    Re: Induction marathon: 4 weeks (3rd Sep - 1st Oct)....anyone with me?

    Tania
I was actually down a pound today, so feeling good about that. I was down to 231 in June and let myself slide back up...today 236. I'm very anxious to be in the 220's.

If you don't already know this, I believe one of the cures for 'induction flu' is boullion. Since I think you've been thru this before, you know it's temporary and you'll feel much better soon.

It's going to be a tough weekend - going to my cottage, then to a party and a concert - lots going on - lots of temptation, but I'm going to be with other lo-carbers - so it can work. Just good pre-planning and supporting each other. My normal problem camping is that I don't eat enough...so will try to plan the meals each morning and make a schedule! I love a challenge.

diamonds - I normally just eat the toppings - not sure what happened last night, just one of those moments. Really regretting it today. Have fun shopping - I always enjoy buying all those fun foods, fresh veggies, good meat. I always make up a big tub of fresh radishes, peppers, snap peas, celery and cherry tomatoes - 3 of each make a perfect baggie for work [7.7 carb, 2.7 fiber - so 5 veggie net carb]. It's the perfect snack!

that sounds so good - wish i had some here today. Course I could also go for the toppings of pizza too. Only brought a hamburger patty and some zucchini for lunch so it'll be filling but not thrilling. I like going shopping for all the good stuff too. I really like american cheese with turkey and just roll them up together for a snack or cut up in a salad. Its amazing how good we all feel and how we eat so much better and enjoy most of it that we would ever fall off the diet but it seems to happen so easily. One loaf of warm italian bread and I'm done for!! Good luck this weekend

          Re: Induction marathon: 4 weeks (3rd Sep - 1st Oct)....anyone with me?

It's Friday! 4 Days in and 5 pounds down. Gotta love water weight for an early boost of confidence and excitement. I skipped my evening workout but had walked .75 miles yesterday. This afternoon I skip my walk (forgot sneakers) and will exercise when I get home. I also take my measurements tonight. Ack! Need something that will give me a boost when I have no-loss weeks.

Ordered groceries, so much easier because I'm less likely to buy things we won't use. When we went shopping we'd easily buy about $30 worth of food that would go bad EACH WEEK. So now they shop for us and we pick it up. Now we only waste the $4.95 for the pickup fee. Saving SO much money.

Lets see, what do I have for snacks this week:
          pre-cooked bacon
          buffalo wings
          low-carb meatballs (yay pork rinds)
marinated shrimp (not too many though, keep those carbs low!)
          cheese sticks
          peanut butter

          Should be enough

That all sounds good. I forgot my sneakers last nite so I didn't get to walk but I'll do it tonite. I don't know what I'll get for snacks. I'm in that nothing sounds good and don't really wanna eat stage. I'm going to pull out the induction list and circle things I want from it and just go with those.

                Re: Induction marathon: 4 weeks (3rd Sep - 1st Oct)....anyone with me?

I'm up 2 lbs - so at 238.2. Not too worried, it was a camping weekend, so as much as you try to eat well, it's probably not completely balanced. Plus, I feel a bit bloated - so will drink more water today and will drop by tomorrow.

Ate really well. Was camping with my hub, sister and BIL. My sis is also lo-carb, so we made really good food. Lots of meat and veggies. Even tho we made salads, I may have not gotten in enough.

Went to a party, stayed away from the desert table and the sweet corn. Ate salads - so did very well. Did have one salad - it was really good - but I asked for the recipe and when I got it yesterday, found there was 2 cups of sugar in it [yikes]. I am going to make it for a party this weekend using splenda. Once I check it out to make sure it's induction friendly, I will post on this forum.

I'm home today doing housework, paperwork, etc - so a good day to get in some exercise and lots of water and good eating!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

                  Re: Induction marathon: 4 weeks (3rd Sep - 1st Oct)....anyone with me?

Diastrous weekend EXCEPT where diet was concerned. Sunday we went to a steakhouse with friends, thinking it was safe, and realized after eating a few pieces of grilled veg that they coat it in SUGAR! Zucchini should NOT be sweet! We also realized after eating taht they coat their steaks in sugar too! We told the guy we couldn't have sugar but I guess he forgot to mention it to chef. (thank goodness the steakhouse near us doesn't do that)

Despite that little hiccup I still lost 2 pounds over the long weekend and am 1 pound away from my first mini-goal! Hopefully I'll have time to workout tonight...really working my arms for my sleeveless wedding dress What's the point of losing lots of weight if my skin hangs outside my dress??? So 30 minutes of cardio and 3 reps of 15 with the 10 pound weights in several different moves. Pumped a good friend for info as he sees a trainer twice a week. Going to get our BIG ball out and use that as well for the nights I can't drag myself out of the apartment for cardio.

Hope everyone had a fabulous fat-losing weekend! I'll be checking in later!!

Those 2 pounds will drop right away once you get back to your water, exercising and veggies. I'm looking forward to getting weighed on Thursday I feel like I've done really well. I'd love to know how Tania did she was getting weighed yesterday.

I would have needed oxygen if I found out my veggies and steak were coated in sugar!! Here you are ordering right on plan and they could have totally thrown you off with that. Thank God you still lost so it doesn't seem like it hurt you at all.
We leave for vaca in December so I know what you mean, October 21 will be here before you know it.

                              Guys,

What can i say? My weight not budging an inch. I must admit, i slipped on the weekend and drank 2 glasses of white wine. (felt so good!). But somehow alcohol always stalls my weight loss so i should be blaming myself for this. But i am going strong now.

Diamonds- you are my inspiration. Please let me know how much you lost when you weigh on thursday.

Trisha- We are on same deadline. You are leaving for Key West on 21st Oct and i am leaving for Vegas on 22nd OCt. Its just 6 weeks! Gotta give in all i have.

diamonds - at our state fair this year, they had chocolate covered bacon ?? not sure that I could even try it...and I do love chocolate.

Tania - stay positive. I still drink beer, which is the reason for my slow weight loss, but I always eat on plan. One bad habit at a time for me.

I'm down my 2 lbs from the weekend, which is thrilling. I think I'll hop on the Thursday weigh in, altho I do weigh every day, I'll just change my ticker on Thursdays.

Did really well yesterday, and drank tons of water - which helped tremendously! Have a big salad and my fresh veggie baggie pre-made for work today - and grocery shopping tonight [much needed] - I'm excited about this week...I'm really trying to get to that 230 mark!

                                Happy Wednesday ladies.
