    Re: Looking for some buddies.

good morning all, got a busy day planned for myself, my mom and i are having a garage sale today at her house. she moved into a new(to her) home and still hasn't sold the old one. we are combining the garage sale with an open house. got my food ready to take with me tuna salad for lunch, and some cheese and pepperoni for snacks. she has a basement in the house so i thought for exercise i could do some stair climbing for exercises today.

last night i didn't get my walk in, because hubby wanted to go out to watch cars drag race at a local track. because of high water on the track race was only 1/8th mile races. hubby got bored quick, so when we left i got the bright idea to go to batting cages. we spent about 30 mins or so just batting balls. kinda fun and creative way to get moving.

well gotta go. will be early in the evening before i can get back online.
hope everyone has a great day.

        Good Morning Buddies!

billbazz...you should be proud of yourself!!! Feeling like it or not....flopping around like a fish or not...you CHOOSE to do your exercises anyway. That is HUGE. You didn't use your feelings as an excuse to not do them. Fake it 'til you make it!!! You will be successful!

Monie...ditto on what bill said! I bet it was fun at the batting cages. How are you feeling today. Different muscles used for that. Good luck with the yard sale and the exercising today. Funny note...last weekend I had a yardsale with my Mom too!

Stevedrk, LouisWu, FutureRancher....where are you guys?? How are you doing?

Okay..be strong everyone over the weekend. Check in as soon as you can. Bill your start date is tomorrow. You can do it! Follow your plan and you will succeed! I will check in a few more times hopefully before we are booted off.

        Be a good day!

            Re: Looking for some buddies.

Actually though we were expecting the board to be down for 48 hours, it might not be that long as it seems some of the transferring has been done already.

So you might not be alone for too long after all!!

                  Re: Looking for some buddies.

Hey bill...I was thinking. I know you have been buying Atkins cookbooks at the yardsale and making your menus. You need to double check your ingredients with DANDR 2002 issue as those foods allowed in later issues are not allowed on the plan we follow here. IE: low carb bread or tortillas. Shakes have been known to stall a lot of people and are not recommended during induction. There is a pocket size food list you can print out in the stickies in the main forum I think. Just thought I would throw that at you.

                    Re: Looking for some buddies.

first of all, welcome to our new buddies tiredoffat and snow4rt(sorry i didn't welcome you sooner snow)

back from the garage sale, we closed it down about an hour early due to the heat. it's like 95 degrees today, luckily it was very windy so it didn't feel so bad most of the day until about 4. then we decided to shut it down. having it tomorrow too, but not quite as long as we had it opened today.
i must confess i had a caffiene free diet pepsi today, only because i only took one 32 oz bottle of water with me and it only lasted until about 11:30. i know the aspertame is bad, but there is no running water in the house and i couldn't refill my water bottle. i have went 3 days with no caffiene though, so i'm happy about that. just felt like i needed to come clean about the pepsi.

i managed to get some of those stairs climbed, went up an down them a total of 10 times each way. not as much as i wanted to do, but atleast it was something.

to those of you starting tomorrow, be strong and remember that each day gets a little easier.

thanks elizellen for the update of the site upgrade and down time, hopefully it won't be as long as they have originally expected. i forgot how addicting this site is....lol

                    gotta go for now.

Well..there were worse things you could have done monie! Plan for tomorrow. I always have a few water bottles in the freezer half- 3/4 full. Then when I need to go somewhere I top them off and they are still cold for when I need them.

                        Re: Looking for some buddies.

Wanted to clarify about the pumpkin. 1/2 cup canned is 10 carb...4 fiber so net 6 gram carbs.

tried .5 oz pepperoni slices microed for about 45 minutes on a paper towel then added .5 oz cheddar cheese and microwaved it again. YUMMY! Crispy..chip like. Definately easy to over eat.

Am trying taco meatballs tonight. They are in the oven cooking. I will eat mine with spaghetti squash and butter and the kids will eat theirs with wholewheat spaghetti.

                        Hope everyone is going strong.

Still fighting here, I can't believe I made it through the week! I tried a new recipe last night that was great! I used whole psyllium husk as the breading for butter fried chicken. I have to keep things flowing as that is what doomed me last time.

i love pepperoni microwaved like that, definately easy to eat too much. i also used to make these little faux goldfish treats. where you cut a slice of cheese into 16 pieces spread them out on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. sprinkle garlic salt and chili powder on them and set them under the broiler until they start to bubble and turn light golden brown. taste just like goldfish crackers, they just aren't as crispy as the goldfish are. i only allow myself to use 2 pieces of cheese at a time when i fix them cause i could eat my weight in them if i didn't. good thing hubby likes 'em cause then we share and i can't eat all of them.

gotta go fix dinner for DH and myself....he's been working on our car all day and i've been waiting and snackin' of some veggies till he was done, but i can't wait any more. i'll be too hungry if i don't start sometime soon.

                            take care everyone.

Hey rancher...good to see you checking in. Your dinner sounds yummy and good for you too! Keep up the great work. Isn't it great that we learned from our mistakes last time!?

monie....yes the cheese crisps can be just as deadly! Have a great dinner.

The taco meatballs turned out good. I would like them a little spicier but the kids gave them a 10. Loved them with the spaghetti squash and butter. Yum-o.

                              Drink your water.

And just in case I will say good night now.

hey rancher, your fried chicken gave me an idea for my dinner tonight. i had some fresh chicken legs, and basted them with butter, then sprinkle them with cajun seasonings and put them in the oven. i hope they are good. hubby was supposed to make a pot roast for me tonight but since he ended up working on car all day didn't get a chance. just waiting for hubby's friend that stopped by to leave so he can shower and we can eat. oh yeah and guess what, hubby gonna have to make pot roast for me tomorrow since he didn't tonight.....hehehehe

elsie, those taco meatballs sound good, i saw a recipe for them on here just a while ago. i think i might try those this weekend, and make a bunch for next week to take to work for a snack. gosh, can't believe my vacation is almost over.

                                well, see y'all later!
