    Re: Induction marathon: 4 weeks (3rd Sep - 1st Oct)....anyone with me?

I am so excited to get weighed tomorrow. I can't even believe I just said that, normally I dread getting weighed and I mean DREAD it. I have been really good this week, I actually dreamed last nite that I ate a piece of a biscuit and woke up in a panic that I blew it. Its really bad when your dreaming you messed up on your diet. K, you guys have got to stop drinking cos if your drinkin them I'm gonna say well if they're losing and they're drinkin then a chocolate chip cookie can't be as bad as a glass of wine or a beer and then I'll want a cookie instead of a drink and nobody can eat just one once they start and it'll be all down hill from there and I'll have no one to blame but you guys for drinking! soooo we're on induction and I've searched high and low but no where on induction does it include wine, beer or chocolate chip cookies!! back to the veggies girls and stick to em!!!

I know, chocolate covered bacon, sugar on steak....seriously people! One Nation Under Insulin, with Diabetes and Test Strips for All!

I am hanging in there despite a disastrous night. Water main break took our running water and ran with it....all down the street. They may charge us extra for a view of a river But now we have to contend with no water to filter for drinking, no water to boil, no water for cleaning dishes, no water for toilets or showers!!

I am raiding the store tonight for gallons of the clear liquid stuff and REALLY enjoying the free running water at work! Tonight we dine out so as not to aggravate ourselves more. Chipotle salad or steakhouse we trust.....

Either way I met one of my smaller goals this morning so I'm still thrilled!!

Yes Tania we are on the same time line! WE CAN DO IT!!!
I'm in my 9th day today in the induction phase and now have lost 5 lbs!
I have 6 more till my 14th day, but will probably stay on induction for another week because I had a couple of cosmopolitans over the weekend...Alcohol does slow your progress down! So no more! My liver could use a rest anyway....he he he!

Sorry for you water main problem. Sounds horrible!

By the way, Chocolate covered bacon was all the rage at the San Diego fair this year....I thought it strange, but then again Bacon does go with everything!!

                Take care!

                  I'm in. Started today!

I'm in the "Second Time" club because I feel like I know carb counts by heart, although I've never strictly followed the Atkin's Diet. I did a quasi-Atkin's thing for an extended period of time about 10 years ago, but then I switched to CAD, which worked for me, too. This time, I'm going to see what happens if I don't switch because CAD doesn't seem to work for me anymore

My friend's wedding is in a month and a half, and I'd really like to look fabulous for it!!!

LauraMG - Welcome! Like Trisha and me, even u have a 6 week goal.....thats great!

diamonds - i agree with you. I was monitoring my weight everyday during the weekend. And tell you what, alcohol makes a huge difference. Instead of the weight that you can lose with correct eating and exercising, alcohol can bump it up. So all the efforts are down in the drain. Also that leads to carb binge. I do agree.....no alcohol means no alcohol. I am very curious to know how much you lost today. Keep us posted.

Just curious, how much water do you guys drink per day?

Weight today 235.4 - thats almost 2 lbs this week. I'm good with that! I've been eating very well, nothing off plan [since Monday - small slip], so feeling good. When I first started back in february, I was losing about 1 lb a week [overall average] - but then climbed back up...so just trying to get it back on track. My lowest was 231, and will be thrilled to get back to that.

I joined a challenge to drink 100oz of water per day. It's really helped. I have always been a big water person, but now that I'm actually keeping track, I wonder if I was really drinking enough. I make it a goal to drink at least 64 oz at work, then I know I will get it all in...but try to limit it after 7pm [otherwise I'm up during the night].

K it was weigh in day and I lost 13 pounds this week!!! I am absolutely thrilled! I knew I was doing good because I was drinking about 70 oz. of water a day and eating a salad for at least one meal each day and then protein for the other meal so I was expecting it to be a decent loss. I have to admit though that I am definetly one of those people who is never happy with my weight loss. If I had lost 10 I'd have wished for 13 but since it was 13 my first thought was I wish it woulda been 15, knowing full well if it had been 15 I'da wished for 17. So anyway my day started off GOOD today. Now if I could just have these same results for the next 5 weeks I'd be just about done.
Yuck!! at the no water - I can't even imagine. You don't realize just how much you use it till its gone then every 2 seconds your reaching for the faucet.
tania...We only have 3 weeks left on induction!!! I'm counting down till we can add stuff and I don't mean alcohol!! If I start drinking that the next thing I know I'll have a strawberry daqiari with a big floating strawberry and a mound of whip topping sitting beside me.
Good job on the weight loss Barr - if you lose 2 a week from now until Christmas you'll have 30 more pounds off - love the sound of that!!
laura - welcome to the group and good luck!
I still can't come around to the thought of chocolate covered bacon... it just doesn't seem right to chocolate cover an animal an oreo yes, an animal no
