Yea that's what I was thinking. They have one with added yolk now but still not much added and its like half the fat of an egg. So I am just going to keep my 5 doz count for my cooking and then buy a fresh 6 pack when I make the nog

        Re: eggnog shake for breakfast!!!

Honestly, I read this just yesterday and my very first thought on this was *puke** but after reading all the great positive feedback from those who tried it... I too decided to try it and I loved it. I just tried it today and I have already ordered the Capella drops in 4 different flavors because I intend to keep making it. I never had a problem with eggs but after almost 3 weeks of having them for breakfast... I could hardly even look at another one. I am happy to say that I look forward to drinking my eggs
I added some sugar free Hazelnut coffe syrup to mine and it was amazing. I wonder if I added cream cheese maybe I could almost turn it into a liquid cheese cake drink..lol My mind is just working OT counting the ways I'm going to try this.

Hmm.. Every time I think about the texture of drinking this, I think of slime sliding down the back of my throat!
I am going to have to give this a try... I need a quick breakfast for my go go life style. What are pumkin cubes? Somebody said something about those earlier.

                Thanks

It does sound wierd, but it really has a more milky texture than egg

Well, I think I'm going to have a new favorite meal!

I tried another "fake shake" today and I made it with:

                      2 eggs (2 carbs)
1 stick of Purevia (1 countable carb)
4 Tablespoons of Creamer (2 carbs)
1/4 tsp or so of cinammon
                      1 tsp. instant coffee
1 T flax seed oil -for added fat and other health bfts
                      3-4 ice cubes
1/4 cup low carb butter pecan ice cream - made with Splenda (2 countable Carbs)
2 teasponfulls of sugarfree Hazelnut syrup (made with Splenda 0 carbs or sugar per 2 Tablespoons serving size)
                      2-3 oz of water

It tasted like a Vanilla Nut Shake... so good

                      Total Net carbs: 7

Yum!! Delicious and for you "chickens" - lol it is not slimmy and doesn't taste at all like eggs so come on and try it already!!

As far as eating eggs raw..I look at it this way..I have eaten raw cookie dough in the past....Tell me who hasnt? And that has raw eggs in it! Also I have eaten sushi...Raw fish...So raw eggs shouldnt be THAT hard for sushi eaters to try! I think we have been brainwashed about not eating raw eggs by the same media that tells us we shouldnt eat saturated fat.....There are people who eat meat rare too...all examples that might help you get past the "raw" thing....lol....Oh and Hey that place ( Capellas ) has alot of the flavor drops on sale for 50% off right now! It might be a great time to try a few! I just ordered some. I cant wait for them to get here !

I'll be sure to let you know! I got a bunch of the half price ones....and I cant wait! I like the idea of adding chocolate flavor to my shakes without having to use cocoa....which adds carbs!

I think cocoa is pretty healthy stuff (but then again I am a chocolate freak - hence my weight problem) but once you are on rung 3 - you can use it if it works for you. There are healthy stuff in cocoa - once we eliminate the sugar we usually eat it with - and because of the fibre in cocoa - not too carby.

                                Hey sugarfreeone,
you make some good points. and if anyone's had homemade egnogg they were eating raw eggs!
but for me what was scaring me was the texture, too thick and slimy. it turns out that it's not nearly as think as storebought egnogg, it's more like milk!

I've still been having it every day for breakfast, and it's made a huge difference for me. breakfast has been the part of atkins that I always slacked on, always meaning to get to it at some point, and then being starved by lunch because I hadn't eaten anything.
this way I stay on plan, and it doesn't even feel like I'm making this huge effor to get something down.
