Re: Week of November 19th Atkinites! =)

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. This is my second time around on Atkins. I started cutting back my carbs about 2 weeks ago and have lost 10 lbs. Today I "officially" began the induction phase. I feel great and very motivated. I've found so much encouragement on this forum so far. I'm happy I found this thread. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi Christy, Welcome. You will find a lot of encouragement here. We try to encourage each other to keep on keeping on... Im on my second time around too. This time around for me is a little bit tougher. The first time I was on atkins i lost around 50 pounds really fast back in 2005. This time is different, but im more determined to make this a part of my life.

          Hey guys!!

Finally I got my internet back. You have no idea how boring today was for me. -.- The only exciting part of today was getting to see American Gangster and spend time with my sweetie bun buns. =) Other than that, what a bore, for being my only day off for a really long time. My dad just loves doing that, turning off the internet at the most inopportune moments when we are all home and we have nothing to do. So, I had nothing to do and it totally sucked. I just sleep all day when he does that, or I just watch tv.

Well, I made it to day 6!! Wow! I can't believe it, it just breezed by so fast this last week!!! I'm in pain too, YAY!!! My bloatiness will finally go away, thank you God! -bows down- Yay. It hurts so bad. My mom was all, "Take some Ibuprofen..." I was all, naw, that's okay, I don't like drugging myself up, and then I realized I do every morning cause I have to. 0.0

Okay, so, how are you guys doing today? Been shopping, or lethargic? Let me know!! =)

Re: Week of November 19th Atkinites! =)

No shopping here, but no cheating eaither! Man, it is so not worth cheating as I have had to face cravings all day today again. 5 minutes of glory for 36 hours of anguish is just not worth it in my book. Hopefully lesson learned. Today was pretty layed back for me, I just chilled at home, went on several walks to run some errands and watched some Football. Other than that very low key. Plus, I got to put my cheat free button back on my signature.

Glad to see you stopped in Christy, good luck with everything and stay strong.

Bekka, sounds like you had a boring but relaxing day, which is good. Oh and Richard...Stay off the scales! I know it is tempting especially in your situation. You just quit smoking right? I wonder if that has something to do with stalling right out of the gate. Myabe your body is reacting differently to fat then it normally does. Maybe it will just take some time to respond. We will find out Wednesday and remember were all in this together.

Hey, back again. Seems pretty slow on here tonight. I guess it's because it's the weekend. I can't wait til Wednesday to see how much weight we all have lost. It's going to be amazing!!! ^_^ Especially if we have been working this hard towards not being able to cheat. I think we will see a much more drastic difference than last Tuesday's results, maybe? We'll see. I'm excited.

This pain needs to go away. I don't know if I can handle it at work. And why am I thirsty? I've had 100oz of water for the day, so why is my mouth telling me that I am thirsty? I don't quite understand that at all...am I supposed to be drinking more? I don't know. o.O

Gotta get to bed, I'm tired now. Night all!!

Re: Week of November 19th Atkinites! =)

Okay I did not want to confess but not a good. Everything was fine till after lunch. I am going to stop visting other people. Cheating .... so not worth it. I knew that last night. But I knew before Atkins that I was a sugar addict. One taste and it is hard to stop. But what I discovered tonight it is not even that good. I was not as bad as last night ... thanksgiving but still not good.

I am scared to get on the scale. I was not going to say anthing, but have if I don't tell someone it will just keeping going. Don't be easy on me ya'll let me have it. I have to get this weight off. I do not want to be on cholestorl med or a diabetic of which both runs in my family strong.

I just can't go visiting. Darn ... why did I do it. Darn.
The kicker is only thing good out of the cheating was DeAnnas cheating .... everything else . I am not stopping no matter what ... something said you can't do it. you will always be the fat girl ... just go crazy forget it. But I know it is more than just for looks and all that good stuff, my life depends on it.

Well, welcome everyone that came on new. The more the merrier. The more support. The best way to get out of a pity party is to think about others. Ya'll I have read the testimonies .... this can be done. This is our year, this is our time to shine. A baby never gets up and just starts walking ... they fall along the way and then pretty soon that baby is wobbling along. With help from family and friends that baby walks. So with each other we will walk Thank you all and good night. I got the post on the no cheat button but i still can't figure it out. But I guess I don't need it now.

Hey Bekka, Congrats on another day well done, for you and me!! hehe You are thirsty maybe because your body is in Ketosis? I know that doing atkins they say it makes you thirsty, but thats good keep drinking! Oh you can also get bad breath!!

Daina- well all "F" up sometimes!! You have to stop and think that everytime you cheat, you are cheating yourself. You're making yourself one day further away from your goal!! Work out twice as hard and stick to the plan. When you go to a friends why not try bringing your own snacks/ You could bring celery with cream cheese wrapped in ham! A salad in a tupperware container...We are here for you...

Well I had a good day/night. I did my work out that I've been doing 5x a week. 45 mins of cardio, a ton of different crunches equals out to about 210+ (3 reps of 10 for each move) 3 reps of 10 of squats (god these KILL ME!), and 3 reps of 10 push ups. I want to buy some weights and do some moves for my arms with that....anyone know of any home exercises I can do for my arms and back??? Thanx so much in advance. have a good nite all.

Oh shoot... I forgot to ask..uhmmm

Is it ok for me to NOT weigh myself this week coming week? I want to wait til day 15 to weigh myself. I dont know why but thats just the date I chose. I am going to measure myself as soon as I find my measuring tape!! haha

Another thing while I remember. I did some shopping this evening at walmart with the kids. I walked down the pop and chip isle, past the ice cream, past all the delicious chocolate bars and I DID have a few minutes where I was walking around thinking in my head "Oh I can have one night to cheat, just get a few treats" But I kept walking around the store and thought of more and more reasons NOT to...and I did it yay!! Death to cravings! lol

Good morning! everyone was up late last night i see. Kristen its ok to weigh on the day you picked, im sure noone will mind...Everyone is doing great. Its great to see that noone is throwing away the towel, and not giving up! Brian, smoking may have something to do with my weight fluctuating. I will try my best to stay off my new scales. It seems that at one time they made that a challenge, will have to look for it, or start my own....looks like a lot of people on this site has a problem getting on the scale too soon. Well im off to eat my breakfast. Im already drinking my decaff. i will fix scrambled eggs. bacon, sausage, and a couple of slices of tomato....Have a great day!

                        Goodmorning you guys!! =)

Kristen, I'm so glad that you found our little group! The more the merrier and I think it helps that we encourage and motivate each other as much as we can. You're doing great with not cheating! Don't you dare give up now because you are going to look absolutely gorgeous when all that weight is off. You already look gorgeous, but keep on doing what you're doing!!! And ignorning that icecream!! Way to go!! I work in a grocery store and I walk by tempting stuff all the time. Believe me, it's hard, but I just ignore it and think about my juicy steak that I will be having for lunch...mmmm.

Todd, I think it might be the smoking. Also, I know you don't want to give up the coffee, but that could also inhibit you from losing weight as well. Some people can do it and others can't, I guess it all depends on their metaboli resistince. Coffee, even though decaf, could just well be like diet coke or any other soda. So maybe you could try cutting that out of your diet. I'm not saying you have to, it's just a suggestion. But don't give up. We all need to be in this together. =)

Heya Brian! =) Glad to see you back in the game and you're right, it's so not worth having to go through all that anguish, just because of cheating the night before! Way to go man, you're doing a great job! =)

As for me, I just ate my breakfast and I have to hop in the shower and head on down to work. Oy, another long day for me. It seems like yesterday went by in a flash. That depresses me. Oh, the sadness. =( I'm going to be in uber pain today, which I don't want to at all, but what can one do? At least I don't have the induction flu anymore, that was horrible, messing with my mood like that. Sheesh.

Well!! Good luck you guys! And my goodness, tonight is going to be day 7 of being cheatfree!! wOOt! I plan on adding another week once I complete and see how long I can go. I am so determined now because I actually made one of my goals!! ^^ Well...almost....

It is totally fine not to weigh yourself till the 14 days of induction are over. Actually this is the recommended way of checking how much you lost during induction.

Good day everyone. I made some of those Cream cheese muffins last night and they are outstanding. I cut back on the cream cheese though and used 4 ounces instead of 8, anyways here is my recipe...

4 oz cream cheese (4 net carbs)
1/4 cup whole organic psyllium husk (box claims zero net but I counted 1)
                            3 eggs (3 net carbs)
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream (4 net carbs)
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract (1 net carb)
                            a touch of Stevia.

I just mixed it all up, seperated them out in a muffin pan and baked for 30 minutes at 350. It is basically the same recipe others have used here I just altered it so I could add the psyllium husk. By the way, the batter taste exactly like Tapioca putting. Yesterday was the first day that I have used Stevia and it is great as it doesn't seem to push me over the edge like Splenda does. The whole recipe has 12 carbs or 2 carbs per muffin. I needed a way to help get things "moving" and psyllium husk seemed as good as any. Speaking of that, How is your diarreah going Richard? Perhaps that could be the culprit id your body is getting rid of the fat before it has a chance to interact with it and kick on the burners?

I did it,I actually made it a cheat free day. Went with some friends to celebrate a young girl in our church who just turned 21. We went bowling. When time came for cake and punch we sanged happy birthday and I helped cut the cake. When everyone had their piece, they asked what peice I wanted and I said none. They said come on Daina .... a small piece don't eat the frosting ... you can work it off ... come on Daina. I said no thank you. I told T. if you love me you would not ask me to have any. I actually said no this time. 3rd time is a charm. I failed thanksgiving, day after but tonight I resisted .... ya whoo! I am back in the game.
