Hey Don----what's the uniform you're wearing in the before pic? Are you a captain?

Thanks Joy! I feel younger that's for sure!

Actually, I was playing the part of the captain in the murder mystery that we wrote, 'Murder on the Mauretania'. I was Capt. Ken Garu. I guess that was because I looked like Capt. Kangaroo back then.

      Not now though!

Re: 10 More Pounds To Go and Moving On Down

Even though I reached goal, I am still losing. I am now officially in Onederland!!! Yippee!!! I hit 199 this morning. If I lose 2 more pounds I will be exactly 1/2 the man I used to be at my heaviest weight. Is this a great WOE or what?

I thought 200 was an extremely agressive goal when I set it 18 months ago. Maybe I was wrong. I figured that considering my age, and how long I had been overweight (I was 23 years old when I last weighed in at 200 lbs), that it was probably a weight that I would be most comfortable at. My body fat % is in the acceptable range now, but maybe my body metabolism has changed so much that I very well may end up at even a lower weight. I guess time will tell. For now, I am extremely happy just to be where I am.

So now that you're at goal, more pounds are gonna come whooshing off to give you a cushion!! What a great deal!!
Next time I call a talk radio show to correct their misconceptions of Atkins, I'm going to refer them to this board and terrific losers like you!

I guess that is the case. I lost another pound and am down to 198! I wonder now where I am going to end up. I'm really not trying to lose, but it is still coming off. Not that I am complaining. Last week I averaged just under 1900 calories, about 100 fat grams, about 65 net carbs, about 125 protein grams and my ratios were pretty much at maintenance levels of 50% fat, 30% protein, and 20% carbs.

You look marvelous! But, I gotta tell you...the tux is still too big! One of these days you'll really believe just how fit and trim you really are. Well done, my friend!

                  Woo Hoo, Don!

I haven't been to this thread in a couple of days. Look at you! How about that?

I know what you mean about goal weights... my original one was 140. I mean, when you're 5' 2.5" and weigh 215, 140 looks unbelievable. Never in my wildest dreams, did I ever believe I could weigh in the 120's.

I reckon you'll know when you're done, when you're done.

Thanks Mitzi! I think you are right. I will know it when I get there. You are a testament to that!

Here is another picture that was taken this week of me with my lovely bride. We had a true American hero, Congressman Sam Johnson and his wife Shirley at our house for a coffee. It was a great photo op. Some people will go to great extremes. I won't hold that against him for wanting to come by the house though to get a picture with me! LOL

Well, I am up a pound this week, but still in Onderland at 199 and I am still losing inches though and did finally fit into those size 36 pants (same size that I wore in high school). Though they are still a tad snug (great motivation), it isn't too bad for a guy who used to wear size 60's! I still have one suit that is that size, just as a reminder.

My calories last week were up about 300 calories more per day than the week before and my net carb intake average was up a little as well. Last week I averaged 2191 calories per day (still below what I figure my total BMR to be), and I averaged 122g fat at 51%, 146g protein at 27%, and 70g net carbs at 23%.

I am still bouncing up and down between 198 and 199. I will drop a pound and then gain a pound. I guess my body is settling in and getting comfortable in its new home! Kind of like moving the furniture around in a room until you find the best placement!
