    Hi, Liz

Here is the recipe I posted in another thread:
About the pumpkin - I use Libby's canned pumpkin that is probably located next to the baking items in the grocery store. Make sure to read the label carefully so that you pick up the 100% pure pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling, which is also made by Libby's and looks a lot like the pie filling, which has sugar in it. Here is the recipe for what I eat:

In a bowl, I mix 1/2 of a can of pumpkin (which is .88 cups) with 2 ounces of cream cheese. I put this in the microwave for 45 seconds then take it out and stir well. I then add a few drops of liquid Splenda, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 2 teaspoons of allspice and stir. I am past rung 3 in OWL and eating 35 to 40 net carbs, so I also add 1 ounce of almonds, which is about 22 that I cut in half (so I can have 44 nuts ). I then put it back in the microwave for about 50 seconds, stir, and it is done. I find that the warmer it is, the better it tastes. And I really, really love this stuff. Beware, though! This concoction contains 15 net carbs. So anyone who doesn't want to use up that many carbs can leave out the nuts and/or cut back on portion sizes of the ingredients. It is also has a high fat percentage, but I don't stress over that. This makes a lot, too, so you may not need to make this much. My husband always talked about how good it smells when I make it, so I made it for him one day. He couldn't finish it all because it is kinda rich. Cutting this in half would have been enough for him. I always finish mine.

Kathy, sugar snap peas are the fat ones that I buy bagged in the salad cooler of the grocery store. The flat ones in stir fry are called snow peas. I can't find sugar snap peas on any list to verify whether they are acceptable for Induction or not. In the book and on the Nutritional Spreadsheet that I frequently use in the FAQ forum it only lists snow peas, which are acceptable for Induction. I use the nutrition information from the bag... there are 3 servings in the bag I buy. I open the bad, and divide the pods into 3 piles, which I bag up and eat 1 serving per day. Each serving has 5 net carbs. Damn, thery are sooooo good! Perfect snack for when I'm working in the boutique... nice and portable and not messy.

Is it me, or do y'all find the book sorely lacking in the OWL department? I have read the book cover to cover a few times over the years, and lately have taken to just opening it at random and reading to brush up on things. Am I missing the detailed list of which foods can be added on each rung? For example, where is a detailed list of starchy veggies? I already knew that butternut and acorn squash were starchy veggies, but I can't remember how I knew that... probably from the board, because I couldn't find it in the book this morning when I looked. Liz said yesterday that she verified about the squashes from the book yesterday, but where? Sometimes I don't see things that are right in front of my face.

K..thanks Mitzi...I couldn't find them on any list either. Well I'm off to do a little grocery shop today and sugar snap peas are on the list for sure. I LOVE THEM!

I'll do what you suggest and divide them up and bag them. YUM...I can't wait!

        Thanks again for the info.

Ok..this mornings breakfast is 1 cup pumpkin, 1 oz cream cheese, stevia sweetener, 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice

I'll post lunch and dinner when I figure out exactly what it is I feel like today.

            Carrots
            Green Peas

Ok...now I'm confused. I went looking on the net for Sugar Snap Peas and info on if they were safe for induction.

On SugarFreeSheila.com there was this information from her.

On Induction, how come veggies like peas, corn, & potatoes aren't allowed?
These actually aren't vegetables at all; peas are legumes, corn is a grain, and potatoes are merely root-tubers - and rather starchy at that!

Does this mean all pea's are legumes? And does this mean you can't eat the sugar snap peas even on the veggie rung 1. HELP!

                Hey Joy,

Thanks for the input. I was wondering about that - but I was finding it hard to get my fat% high enough without the extra cheese.

I guess one egg instead of two and more veggies at breakfast would be good too.

This weird actually because in my usual way of eating on Atkins (on rung 9) I find it really hard to get enough protein and too much fat is the issue.

                Such a balancing act!

We interrupt this thread for this message

If you are still in ketosis, there is no need to go back to Induction level carbs or to the Induction Phase.

If you are still in ketosis, all you have to do is drop back 5 net carbs, dropping to a lower rung isn't necessary. So if you were at 35 net carbs daily and you fall off, drop back to 30 net carbs. You can stay at the same carb rung while you do this.

Now we return to the thread already in progress.
