I wanted to jump in and say that I'm so proud of everyone! Ya'll are doing amazingly well . I've been lurking for a couple minutes a day, but not posting outside of the 6WEC as part of my "get off the darn computer" program. Couldn't help it tonight though <3

Cat--Your attitude about life and love is inspiring; I hope your date goes as well as you could dream!

Sunny--Congrats on getting back to the exercise, even though it hurts.

To all my Derby sisters--hang in there, and I love you all.

Hey everyone! How the heck is everyone?

I'm home today. My plan was to go to the store and get fitted for a bra because no matter how many times I measure it keeps telling me that I need a G cup!! Now how in the heck can my cup size go up after losing close to 52 pounds? I'm going to weigh in a little bit to see if I've lost any. I've been in a mini-stall for the last 2 weeks. I think TOM is lurking. Ugh!! Any of you know about measuring? My waist is 34 inches and my bust size is 43 inches which is a difference of 9 inches (the 9 inches determines cup size). Am I really a G cup. If so, it's no wonder I've been busting a sag with these bras. I know the band is the wrong size because it rides up my back. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated because I think my trip to the store will not happen. It's been raining so hard here that school was called off due to flooding of roads. They've already done several rescues where people have tried to drive through the water (what's wrong with people). I don't mind taking myself out in this hot-mess weather but I'm not taking my baby out in it (shhh, don't tell her I called her a baby).

I hope you all have a great day.

Hi Cat, I can help some. This is another area I cover in MIHI
If your bra is rising up in the back then it is not fitting properly and your breasts should not be sagging. This is an indication usually that the bra is to big or has lost it's support effect, especially if you have adjusted the straps already. I would venture to say your breasts have gone down some too after losing over 50 lbs. I would recommend that you go to Lane Bryant, Victoria's Secret or any major department store and get measured. This way you are not guessing and know your proper size. Wearing the correct size bra can really help with your posture and the way your clothing fit. I hope this helps my sister and have a blessed up day!

No, I'm not guessing. I used Lane Bryant's website which says I'm 38G. I remeasured this morning and my band underneath my breast is 32.5 so if I round up to 33 and add the 5 that makes my band size 38. The fullest part of my breast (and this is with bra as they stated) is 43. 43 minus the 33 is 10 inches (9 inches or more is a G cup). I know it sounds strange but I've gone from a 42F to a 38G. This is the same way I measured before and got my correct fitting of 42F. I guess I'm just confused at going up a cup size. I think my band is riding up because it's now way too big (even at the tightest row of rungs on the bra) because 42 to 38 is a considerable difference. I'm just irritated too because these bras cost over $30 per bra.

and.....online dating. i was a single mom of 2, working full time. my ex had been gone already two years. i had NO DESIRE to date for those two years. i was too busy. then as the kids developed other interests, i starting thinking about dating. would i still remember how to do it? and how would i meet anyone when i was in a classroom all day and in my house with the kids all night? (my church is attended mostly by the senior crowd and there are not many fun adult activities where i live.)

so a pal practically forced me to go online. really and truly, i COULD write a book about my adventures. i met some really really nice people. some were fun but definitely not "the one." others were weirdos who got in under my radar. but i learned a lot about ME.........i KNEW what i did and did not want. i too did not want to go thru what i did before.

my husband had moved to CA from MN and he had gone online mostly just to make new contacts in the area. we talked for a while before we met but he was anxious because he was heading to china for a business trip and wanted to "know" before he left. our first date was the best first date i had EVER been on. we sat and talked til the sun came up! he was leaving two days later and insisted on driving all the way to see me again before leaving. over the two weeks he was in china we emailed and "skyped" from here to china and when he got home we were ready to seriously see what would happen.

                          we were married last june!

funny, we BOTH knew what we wanted in a partner. neither was willing to settle for less. no we are neither perfect but we are perfect for each other. i met some freaks for sure. but i had fun and would do it again. my hubby was worth waiting 45 years to marry. i hope you have fun with your friend ray. maybe he is the one, maybe not. if not that is ok too......you will continue to learn more about yourself and that is always a good thing! please keep us posted. i, like you , did NOT need a husband. i DID desire someone to share all the wonderful things in life WITH. and that is worth waiting for!

thanks for letting me stick my nose in here!!!
Thank you so much. Your story is such an inspiration. No, I won't settle. Ray and I are enjoying each other so much. It's such an instant connection I've felt with him. We talk about everything ... just straight-up and honest. We've spent over 18 hours on the phone this past week. When we're on the phone our conversations last 2 to 3 hours and it feels like it has only been minutes. We've both been married before and know how we will not accept being treated. He's absolutely wonderful. Last night we went to dinner. I was too nervous to eat so we had to box up my food. Anyway...we went to his place (yes I was either brave or stupid). He was such a gentleman. He serenaded me on his guitar. He played India Arie's song Ready For Love. Oh my gosh, how pretty. If you've not heard...you've got to hear it. He's coming back to see me this evening. He had to work today and is at home napping. He is so polite (holding doors open, holding my chair, etc.). Girls, I've had such scrubs in my life that I don't know how to act with someone treating me with such kindness and respect.

Hi everyone!! Thanks so much for your well-wishes. He just called and is on his way here.

Glenda, oh your story is what inspired me to keep going. Thank you. No, Ray did not go to church with me today. He had to work. He's working on a special project and they're required to work the weekends right now. He does attend his church for Wednesday services and he mentioned last night that after his weekend duties are up at work that he wants us to start going to church together.

Katie, your story too has been an inspiration. I'm glad that you had your talk with your sweetheart and that all is well. Thanks for sharing your story....again, your stories helped me to keep the faith.

Thank you Sunny!! I thought the picture came out great. Tashiana did love him. She didn't throw one fit when we left and didn't treat me bad when I got home (like she sometimes has done in the past). Plus, he brought her the Bee Movie (kudos to him for thinking about my child's feelings) so he got major cool points from her. Today, he wants to take us both out because he said that he doesn't want her to feel that he is taking me away from her.

Hi Betsy (is this correct)! Again, thank you for sharing your story. You girls are the best!! I'll keep you all posted of what's going on and if he turns out to be my soulmate (as I truly feel deep in my heart) then you're all invited to the wedding (next year). LOL!!

I feel so ridiculous being this giddy over a guy (have not felt this in a long time...not even for the ex husbands). Okay, I'm off to make myself look pretty. Oh, he's so sweet...he said I was much prettier in person. Girls, let me tell you...his pics do not do him justice and the first pic of him looks absolutely nothing like he does in person. Oh, be still my beating heart.

awww cat i am glad you like my story. i was way skeptical about the whole thing. i really did not trust people too much but i DID trust my OWN instincts. i just figured there was no rush. i had plenty of time to know him. and you will too. he scores BIG for thinking of your daughter. and get USED to being treated respectfully....it is ALL you deserve and nothing less. if you sense the least bit of disrespet, don't let the door hit him in the butt! i learned so much about my hubby in the two weeks we wrote...it was funny. kind of like a grown up pen pal. once we knew each other fairly well, then we got to the real and serious issues. we tell each other every day how lucky we are. like you, i expect we feel this way because of all we went thru before meeting each other. just makes it that much sweeter. i hope this evening is as nice as your first date. time will tell...in the meantime, enjoy!
