I hope you can find one that does the same for you. I know you have a wonderful grounding in God's Word and you should find a church home that teaches what you believe. Anyway, if you are going to find Tashiana a Christian daddy, you need to find him at a church that teaches the Truth as you know it.

Sunny-Im going to send you a two way plane ticket to come stay with me lol and help me along. You love cooking and i could use your help here. Actually you need to rest, we are going to call you doctor lol.

Dallas, Georgia and central Virginia aren't that far apart--I can just drive! I love to cook, but I am from a huge family of skinny people that need to gain weight! I need someone that is doing low carb to taste test. I end up having to eat all the recipes that I create. I'd love to have some other opinions. I'll rest when I get old!
I just went through 14 days of the strictest yeast-free diets from the Yeast Connection and Atkins combined. I couldn't drink tea or coffee--nothing but water--during the coldest weather this year. It was hard, but I finally got the yeast under control for the first time since my first surgery. To do it right, you can't have any tea, coffee, dried spices, nuts, seeds, vinegar, condiments which contain vinegar, which is all of them, soy sauce, bottle salad dressings, cheese, dairy, mushrooms, pickled foods, fruit, sugar, grain and so on. All I could have for salad dressing was oil and fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice. I actually learned to like lime or lemon juice with a drop or two of sesame oil. All I could really eat was eggs, fresh meat and veggies--low carb veggies. I could have butter and oil, but no mayo. It was hard, but worth it.

About that church/Christians thing--you are the only person that you are 100% responsible for and the only person whose actions you will have to answer for one day. Don't let others keep you away from church if you have found one you like. There will always be people that don't think or behave as you think Christians should, and vice versa. There's most likely people that think the same about you, but they are not responsible for you or your actions in the end. Just try your best to get along with them and ignore what they do wrong, unless they do it directly to you or your family. None of us are perfect, so we have to try as hard as we can to do right, no matter what tests come our way. Every church has their share of hypocrites, middle of the road and faithful Christians, but it's not our job to sort them out. A good church home is the best place to raise your precious girls.

        Sunny!

I did consider it, because he was fun and such a good dancer, but that was all we had in common. You might give it a try as just a fun date and make your decision after you see what you have in common. Just take it slow, because you have a lot to offer and a lot to lose if you pick the wrong guy. I don't want to have to come to Kentucky to smack some guy that hurts my little sister!
I agree...take it slow...but you will never know if he is right for you...if you don't give it a shot. There is nothing wrong with a fun date, going out, watching a movie. etc. I still say go for it and enjoy yourself. Of course use your wisdom and smarts.....but girlfriend, it sounds like it's time for you to have a little fun and if he is what God has in store for you...it will be! If not...you may have had the time of your life...Just always protect yourself and your heart and not settle for a man because he appears to be in the image of what you want!

Just thought I would let you all see what I am having for dinner. Do any of you eat blue crabs? I love them and seafood. If it grosses some of you out, I will remove the picture. I don't want to do that.

Okay--one more post! I have to tell you all how good that London broil marinade was--so good I'm glad that I held on to the recipe for at least 15 years until I found the right spices so I could try it. That's my new favorite way to fix beef. I only bought two London broil roasts, now I wish I had bought more! Here's the recipe.

              London Broil Marinade

              ½ cup soy sauce

              2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger

2 tablespoons finely minced fresh garlic

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

              1 tablespoon rice vinegar

              1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

2 teaspoons Chinese Five Spices powder

Whisk all ingredients together in a medium bowl. Place 2 to 3 pound London broil cut of beef in a gallon zipper bag; pour marinade evenly over meat; expel the air from bag and seal. Marinate several hours, preferably over night, in the refrigerator, turning a few times to redistribute the marinade over the meat. Preheat gas grill on high heat. Reduce heat to medium and grill to medium rare. Remove from grill and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly across the grain.

Also, this morning, I was not wanting just eggs for breakfast like usual, so I was hunting through the fridge for something. I saw the guacamole that I made yesterday (best I've ever made) and the roasting hen, so the idea hit me to combine them all. I fried one egg hard in butter (mixed the yolk some with the white, but didn't scramble) and on the other side of the pan, I warmed some thin-sliced chicken breast. I put that on a plate and spread some guacamole over the egg topped with chicken and waited until the hot stuff had warmed up the cold guacamole. It was devine! I'm having that for breakfast until the chicken is gone!

I was going to make the cheesy chicken, bacon and cabbage casserole tonight, but I've done too much today and I'm really tired. I'm just going to have leftovers. I'm going to rest until dinner time! Don't want my little sisters to rat me out to the doc!

              Sunny!

oh my Cat...he IS pretty. I vote for going on a fun date....taking it VERY slow. Age is a very subjective thing - my dh is 59 and some days its a toss-up between 5 or 9. Sometimes I wonder if we miss out on good satisfying friendships because of age concerns.

Lashon - you can send those crabs right over to me....

Today has been tough. My dog, Poor Bob, became very ill and is at the vet for a few days. I cried the whole time we were there today. He is lame, blind, diabetic and incontinent. He was my mother's dog; her birthday would have been yesterday. Tough, tough day.

Waiting for MORE snow.... But signs of Spring are creeping in. My hens are ramping up their laying (I am THROWING away fresh farm eggs...) and a cardinal has been singing his heart out outside my window the last few mornings.

off to do the barn chores. Just wanted to check in and say 'hello'

Hi everyone, im checking in again too lol.

Sunny- Ok i have been reading the yeast connection and im sitting here thinking can i do this. I eat my chicken and steak dipped in mayo, i know bad bad bad, i eat turkey burgers with low carb ketchup, i wont know how to eat my meat, i have always been a dipper, i love dipping my meats. What else could i dip my meat in that taste good, can you have hot sauce, i could melt butter and hot sauce i guess. I can do without the coffee since i have done it but i replaced it with green tea but i can go without that im sure, not to crazy for it but its warm and fuzzy lol. Im trying to figure this all out to be honest. I have been taking garlic pills but that might not be as good at fighting it i see, but there is no way i could eat raw garlic, but now i could eat raw onion, i love onions so do you think i should throw that in there. Ok i know im asking a billion questions here, im just trying to get a better understanding of this whole yeast battling thing im going to have to endure. IM very discouraged here. Yesterday my sisters friend came here and she weighs about 379, which im on my way there im at 320, back up to my highest, i have gotten it down to 256 3yrs ago, and have been up and down to 290, but in the last couple of months it has went way up, but anyway i was talking to my sisters friend and she has all these health problems, like chf, and ephezema and im thinking to myself i do not want to be that person. And here i am trying to share with her what i know, but im thinking i know exactly what to do but why cant i take control and just do it. I was telling my stepmom today i wish the doctor could give me a shot of willpower lol.

Ok im done rambling here i just wanted to ask a billion questions lol.

I boil/steam mine. I put garlic powder, seasoned salt, crush red pepper, onion, mustard, Old Bay seasoning in the water. I like them seasoned but not super spicy hot. I don't know if you can find Blue Crabs in CA. Girl when I lived in San Diego I looked and looked for me some but could only get them RARELY thru the Phillippino stores and when I did I was HAAAAPPPY!!!

Yum! Seafood! I don't like the little crabs, though, because it's so much trouble to get to the little dab of meat. My favorite is spiced/steamed shrimp.

I'm so sorry about Bob, and it had to come on what would have been your mom's birthday. Hugs to you! I know how hard that can be.

You are right about age being subjective. My third to oldest brother is 29 years older than his wife, but she still sits on his lap and they are always holding hands. He was 48 and she was 19 when they got married. Age has never seemed to matter to them.

I think there is a law on the books that makes it a felony to throw away fresh farm eggs while I am still having to buy those pale, watery, thin-shelled wannabe eggs from the store! I can't wait until the farmers market opens back up in April so I can get Amish free range farm eggs. I sometimes get them in the winter, but I don't make the trip to Stuarts Draft very often anymore. After growing up on a farm, the hardest thing for me to do was eat a store-bought egg. I had chickens at the first house I owned, but haven't lived anywhere since that chickens were allowed.

                            Sunny!

                                Am I being insensitive??

OK here is the situation. I have a cousin that is very close to me. She has been struggling with her weight for a very long time. The last time she weighed...she was about 290. I am sure she is about 300 by now. I have introduced her to this WOE many times. She will start induction but will not follow through. She claims to want my help and pretends to be following the plan, but always manages to sabotage herself. She often convinces herself she has tried her best and the problem is the diet or WOE...not her.

I am now getting tired of hearing her complain about her weight because I feel like if she wants to change, she has all of the tools necessary to be successful.

What are your thoughts on this?
