    Hi DG's

A quick post from me too before the Storm blips out my power/isp. Welcome Lisa! I've thought of foregoing dairy but I guess I'm just not there yet. Sunny, my thoughts are with you as you gather your strength for the upcoming surgery.

Kass - I'm still waiting for you to come get this snow - prediction overnight is for 8-12 more inches...yep, tired of this already.

Its a major fight around here: Hormones vs. Mr. Scale....would like a knockout but it looks like we're going the whole 9 rounds. DH said my new size 18 jeans look "baggy" but he's been in the doghouse so I'm not sure of his motives .

alright - I skipped out of work at noon and went to vote then the hour drive to the *better* grocery. The ride back on Interstate 80 was pretty scary. Watched a guy sail down the entrance ramp, across 2 lanes of traffic (between swerving cars) and into the median - luckily he managed to stop and didn't roll. Its a bad one out there: rain, ice, sleet, snow and FOG pockets. sheesh.

be back later if I keep the power on.

Sunny dear....I hope that pain goes away soon. What day is the surgery?

CAt...MS. OOOONDERLAND, Where are you today? I hope you are not working to hard. It was so nice to see pics of Tashiana, she is truly adorable. Shall we begin planning the wedding for my future daughter in law? LOL

Catherine...yes, yes, yes...I want snow. I am hopefully going to Nevada on spring break in March or maybe as soon as this month. I want to see the snow so bad. There was a sheet of ice on my car again this morning. I hope you are not traumatized from the accident? I get freaked out when I see accidents because I have never been in one.

Sherri...they picked the right person for the journal hostess. I have read some of your comments and they are so encouraging. You know how to say things so eloquently.

      Marty/Glenda...HELLOOOOOOOO!! Where are you????!!!

Lashon...report how your are doing with cutting back on the splenda. Are you leaving those mints alone?

Tracy...you are working it out girl! My stomach and waist are problem areas. I am trying to work these out also.

Kathy....I hope you are in good spirits. You have done an awesome job thus far, keep up the good work.

Prya...how's that "sexy" haircut working out.

I guess sweets has abandoned us. I hope she is doing well.

Hello to to our newcomers, Sherry and Lisa....how are you ladies today?

Bekka, Dorothy, ....I hope you all are having a great carb day. Check in soon!...am I missing anyone. We need a Derby List now!

Hey Lady, I am doing very well with leaving those mints alone and reducing my Splenda drastically. I have a gum now that only has one carb in it and I am VERY, VERY mindful of when I need to chew one. I need to have some dental work done on my mouth, that's expensive, so I am so self conscience about my breath. Eventhough I brush and floss, I don't want to be talking to someone and my mouth smells bad. This is why I was chewing the mints.

I am back on track with my eating and now this is day two cheat free.

Emotionally: I am doing wondeful! I am encouraged to run on to the end.

Hello everyone! This has to be quick. I'm tired and aggravated. Tonight I fell over a concrete block in my parking lot at work and reinjured my left foot so I don't know about exercise. It's aching but I hope it subsides. I just feel like I'm being attacked from every angle.

Went to the bank yesterday to open a new account and found that my ex husband (yep the same one with the car tag situation) has my name on a joint account and they won't remove it. They said he has to come in and close the account. WHY? So now, this fool could jeopardize my future because they won't do anything? Do I need a lawyer? Can you say postal? Ugh!!!!!!!!

Ok, I really need to get to bed. Melatonin is kicking in big time. Sunny, I pray your surgery goes extremely well (above all your expectations). Take care of yourself.

          Welcome Lisa!

Well, Derby Girls.... to you all.

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Just checking in real quick, i will have to get to know all of you all by name lol and be patient with me, i think my memory is going lol. Well i had a great day today as far as my eating choices went. I went to longhorn today and chose the 7 pepper sirloin salad without croutons, and for dinner tonight i baked a spaghetti squash, sauteed some chicken breast cut up, red and green bellpepper and an onion, and i found a sauce at publix that only has plum tomatos, oregano, olive oil and roasted red peppers and put it in there and it was really good even without the cheese on top of it lol, i love cheese so going without is really going to be hard, especially in my eggs in the morning but i got to do this for me to see if it helps me out. Well i just wanted to check in but i guess i need to take my bootie to bed lol. I will check in tomorrow. And Sunny i have not read all the way back but i hear others saying things about your surgery, i will say a prayer for you and will pray for everything to go well.

Cat--I'm so sorry that your ex is coming back to haunt you again, and about your foot. Just remember that we're here for you and onederland is yours to enjoy!

Kass--How's Curves going? Tomorrow I am heading to LA Fitness with a friend to sign up; we're going to start working out together to motivate us to hit the gym. Have you tried working out with a friend before? The haircut seems to be working, got some attention at the Superbowl party I went to .

Lashon--Grats on rooting out those nasty hidden carbs and reducing your Splenda! Cutting down to the right amounts of the legal stuff can be one of the hardest parts.

Sunny--God be with you on your surgery, and I hope that this one goes perfectly. Your friend is one of those rare souls who lives what others just preach, and I hope she gets back on her feet quickly.

Tracey--Wow that's an amazing amount of exercise!!

Jersey--Be careful in all the snow, bet DH is looking for a better way to keep warm

Lisa and Sherry--Welcome to the Derby girls!

Hey to Marty, Sherri, Glenda, Kathy, Bekka and Dorothy! Kass is right, we're growing so big someone needs to start a list so we don't forget anyone!

I ran a mile today for the first time--before I had always walked part of it. It was an amazing feeling, to know that I've come from barely being able to run 1 min to running a mile. I've done well on my eating, though I was out for a few meals the last couple of days so no FitDay tracking .

Remember ladies, that no matter how hard it seems at the moment, we've all come through so much that we can overcome the obstacles in our path. Perservere and we'll acheive not just healthy bodies but healthy minds and souls as well. Love yourself enough to take care of yourself the right way.

                Wow isn't that the truth!!

Welcome to all whp just joined us. I just joined myself and have trouble keeping up with everyone. Its always so nice to come in here and see all the posts. Wish I could keep up, heh.

Cat- I had similar experience with my Ex. It gets really tiring dealing with it.

Sunny- Wishing everything goes well on monday.

Jersey- Yikes!! I am wishing the sun your way. I have the sun but its been Cold here...well cold for the desert, hehe.

I have been really lax about my eating. I need to get back on track. Its always that one hidden carb that leads to that overabundant BAD carb thing.

I am really enjoying Curves. I just joined what they call Smart Curves program. Very cool!

Oh, I joined the water challenge starting the 11th of Feb. That is 110 oz of water for me.

                  Helloooooo! (Like Mrs. Doubtfire)
My goodness, I have a sticky right here with the Derby Family's names on it and I had to get another stickey for more family members. So very cool!
                  Good evening to-
Cat, Sunny, Kass, Marty, Catherine,Tasha,Tracey, Bekka, Glenda, Prya, Kathy, Lashon, Dorothy, Sweets, Lisa, and Sherry. Wow, I can feel the love in this thread! Awesome!
Today was a great day as far as my woe goes. I stayed on plan and now have 16 days Cheat Free under my belt.
I'm still disciplining myself to three meals a day, nothing to eat between meals and nothing to eat after 5 p.m. Today is day 7 without eggs for breakfast. I got so burned out on eggs. I've been eating them every day now for nearly 4 years. It was time to step outside of the box and change things up for breakfast. Now I have Hot flaxmeal cereal, MUP (Mitzies Ultimate Pumpkin), or a veggie stir fry w/ fresh ginger. I'm loving it and the scale is too.
As far as feeling physically, I'm really tired. Missing those doses of synthroid really kicked me down a few gears. It will take a few days for the new doseage to take effect. I'll be back to my ol'self soon.
Cat, Sorry to hear of your fall today. That sounds like a #ell of a hazard there. Is there someone there to complain about that cement block that you fell over? Hope your foot isn't injured to bad hon. Keep it elevated, ha. Get some rest sweetie, love you! Toshiana is so beautiful! Just like her mama. I so love her smile! Makes me smile when I see her adoreable face!
Prya, Congrats on running your mile today hon, great job! Your hair is so cute. I use to wear my hair that short and loved it. Now it's all down to my bum.
Kass, Thank you for your kind words. Eloquent, I like that, THANKS! Your doing so well too. Congrats on your cheat free days hon. Keep up the great work!
Lisa, your meals sound delicious hon. That's something we like to share here is recipes. If you ever have any, plese share! Or if you need meal ideas, we're full of them. I'm so happy that you joined our Derby family, Welcome once more!
Catherine, Hugs to you hon, Man, your roads sound very hazardous. I'm glad your home safe and sound. Did you buy some yummy stuff at the store? I wanted to tell you that I understand the funk you've been in lately. It will pass hon. You hang on and stay focused on your woe to the Atkins T. Everything will fall into place for you. Just keep thinking Spring next month. When I think of spring I think of my hummingbirds returning to my place for the summer. Also the wonderful plants that I get to start for my garden. It's all coming dear, You hang in there.
Sherry, Girl, you could right a book of your own. You've had quite the life in your young years hon. I once had a very spiritual person tell me that "there are no mistakes or accidents in life. They're all learning experiences and experiences to prepare us for whats ahead. You are the wiser for these experiences and are meant to be shared for others to learn through them." I look forward to learning from you.
Marty, is work still kicking your butt? Hang in there sweetie, we're all here chearing you on. Congrats on breaking your evil stall and getting back under that 167. Try to find some Marty time, You deserve some you time hon.
Tracey, Great job on the exercise! Keep up the great work, your waiste will melt away. Proud of you hon.
Glenda, How's my favorite nurse today? Hang in there sweetie. The funk you are in will soon pass with the days getting longer, with light in the sky later. The weather will be getting warmer soon with birds migrating in and spring flowers in bloom. I took a ride down the mountain yesterday and saw a baby lamb, it was black as coal. So, so, cute. A sign of spring and warmer days to come.
Kathy, Have you tried taking L- Glutamine for your sweet tooth. Take 500 mg in the a.m if you have cravings during the day. Another if you have them in the evening. If your still having cravings, take two tabs. You can take up to 3000 mg's a day. I take it, it totlly works! The Hungermunster would come out on me in the evenings untill I started taking it. I don't have a problem with cravings anymore. You're doing great! So proud of you dear.
Lashon, I love your new pic too hon. Yes, it's so important to take one day at a time dear. That's all we can do. Plan, plan, plan your meals. It's so key to our success. I'm so happy that you joined us here. I love your energy! You've got a beautiful soul as well.
Tasha,Bekka, Dorothy,Sweets, Lisa, Wishing you a great Low Carb day tomorrow. Remember, this isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle. Everyones journey is different that the other. Walk your own walk and build strength in your journeys. We're all here to guide each other along the way. We're all headed for goal. Keep up the great work!
If I left anyone out, I do apologize. Please let me know and I'll be sure to add you to my Derby family list.
Wishing everyone here a great Low Carb day tomorrow!
Lots of love to all, God Bless!

I am sorry but I have spent my allotted computer time just trying to catch up... You ladies have been burning up the keyboard.

Sunny: I have to say that I loved your discription of us Derby Girls. It is so true that I felt it to the bottom of my heart.

Sherry: She ain't kidding.. they come after you with Chippendales and find you. I will always be greatful that they did. What the Dr's couldn't do and the meds couldn't do, these ladies did with their love and prayers. Welcome to our family. You couldn't ask for a better place to be.

Lisa: I would also like to welcome you to our "home". I don't get any better than this.

My weekend was great.. busy, but great. I went out to dinner with my DH, DS, his GF, DD and her partner. We then went to Dave and Buster's to play for a bit. Yesterday I played G'ma for the afternoon with my two older g'kids.
See Sherri, I finally found some downtime. Too bad today had to come in and mess it up. Back to work.

I would like to ask for prayers for my youngest g'daughter. She is 11 months old and having undetermined seizers. ( know I spelled that wrong...) Anyway, she has been having these for about 2 1/2 months now and they can't figure out why. EEG's and MRI's all coming out norm. She is being seen by a Ped. nureogolist. Today my DD-in-Law, found her in her bed, she had quit breathing, limp and turning blue. She gets her to ER and is told she will have to except this as normal with the seizers. They are going to ask about another opinion. I am hoping since they live in a very small town (take the AF base out there would be nobody) that they will send her to Salt Lake or better yet to Children's hospital here in Denver. The are already seeing the best for her in Boise. I just cannot except their attitude.

I know this is not much tonight but it's sooooo late. to all my sista's and I will get back to you real soon. I really needed this tonight, THANK YOU for being there as always.

Stay Cheatfree tomorrow EVERYBODY.... one day at a time.

                      Good Morning Ladies,

Just checking in to let you know I'm here & hanging on. Bad case of winter blues. Catherines last storm is heading here. Another 6-12" of snow with sleet & freezing rain predicted. Yesterday we woke up to 6" of snow that was unexpected. I'm so done with winter!!!

Pretty much on plan despite some wine this weekend. I know...stupid choice but it is what it is.

                      Have a great day everyone.

Thanks so much for your comments. I've always believed that everything in my life has happened for a reason and it has made me the person I am today. I wouldn't be the person I am without having gone through all of my experiences.

Today is a good day - my water, my coffee, and my sausage links...

I hope everyone else has a great low-carb day as well!

Good Morning Ladies!!! Just checking in real quick, i know later i will be off the computer we got some stormy weather headed our way. Well i got good news, i have dropped 5lbs of water weight in 2 days thank goodness. I guess cutting out on processed meats and dairy is what i needed.

I have been having some issues lately so please say a prayer for me, i got to make me a doctors appt, and im so scared. I have a cyst on my right ovary, that they wanted to keep an eye on so if it got bigger then they would have to do surgery to remove it. Well i was suppose to go back in 6wks that was in June, i have not been back since, im so scared and now it has been hurting so i know it probally has gotten bigger and im so scared of surgery, but im going to have to break on down and go on to the doctor. I was hoping it would just go away with a period or something. I kind of wonder with all this yo yo dieting and probally with an overload of yeast in my body can this cause cyst as well, i know i read an overload of candida can cause cyst. I know i never had issues like this until i started yo yo dieting. It is amazing how much impact on our health comes from the food we eat. I have been doing so much research in the last couple of years and i was telling my hubby if i could lose weight i could be a nutritionist lol, i just have a hard time sticking to it myself.

Well ladies i hope you all have a blessed day and i will check in later to see how you all have done today.

Good afternoon everyone (it's after 12 here). I have to first say that I know I've not been a good Derby Girl (friend) here lately. I've been reading your posts so don't think I have been ignoring any of you. I think the amount of stress I've been under since my Mom got injured is just finally catching up with me. Since then it's been one incident after another. I try not to let it affect me so much but when it comes to things such as my finances (being the single mommy) sometimes it just too much to deal with. Tyler Perry has that movie out called, "Why Did I Get Married?" and I truly am in that mind-set right now. I wish I had never gotten married. I don't know why all of this stuff is surfacing now. We've been separated since my daughter was 4-months-old and divorced since before she turned 1. I think what is irritating the crap out of me is the fact that they're saying I don't have the right to take my name off that account. The account is in good standing right now but that doesn't mean it will stay that way and I refuse to be responsbile for that butt-munch and his mistakes. Ugh!! This too shall pass. Right?

Sunny, I hope you're ok. I can't even begin to imagine how frustrated you must be feeling right now. Just know that all of the Derby Girls are praying for you. I pray that God sends His angels before you to anoint the doctor's hands so that he will get it right this time and your health will be so greatly improved that you'll leave us all sitting in the dust with your exercising!!

Kass, are you still hitting the circuit? Yep, you can go ahead and plan that marriage for our little ones (wonder if they'll appreciate that). LOL!! Your baby is a doll and I'm sure my Tashiana (when she gets older, although she's had 2 crushes already) would agree.

Marty, I'm glad to see you. Yes, you are right. We never let another sister go missing without doing a search (even invading their journals to threaten (lovingly) them back). Don't be a stranger. You always manage to make me smile with your sense of humor.

Sherri, you are such a gracious little hostess!! You always have a kind and encouraging word for everyone. I'm so happy to have met you and blessed to call you my friend.

Prya, thanks for your words of encouragement. I told you that you would get noticed with that hairstyle. Running one mile? I'd pass out. Someone would have to drag me off the floor. You go girl.

Tracey, you are awesome! 3 hours of calisthenics? Girl, again someone come drag me off the floor! Keep up the great work! I see you prepping for that wedding.

Catherine, I am so ready for the summer (as I know you are). I think I'd rather have snow right now than the near tornado we had last night. We had winds of 70 mph. I was so terrified and had my baby in a serious grip. I was awakened by the lovely Tornado Warning siren at 1:00 am. For 30 minutes I prayed hard. The pine trees in front of my house were bent over flat. I never want to be that scared again. Let's just pray we both get some "great" weather soon.

Creatme, please tell me your situation got better with the ex. I've never felt so violent towards anyone before. I just want to smack the crap out him and stomp him into the ground. Ok, say a prayer for me. I know that's not Christ-like.

Lashon, I'm glad you've pulled in the reigns and are beating that cheat monster down. Now, just maintain control the next time Morris Chestnut shows up and I'll do the same with Dwayne Johnson.

Well, my lunch break is up. I'm giving a shout out to Glenda, Bekka, Dorothy (or is that you creatme? I'm so confused), Sherry, and Lisa!!

I apologize if I left someone out. Sherri can vouch that I have low-thyroid brain functioning as well!!

                              Later!!
