Sounds delish!! I'm also happy that TOM departed the building. He stayed with me for 13 days (entirely too long).

Happy Easter! I'm so tired, I am about to nod off. All the cantatas and Easter programs are over, so life can go back to normal. I worked out in the yard yesterday as well as cleaned house, so I am sore, even though I didn't do any 'formal' exercise. It's supposed to snow tomorrow and be really cold for a couple of days, then get pretty again.

My doc called yesterday afternoon with the results of my blood work. He was really happy with how low I have gotten my triglycerides, how high I have gotten my good cholesterol and how many points my bad cholesterol has come down. I guess all the MUFA's I have added to my diet is doing the trick. My blood pressure was 116 over 76, which made him very happy, too. I agreed to have a digital mammogram so he would let me leave on Thursday, but declined a pap test, so when he called yesterday, he tried to talk me into the pap again. I sometimes wish he was the kind of doc that rushed you out the door and didn't remember your face an hour later. I was in his examining room for over an hour and a half. Then he talked for about 40 minutes on the phone yesterday--on Saturday.

Cat--Jim looks like a great guy for you. He's really cute. Is he a Christian? I love San Antonio. Those people are so friendly and nice. It's a beautiful city, too. Congrats on getting in the 180's!

Lashon--I'm so glad that your visit went well. Good clean fun is the best kind.

Good to see some of the rest of the Derby Girls back for a check-in. Good night all! Love you all bunches.

        Sunny!

Where ya been? I missed you. Great news on the doc report.
Yes, Jim is a Christian. He says that God brought us together for a reason. My heart skips a beat when I think of him.

Guess what I woke up to? SNOW!!! I can't wait until summer gets here.

            Everyone have a blessed day.

I found out today (after calling the doc back who left a message at my house on Thursday to call but they wouldn't be in on Friday) that I have a Vitamin D deficiency. I have to take prescription Vitamin D (1 per week for 8 weeks). Maybe this is why I've been so chronically fatigued?

I'm just upset because they left a message at my house...didn't call me at work even though they have my # at work. Oh well, I'll get started on the meds today. Fingers crossed I'll be feeling so much better at the end of 8 weeks.

              Where ya'll at?

I started taking 1200 IU of vitamin D3 last fall, and I felt better right away. I also try to spend some time every day in the sun. Low vitamin D is the main reason that we have the seasonal depression. I know my mood lifted after just a few days. I have read that African Americans are more prone to low D because of the way the skin absorbs (or doesn't) the sun's rays. I will add this to my prayer list.

I am adding you, Jim, Tashiana and Sandra to my prayer list, too. I hope this is the relationship that God has planned for you. You pray about it a lot and I will, too. If you haven't dated in quite a while, prepare for Tashiana to be a little jealous.

As for where I've been--busy trying to catch up from following doctor's orders about doing nothing for over a month. I am so far behind and so weak. Everything wears me out. I am pacing myself, but where do the hours in the day go??? If I allow myself to get on the computer, I get caught up in it and have a hard time getting back to work or exercise. Now that I don't have doctor's appointments until April and the extra services at church are over, I will have more time.

We are having a special healing service next Sunday, but I don't think I am going to sing in the choir. I want to be a part of the audience for a change. I will probably attend choir practice on Wednesday night as I am picking up a blind choir member and his service dog, Honey. She is a marvelous dog and so beautiful--part black lab and part Gordon setter (looks like a black Irish setter) and behaves so well when we perform. She never makes a sound, even when someone inadvertently steps on her foot--which has happened more than once.

Well, must get busy. Gardening doesn't wait, even when it is supposed to snow.

                Sunny!

                  Sunny!
Thank you Sunny. I just read those articles. I wonder what I can do for Tashiana. Should I have her tested since she's so young? She spends a great deal more time outdoors than I do and she's a little bit more fair than I am so hopefully that will help her in that department. Gosh, so I wonder if this is why I have periodic outbreaks of depression. I thought it was my thyroid. I'm sure the combination of the two cannot be a good thing. I take Women's One A Day but I guess that's just not enough.

Thank you also for your prayers. My heart has been shut-down for a long time and I'm scared to trust anyone but I've decided I'm not going to operate on fear this time (and pray and pray like you said). If he and I don't work out, I hope we can remain good friends because our personalities really do mesh well together.

You take care of yourself. I know you are probably like me and have Type A personality where you tend to overdo things (because we believe we're superwoman). Don't hurt yourself.

I do understand how the computer takes up time. My house looks like who-did-it-and-when right now. I'll be cleaning all this week (punishment for staying on the computer all this weekend). LOL!! Just get one when you can, even if it's just to say hi. I worry about all of you when I don't hear from you.

I think I would add a supplement of vitamin D3 to what Tashiana already takes. The only reason milk has vitamin D is because they add it to the milk so you can absorb the calcium in the milk. It wouldn't hurt to have her tested since you have a history of thyroid problems and such. You need to get going on the naturopathy thing so you can figure out all this stuff for yourself. Look how long it took a medical doctor to notice the problem.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

                            March 24, 2008

                            Dear MN:

                            Re: Snowstorm

I am not pleasantly amused at you fulfilling my request for snow on December 24th for a white Christmas on the day after Easter on March 24th! I don't buy your excuse that you got the holidays mixed up. Even a ditz knows it's officially spring and not winter! I am not in the mood for pots of chili eaten in front of a roaring fire, wearing sweats! My mouth is ready for cold salads eaten in front of an open window; the gentle breeze scented with lilac. I have the salad planned for tonight, and I'm having it, even if I will be wearing heavy sweats and fuzzy socks with the snow swirling past the windows. You can do better than this! I want sunshine and warmth! Or ELSE!

Sorry it took me so long to respond but I finally get to catch up on my BB stuff. I've fallen off of the Atkins wagon and am struggling to get back on! Just wanted to say good luck again! Glad you liked my story. Eharmony really is great for meeting someone who matches you well! I have never laughed as hard as I do with my Brian!

Or ELSE!

ROTFLOL!! You are so funny!! I so needed that laugh.
