Sweet Einy! I can't wait til I see how much you've lost.

I know exactly what you mean about the fat thing. I haven't been eating much fat prior to starting this way of life and I found it repulsive. Now, I just have to get used to it again and I am doing quite good so far. Cheese is one way and my store sells these buffalo wings that are 1 carb for 4 chicken wings and I usually eat 3 in one day when I am working and they have loads of fat in them. Mmm, delicious. Also, try to use mayonaise for fat and olive oil when you cook food, too. =) It helps in the fat intake. But remember, you need those veggies too. =) Oh and water, lots of it.

Keep up the good work everyone! I know it's tough not to cheat but with determination it does get easier. Change is never easy but in a few weeks you'll be lighter and feeling a lot more energetic. I find Atkins makes me feel better than any way of eating and as a bonus I lose weight. Hope you all have good weigh ins!

Re: Week of November 19th Atkinites! =)

I am glad everyone is doing well and made it throught the day. Bekka, great job again staying away from temptation again. Tomorrow will be my toughest test as I have to attend a meeting that is having Pizza catered to it. I love Pizza and thinking about it now just makes me salivate. I am required to attend the whole meeting and sitting around a table with a box of Pizza in front of me just sounds really tough. So far I have been doing really well with my water and I think that tomorrow I will add more water in the morning than usual and eat larger breakfast than I normally do. Nothing crazy or anything just like a couple extra sausages. I am really nervous about this guys. A bad showing at the scale in the morning followed by closed door meeting that will have way more Pizza then needed could make for an awful bad recipe. Any suggestions on how to make it? I am actually tearing up over this now, I don't want to go back to that addiction. I must win tomorrow, I must.

Yea. I had a similar experience. I did few things, first I left early for lunch. I went to a salad bar, and made myself a decent salad plate with cucumbers, lettuce, baby spinach, egg, white wine vinegar and good portion of olive oil.

The olive oil gave me that feeling of not wanting to get even close to food. But still, the smell was irresistible. Make sure to walk-in with good size bottled water, each time you feel that you are close to thinking of it, take a sip.

Be sure to get yourself busy with a conversation or something and try to avoid looking at the pizza.

I hope this helps. Try that and let me know how it goes

Well. You could always eat the cheese from the Pizza, but I would rather not because then you'd end up wanting to have the bread along with it. I say, you bring a small snack to the meeting (something crunchy), along with water and whenever you feel yourself reaching for that one slice of pizza, you take a bite of your induction friendly food, or a sip of water. Another good way of making sure you don't eat it, is brush your teeth before the meeting. That minty fresh taste in your mouth does not go good with anything like pizza, it would taste horrid. I bet you lost a lot of weight. I can't wait til I find out how much. My thoughts and prayers are with you tomorrow and I know you can do it!

Futurrancher, I know exacatly where you are at. This is the hardest season. Just last week they had bagels come in. I tried to ignore it, but I did better by going over there looking at it and then I said no. The temptations is the hardest and especially a this time of the year. But think of it has the test before the big one. Thanksgiving. I have been invited to a freinds house and her and her husband can cook. Boy can they cook. It is going to be a craaaaaaaaazzzzzzzy day. Good think my stomach has strunk. I will try and get full off of the good stuff. Take some sugar free gum to chew on too, and take some sugar free jell-o or diet soda, then you won't feel so deprieved.

Good luck, I will be praying for you. Hang in there.

                  Is anyone feeling shy????
                  Shall I go first
                  (Drum roll and fanfare)...........
I have lost a grand totoal of............. 6lbs
I didn't think I would lose that much in 7 days. I cannot keep the smile off my face.
I just cannot believe that I have managed lose weight and feel satisfied with what I am eating. This is amazing. My jeans feel a little looser on the waist and thighs and that can only be a good thing.

Futurerancher - You can easily just eat the toppings and cheese off the pizza. Whenever I am at work luncheons they always order pizza, sandwiches, etc and I always eat around the bread. I just accept that I have to do whatever it takes to keep eating to plan.

Todd - Stick to the plan. The three pounds will come off. You might want to extend your induction to account for cheats so you can have 14 clean consecutive days.

                          Great job Inkylady!!

I Lost 4lbs. Not bad I think. Given the fact that I somehow managed to kinda violate the rules the first 3 days. Drank 3 diet sodas and a Fuze fruit punch a day for the first 3 days.

Well, I think I know how my body works. I have done few diet before (not Atkins though). I usually burn more fat the 2nd week than the first. Not bad for a start I guess.

Keep up the good work everybody..

Re: Week of November 19th Atkinites! =)

Goodmorning!!!! I've been waking up every few hours to pee (even though I stopped drinking at 9pm...) and of course because I was anxious to weigh myself. I was wondering though, if we could change the weigh in day to Wednesdays instead because Tuesdays don't work too well for me. The reasoning behind that is, is because I have to leave the house by 7 in order to get to class on time, but since I had to wait for my slow mom to wake up already, I'm already late in leaving. I did weigh myself, and I do feel a bit irritated, which means you know what is right around the corner. So, Wednesdays are much better for me. I can't afford to be late for a very important class that is only 13 miles away, but it takes 45 minutes to get there because California has the worst traffic ever.

Anyway, drumroll everyone. =) I lost 4 pounds!!! Yay! I'm so happy to see a result in the first week, honestly! Of course, this number might have been a bit more if I didn't have to start my favorite time of month soon (And of course for the cheating. -.-). I know I start soon because I am irritable and it's holiday. I always start on, or before a holiday. My life loves me that way. Sorry for the TMI. Heh heh. But yay! 4 pounds is indeed an accomplishment!

Good job on all you guys who did lose weight!! ANd Todd, don't get discouraged, it could be for any number of reasons. -hugs-

I'll catch up with you guys tonight. -sighs- My life is so hectic. Can't wait til this semester is over!!

Didn't I read in another thread that you've had a stomach upset for a few days? Maybe your body needs to deal with that first and foremost.
