Hi everyone. I have a quick question and I don't want to start a new tread. Tuesdays and Thursdays I have about a 15 minute break between 7:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The break is at 12:15 p.m. (hopefully) and lasts until 12:30 p.m. Any suggestions what I might stash in my briefcase so I can have something resembling a meal between those hours? Will hard boil eggs keep or something?

I'll have about 10 minutes to inhale the mock lunch. I don't like "meal replacement bars" because they are too sweet. My taste buds lean towards the Neanderthal, "if it had a mother I'd eat it" side.

Creamed Turnip sounds great!. Although I'm trying to avoid the higher carb veggies as much as possible in my first 2 weeks....

I had a homemade spiced Sirloin Burger ( just safe spices ) with 1 slice of tomatoe, 1 cucumber slice, 1 oz of cheese , mustard and ceaser dressing on top. I put my burger in a Revolution Roll from Linda's recipes. Those are really good!

I would get one of those soft cooler bags & a small ice pack. Hard boiled eggs would keep in a cooler bag w/ice BUT they leave that tell-tale aroma in the room which may not be desirable.

          Some suggestions:

Rolled up slices of deli chicken or turkey breast or roast beef or ham
          Cold roasted chicken legs
*Individual cans of chilled V8 (preferably low sodium)--not suitable for Induction.
Some cuke slices, bell pepper and/or zucchini (courgette for our Brit readers) sticks.
Try to get some water in too.

ETA: tuna or chicken salad w/chopped celery in a little tupperware-type bowl...make sure to pack a fork.

I see you mention V8. I've been craving V8 but didn't think it was induction friendly???? Doesn't it have like 8g of sugar (not from refined added sugar) and carrot juice???

Sorry cherribom, good call! Norman is on OWL. V8 does have some carrot juice and that is not in Induction. The sugars (5g) are those naturally occurring in the veggies. The net carb count for V8 is 6g net carbs (veggie carbs).

This recipe ---- Induction Friendly---makes V8 juice taste like a mowed lawn.

Anyhow, I'm having that gazpacho (made with my own veggies from my garden) along with roasted salmon.

Lasagne I used my pre-atkins recipe, substituting zucchini (courgette) sliced lengthwise for noodles. I made four 4x8 pans of it & froze three.
