I'm gonna make this for dinner. Sounds delish! Mine will just be eggs, heavy cream, sweetener and nutmeg.

Well, it wasn't every thing I ever dreamed of, but it was good enough. I would make it again.

'THIS SOUNDS DUSGUSTING' Was my initial reaction.

        Eggs make me nauseous and I don't really like breakfast, but I tried it and;

        WOW, DELICIOUS!

        Eggs
Vanilla Extract or Almond Extract (tiny bit - has carbs)
        Heavy Cream
        Splenda
        Ice

        = Holy deliciousness, Batman!

Has anyone tried this with eggbeaters? Its pasturized so would be "safer" right? But what I am not sure about is the ingredients says it has onion of some sort. I don't like onion to begin with and can't imagine it going together with vanilla.

Egg beaters only use the egg whites. Too much protein and no fat. You are better to use the whole egg. The fat is what you need. The yolk is where most of the nutrition is.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

TY Sunny! I do think they make a version with egg yolks in it now but appreciate the input. I wasn't thinking about the fat content of it.

UPDATE! Tried it again with freshly ground flax and it was STILL truly delicious. Plus you feel good about all that fiber & EFA!

Okay, really dumb question, but do you think you could make a batch of two or three servings and refrigerate or freeze the rest for the next day? Either way, I'm definitely trying this out over the weekend! Great post, OP!

I don't think it would taste nearly as good 10 minutes after it's made, let alone an entire day! The frothiness would disappear and the consistency would probably be pretty gross.

The great thing about this drink is that it really takes no time to make!

I've done some research on the effects of consuming RAW EGGS.

Turns out that consuming raw eggs makes the protein far less digestible than cooked.

When cooked, an egg's protein is about 91% digestible. When raw, it falls way down to 51%. Isn't that funny? The digestibility is significantly enhanced just by heating it.

So, while delicious, the protein count in this shake isn't entirely accurate.

can this recipe be used during induction?
is there any substitute for heavy cream? I am living in brazil, not sure they have it in the supermarket
and as far as adding the vanilla....is that vanilla extract?

                            Olá fofinha!

This recipe can be used for induction. I tried it with Vanilla extract - Yum!

In Brazil, there is a heavy cream available "Nestle Creme de Leite". It's made with 25% butterfat as opposed to the american 35%. But it is definitely looks atkins friendly. (Link below)

Interesting. Could you point us to your source? My understanding is that this was somewhat of an open question, but if you found something more recent and definitive, I'd love to check it out and learn more....
