If you disappear and stay gone for a while, we will hunt you down and drag you back, kicking and screaming if necessary, but we don't let sisters go without a fight (right, Marty?).

We are the Derby Girls and we are going to try to get on Oprah after we get to goal. Right now, some of the long-time Derby Girls are in the second month of a personal exercise challenge. Most of us have health or physical problems that create problems with exercise, but we motivate each other to find some way to move your body, because exercise is non-negotiable. Most of us have found a way to considerably increase our exercise and do things we never thought possible.

You are more than welcome to join us, we'd love to have another Derby Girl sister. I am 58 and grew up the youngest of 11 children (mostly boys) and I never got to be big sister to anyone until, now and now I have all these little sisters, whom I truly love. I love their kids, too, so if you have any you gotta share!

        Sunny!

Thanks for replying Sunny, I really appreciate it. I will paste below my original post I made in a thread titled "A Note From Sherry" in the STAC Forum. I came in and spilled my guts. I am in Day 4 of re-induction and want to be part of the "Derby Girls"

        Please read below.

I don’t know where else to turn. I’m back at ADBB…the only place in my life I’ve ever had results and support in my life-long battle with weight loss.

Months have gone by since my last re-re-re-re-attempt at Atkins. I went through the many weeks including the holidays, eating out-of-control, eating and drinking many MANY calories.

I have gained back ALL of my “Atkins” lost weight plus some, I pay monthly to a gym that I haven’t seen since October, I cry myself to sleep every night.

In addition to my weight gain, my whole attitude and appearance has fallen victim. I haven’t dyed my hair in months, I have lots of grey hair, I don’t wear make-up anymore, I haven’t got my nails done, and wear my hair flat, like I just don’t care anymore. My body aches, I am tired constantly, I am so unhappy with myself. Actually, I am disgusted with myself.

I’ve even started seeing a psychiatrist to “assist” in determining my “triggers” for my binge eating. 3 months later and I’m still waiting for that magic answer.

I had my baby in July of 2006 at a doctors “estimated” weight of 370. The scale only went to 350. After delivery and post birth water loss, I ended up at around 335, which is when I started Atkins, October of 2006.

New Years through about February 2007, I got down to 298 lbs, at 5 foot 10 and having lost almost 40 lbs, I was so very happy, I was losing, had energy, buying new clothes, enjoying the compliments and kind words from people.

I then lost track, I don’t know ultimately what got a hold of me, I was just done. I found myself off Atkins and eating how I did in the past. July of 2007, my mom died, and I think since that point, is when I gave up, on the inside.

The thing is, is that no one would ever know this. I am married with 3 wonderful kids, I work full time, I am in my last two classes for my Bachelor’s in Management, we have a great social life and I would never let on to anyone in my family that I am an utter mess in my head EVERY single time I put something in my mouth.

I am confessing this to my ADBB “friends” maybe because I know you can’t see me as I hide behind my keyboard and monitor.

I know I have to do it myself and I have to make the choice.

I know I need help and support.

        Here I am.

Sherri - Welcome! We are all a bit off on our way, but we all know that we can get there! I think you sound like a very strong woman, maybe too strong, handling all that! Come here often, vent away, and I think that having someone to talk to will help!!! I'm glad you are here!!

Ketone- I tried to make that mock danish a few times, oh boy - what a disaster! Did it work like that for you to start?

Kass - never tried the salt water flush, I hear you need to be home! LOL I'd love to once, my friend has done it and said she feels so good afterwards!

Cat - your pictures are unbelieveable! Your daughter looks just like you! What a beautiful girl!!!

Prya - congrats on no cheating! It does get easier and there is so much that you can "cheat" on with in this WOE! LOL

I have to go to the next page to find out what else is up, it only gives me 10 posts???

Sunny, Marty, Sheri, Catherine, anyone else?? Here's to a Monday!

Had a great weekend, did my callenetics on Friday and Saturday, Sunday my upper ab, stomach area was sooooooo tight/hurt!!! I'm going for session 3 tonight! LOL Had a nice time with BF, he did some things for me around the house, we relaxed and talked about the wedding, what to do, where to have, more elegant and small or the typical reception etc... he said, you do what you want, I've done my part, you have the ring! HAHAHA! So now...where do I start? I know we want to have the wedding ceremony in the park, then we could do a reception in town? Our families are from different areas, where I live is in between both of them so I thought to have it where I live. The families would both then have 1-2 hours from each way... sound fair? Friends the same, from both areas so would we do family only elegant affair and then do a party party at the house another weekend? Oh boy, I have a headache... we are bit older so having the traditional reception - I don't know - I wouldn't want to do the wedding march etc - I'm 45!

Having salad with onions, green peppers, black olives and tuna for lunch - very tasty indeed!

Thanks for asking. She had a TIA ( transient ischemic attack/transient stroke) and her A-Type personality skinny butt is somewhere over-working or over-taking-care of "her people". That woman, who is 73 years young, goes from 4:00 a.m. to late at night like a house on fire.

She helps build Habitat houses, volunteers at the Food Pantry, is custodian at our humongous church, owns several rental houses, and she takes care of at least 5 families with money and health problems. She buys goods for, wraps, makes up and puts together 100 Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse International Relief. She has to donate $7 per box and that alone costs her $700 per year. That's up and above the cost of toys, school supplies and personal grooming items she puts in the wrapped shoebox. I do 5 boxes, and it takes a lot of effort and money.

I know that's TMI, but I get tired just thinking about all my friend does for people. She's an angel on Earth.

It's pretty warm today (53), but rainy. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the low 70's and rainy. We really need rain--we are still in a drought.

            Gabby Sunny!

              Hi DG's~

I'm having a tough time - I've hit the (almost) 2 month *despair* mark. Thank you to Sunny and Tracey for trying to cheer me up.

The weather here is just terrible. Intended to check out a new gym this afternoon but visability is down to less that .25 mile due to fog. Lynn, our postal carrier said she can barely keep her truck on the country roads due to the snow, ice, slush. And supposedly more snow on the way....

Cat! thank you for the photos of your beautiful girl - cheered me right up
Sherry - hope all goes well careening down the mountain today and that the dr. is suitably impressed with your fantastic progress
Kass - you still want that boatload of snow - am sending you a plane ticket, lol
Sunny - I think you must write your autobiography - living in the Keys - swoon
Marty - how was your weekend?
Kathy - I chuckle every time I see your mermaid outfit!
Dorothy - send some sunshine our way
Prya - a group to exercise with sounds so fun - good for you.
Becca - how goes it sweetie?
Lashon - your new photo looks so cute - kudos to you for letting go of your *cheat*...today's a new day, right?

did I miss anyone? I've got meno brain again today
              *****

Tracey - we got married in 1999 (I was 41(?)) - we had a church ceremony followed by a reception at home at the farm. Got the local grocery (HyVee) to cater - they grilled (they brought the grill and the guys) chicken and pork chops and brought all the sides and fixin's - plus all the paper goods - and did all the set up and clean up. We rented tables and a tent top...wish we'd gotten a band. Your idea to do it where you live now makes perfect sense. And even though you're an 'older' bride, I say do exactly what you want - elaborate or silly or simple...make it YOUR day - and oh, Reserve a Photographer TODAY! I planned ours in 6 weeks and our photography wasn't great. I'm sure I'll think of other stuff.

and Welcome to Sher801! Glad you're with us.

              Back to work for me

I am still not back in Ketosis and won't be for sure today because I had a bad eating day, which put me back to 0 days cheat free. Only to find myself in the following year still obese, yes OBESE and unhealthy, BUT NOT THIS YEAR. I am sticking with this WOE, not diet and I will see the benefits THIS YEAR! Thank you all so much for the support you provide for each other. It really does help. Have a blessed and wonderful week. I am not looking forward to my weigh-in tomorrow because of the cheat and TOM approaching. I am bloated already.

Kass have you done another SF (saltwater flush) lately? I may one day this week after work of course...lol

QUESTION: Can someone please share with me, what is the quickest way to get my body back in Ketosis? I was doing so good and headed that way I'm sure but I blew it today.

I know it is hard. Especially if TOM is lurking around the corner. Gather some legal treats and keep on hand. Cream cheese with Splenda got me through the earlier days. My theory is that if I'm craving bad to eat something legal even if it makes me stall (as long as I don't gain, I'm cool). Now, rebuke those cheating demons. Tell them to pack their bags and move on because a new Lashon is in town.

I know I have to do it myself and I have to make the choice.

I know I need help and support.

                        Here I am.
Welcome, Sherry! You are now an official Derby Girl. Help is here! I'm going to respond to your post, but it will take me a while. Don't go away!

Your story is a lot like mine, except it was my beautiful daughter that died three years ago and I had to give up a high-powered career and all my many side lines and hobbies when struck with a monster disorder called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy 10 years ago. I've now lost over 100 pounds and now am proud of how I dress once again and I do my hair and wear make-up any time I am out in public.

I will reply after a while. I have been cooking all day. I make old favorites low carb and try new stuff to keep from getting bored. I also bake regular stuff for the people in my life. Today, I baked chocolate mint chocolate chip cookies. Lucky I hate chocolate and mint!

                        Sunny!

                          Tracey
Thank you Tracey! Everyone calls her my mini me.

I think the arrangement for your wedding is very fair. I WANT pictures.

                            Back to work for me
You are welcome. I'm glad I was able to cheer you up (some). They keep changing our weather around. Today was 65 here. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50s and dropping from then on. Psycho weather.

Thank you Ms. Sunny. I appreciate that. I am back on track and have not eaten over 20 carbs today. Thank you also for the compliment on the picture. You ladies are GREAT! Of course I want to go on the Oprah show with you. I have never been and lived in the suburbs of Chicago for 11 years....go figure.
