    Re: STAC Inductioneers!

Hey guys... It is day two for me. I picked myself up by the boot straps and got back on track on Thurs. - I also went shopping which helped a TON. I got all the legal food stocked & ate all the temptations on Wed. ha ha

I also stepped on the scale and it said 219 this is only up a couple of lbs. for me so that is not so bad. I think I can shake them. I jumped in the pool on Wed. and it felt great. I didnt do a ton...but by lap six I was feeling it. I have decided when I lose this 19 lbs. I am going to reward myself with a waterproof Ipod. They cost around 200 dollars so that is a fair trade in my book.

I hope every one has a great weekend. - talk to you next week.

      Re: STAC Inductioneers!

Well it's day 5 for me...hope everyone is doing well.

I'm about to go do my first workout since starting induction...I feel fantastic, full of energy and my mood is great. I snuck a peak at the scale this morning...it's moving the right direction!

Tomorrow will be my first challenge...I plan on attending a party where I would usually drink and occasionally pick at the food offerings. This is gonna be hard, but not as hard as next weekend...which is my birthday. I plan on having TWO parties...but don't want to stall my progress with alcohol, especially when my 14 days ends the following MONDAY. The great thing is that for both parties I will have a lot of control over food...totally able to ensure that there are things around for ME to eat. It's just the inevitable cake...and the alcohol...that I'm gonna be challenged with.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm gonna do my workout and then fry up some parmesan chicken tenders I found on this site

      Realistic Final Goal: 190
      Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

            Hi,

Shaunawa: Waterproof ipod? Sounds really cool. How does that work? Can you swim with the wires around?

Steady: Congrats on the big number there! Feels good eh? Good work.

Rajenki: Happy (upcoming birthday). Just plan ahead and you will be fine. If you have to drink I think TJ said that michelob ultras are low carb and then just an alcohol with diet soda if you don't like beer. I mean I'm sure you are going to try to resist but if you can't (and must) drink - maybe have one of those low carb choices on hand. I'm going to try those cheesecake muffins - they would make some nice little cakes for you. I'm sure someone can give you a good cake recipe here. Again, likely they would be truly induction stuff (but a whole lot better than the 'regular' cake out there). You can do it.

I don't know what Day of induction it is anymore. I think we are done Sunday? Are you guys going to do extended induction? Or move to OWL? I want to see my weight first.

            Ciao. S-

              Re: STAC Inductioneers!

              Good morning of Day 13!!

It's beautiful here and I can't wait to get my inside stuff done and get outside. The dogs are ready, too!

My decisions will be based on what happens Monday morning but I have left my book out and reading it and rereading it whenever I get the chance.

What I've been doing is pretty much straight out of Chapter 18: A Regimen To Jump Start Weight Loss.

Of the seventeen rules listed there, the only one that I've blatently disregarded is number 10 which says to drink only decaf coffee and tea. I have a cup of coffee each morning and hot cups of unsweetened green tea throughout the day.

However, I justify this because two weeks ago, I drank A LOT of Diet Coke during the day. And now I don't Good justification, huh?

I have also not been strict about having three cups of vegetables but I don't consider this a complete disregard because rule 6 says "may" not "must."

I have had lots of veggies, though, including portabella mushrooms, summer squash, lettuce, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans.

The things that I am most proud of for the last two weeks:

              I have had NO:
              Diet Coke
              almonds or peanuts
              SF candy
              SF jello
              anything with aspartame
              Frankenfoods

I am also proud for the first time in my life, I have taken nutritional supplements DAILY for two straight weeks--hoping to develop a habit instead of the way I've done it in the past which is "when I think about it."

So, to use the old phrase "progress, not perfection." Hopefully, when I get on the old scale on Monday morning, something positive will result.

I don't have more than 15 pounds to lose at the most and even that gives me a cushion so I'd be real happy if I lose three pounds during this two-week "Regimen to Jump Start Weight Loss." I won't call it Induction, that p**** off the die hards.

I hope everyone has a great day. I'm really enjoying communicating with the STACERS. Thanks for your support!

Oh, and for breakfast: steak and eggs
Lunch: tuna salad and pork rinds (my favorite)
Supper: blackend tilapia with homemade "tartar sauce", green beans and salad

Am I reading your signature right that you were at 192 two weeks ago and now you're at 185? That rocks!!!

What's your height if you don't mind me asking?

I'm 5'10" at 187 two weeks ago. I'd like to be at 170-175. I'm 38 so it looks like we're real similar.

                              Re: STAC Inductioneers!

Day Fourteen and I'm kind of bummed out. Looks like TOM is here. :-( I really don't want to weigh tomorrow because I know it won't be accurate... My rings are really tight and they were really loose a couple of days ago. I'm sad.

TOM is a crazy issue for me. I was on depo for 11 years and that was the one central reason for my initial weight gain. I went off depo almost a year ago and TOM hasn't happened since except for spotting here and there until last month when I had a really tiny period. I'm on the pill now.

Anyway, so I guess I'll weigh in the morning and then next Monday morning and just be happy with whatever.

I did a little "weigh" cheat this morning, though. While I was getting dressed for church, I tried on some pants that I tried on 14 days ago and couldn't button. THEY BUTTONED EASILY!! (can't really say they were attractive, but they buttoned!)

So, here's to my Regimen to Jump Start Weight Loss!!!!

kelly, I weighed this morning, knowing I should get tom today, and DEFINITELY holding water. I was only up a lb. so I'm still saying I'm at 205.

now to eat my ginormous breakfast. whew.

I've actually been posting what I've been eating on my (blogger) blog the entire time. maybe I should keep doing that post-induction.
