    Re: Induction marathon: 4 weeks (3rd Sep - 1st Oct)....anyone with me?

I called my parents last night to tell them their daughter is officially a fat arse

While I don't particularly want to tell the whole world about it, and it was pretty embarrassing to tell them I have somehow managed to make myself weigh 186 pounds, I do think it's helpful to me to come clean and be upfront about the fact my weight has become a serious problem. For me that makes it a lot harder to not deal with it because that's just stupid and negligent.

Also I got on the scale this morning and I'm down half a pound or something. It's not that I didn't believe Atkins would work, it's that because we didn't have a scale when we started, I just needed to see a little movement.

And I did - lo, I have seen the light, and I have faith!

How is everyone doing today? I'm making eggs for breakfast, although to be completely honest I would happily kill my own mother for a bagel. But only if it was a magical bagel with no carbs

I'm doing good so far, course its only 8:30 a.m. but every little bit helps. I brought celery for breakfast and a really good salad for lunch and I brought some chicken to grill and put in the salad. No clue what I'll do for dinner. We went walking a mile and a half again last nite so that was good. Get weighed tomorrow so I'm still hopin those evil cookies didn't completely screw me up.

FINALLY out of my weight stall! This morning the scale said 227 instead of its stubborn 229! My measurements were no help as I've lost in the stomach, chest and hips but GAINED in arms and legs!

My super secret mini-goal?? To get my calves small enough that I can wear knee-high boots this fall! I have HUGE legs in general thanks to years of swimming and my calves are so big NO boot (not even the stretchy ones) will fit over them. I figure if I can lose about 3 inches on the calves I'll be able to do it!

        So 227, here I am....225, here I come!!

you guys are amusing with your scale stories! I was down again today, but that could be due to a couple 'mistakes' I drank last night - will probably go up again tomorrow - but will drink lots of water today and eat well!

I brought 2 hard boiled eggs, fresh veggies and a pork steak for work. We have an 'outing' this afternoon with my work group - at a 'wings' place. Will look up the menu online and probably go for a large salad and water!

          Happy Wednesday.

Wow everyone is doing so well!

Bella, congrats on de-stalling your fine self. Way to go!

Diamonds, how did your weigh-in go?

                  Debber, congrats on your ketosis

Barrnone, congrats on your loss also, maybe the drinks won't come back to bite you in the ***

I have horrible, horrible PMS and could in theory eat everything not nailed down. I ate on plan but it wasn't a great day - 70% fat thanks to my rich and creamy friend mayo. Not feeling optimistic about tomorrow but I'm only logging the weekly weigh-ins.

PS: My pee smells like asparagus ALL THE TIME since starting Atkins - anyone else?

                    Re: Induction marathon: 4 weeks (3rd Sep - 1st Oct)....anyone with me?

Guys, I was out for a day and read all the posts today morning. You guys are awesome!!!

DarlingBri- I know you wanted to weigh lesser……but don’t we all? Think about this. It was a reality check that you needed to start the process which is very tough. Staying put on it is even tougher. And I am on the same boat as you. Pee does smell ‘funny’.

Diamonds – Today is your weigh in day and I am excited to know how much you have lost. I am expecting your weight loss to slow down but that’s ok. Weight loss is never linear. You are doing a great job! But I have a question for you. When you mention salads, are you eating proteins along with it? Or just the salad?

LauraMG- I so totally understand your frustration! But congrats on ur weight loss. 5-7 lbs is pretty good. I have an interesting story about my scale. I use one at home and since it’s an very old one I had my doubts too. So I thought, ‘this is bullshit’ and I got another scale. So now I have two scales at home. (Thank god I live alone!) But I didn’t get that lucky u know. But now I have a way to know that the weighing scales are ok coz I can compare.

Debber- Whats finger licking chicken? Can I get the recipe?? And congrats for the ketosis.

Bella – Congrats on pushing past the stall! I am in the same boat. Just stick to your plan now and u will soon see the scales moving down.
Barrone/ Bella – I have fat legs too. I have a comparatively slimmer upper body. Talk about ‘Thunder thighs’!!
Apart from that, I am having horrible PMS too. I feel so so tired that I am walking around like a tortoise. I just don’t have the energy to go the gym. I could only make it once this week!! Stressful week at work and somehow I have to make it through. I am taking two aspirin a day to help me get through this. I hope that doesn’t affect the diet, right??
By the way, I am not doing the mistake on stepping up on the scale coz of TOM. I won’t weigh- in this week. But i will push through this and next week I should be seeing a bigger weight loss.

                    Cheers !

I'm so excited - down to 233, so another 2 lbs this week. I really think my water challenge [100oz] has helped. Also, starting this forum got me out of my summer stall, and more focused - total 4 lbs since 9/3 - which is perfect for me.

Today, since I know I will get home late, put a pork roast in the crock and brought a 'huge' bag of lettuce/spinach, with chopped mushrooms, cheese, eggs, etc...so will be sure to get my greens in during the day.

Seems like a small loss, but to me, it's huge!

Wishing you all a great Thursday!

It's not small! 2 pounds a week means 50 pounds over six months which is awesome! (Or at least what I'm telling myself since I need to, you know, lose 50 pounds...)

Weigh in today and I lost 2 pounds. I wanted 5 but I'll take the 2. I was disappointed at first but it put me under 270 so that was a step in the right direction.
tania - I always have my protein either in my salad, always cheese and usually either grilled chicken or taco meat, and whatever meal I have a salad with I have protein as the main course for the other meal. I really didn't want the losses to slow down, 13 a week woulda been fine with me!! I walked 3 days last week plus the normal running from place to place all week long with the kids but I need to do more exercise. I'd love to join a gym but there is seriously no time in my day to go to one but walking at the practice fields is doable all the time so I need to do more of that.
Everyone seems to really be doing good. congrats to everyone on their losses this week!! I need some new good stuff to make to eat. If anyone has any good chicken dishes that are easy let me know. I love chicken and turkey but I'm running out of ideas and when I do that other things (bad things) start looking so good so I need to jazz up my menu. Have a great day everyone...

Diamonds, wtg! Down is the right direction!

This is the most amazing, glorious, delicious chicken recipe ever, and it's also nice because you can use cheap cuts - thighs, drumsticks, breasts on the bone, etc. You bake with significant amounts of lemon and garlic but I'm really on the fence re whether it's Induction legal as you don't eat them. The chicken gets infused with the flavours from the heat in the sealed baking dish.

(Yes, she shows them plated up but we've always just plucked the chicken from the baking dish and left all the other stuff behind.)

Thanks Bri - When I started in Feb, I was losing an average of a lb a week, then summer - grrr - if I would have kept it up, I'd be 30 lbs lighter! But, have to be realistic and know - things happen - take what I can, I'll be thrilled when I get to 230!

Big congrats diamonds - I love the milestones! I'm with you on exercise, I have a terrible time 'fitting' it in. I joined the squat and ab challenges, and have completely forgotten to do them 3 days in a row.

I love chicken too, there's a new thread that I just read that had a great chicken drumstick recipe - look at the new posts. Also, got one off Lindas site with zucchini that sounds good - haven't made it yet tho! I use her site alot.

I must say that the finger lickin chicken recipe was SOOO GOOD!! That my mom is Begging me to make it for dinner today, I got it from lowcarber.org-- Here is the link--
Chicken Fingers To Die For!!! : Main dishes Forum : Active Low-Carber Forums

I know the induction list did not include parm. cheese, I but , I made it, and I have been in Ketosis--here goes!!

btw, here is the recipe in case you cant get to the link--I quote verbatem the Bigloss, blogger who shared the recipe-

-Parmasean cheese (Alot, the most out of all ingeridents)
Paprika (about 4 or 5 shakes)
                                Seasoning (couple shakes)
                                Garlic Powder (1 shake)
                                Salt ( couple shakes)
                                Pepper ( also couple shakes)

                                I then whisked 2 eggs

dip the chicken strips in the egg dip, then coat them in the coating.

Put the strips in a pan with hot olive oil. Make sure the oil is really hot so that the parmasean melts quick and creates a crust.

OMG they were so good i just dipped them in ranch!! I was in heaven!!!""

                                Happy Times!!
