  • Do the ICES CHALLENGE with Sarah and Yoly

    What is the Ices Challenge you may ask well. It's a challenge actually between 2 friends Yoly and myself. You see we have been getting a little slack and so we wanted to challenge between eachother to eliminate the things that have gotten a little out of control.

    I - Induction (we're going back to induction for a fresh start)
    C- no Cream ( we both realize that we have gotten a little carried away with the cream)
    E- Exercise ( no excuses)
    S- No scale ( the scale is the worst guage of progress so we a ditching it for a month)

    I would love it if we had more people join but for now we will post how we are doing from day to day. I think this will be a great challenge to get me back in the losing game.

    It looks great Sarah, I was so excited about the new challenge that I decided to do 1.5 miles on my WATP tapes.

    Here's to a great new start. We will both be at goal in no time!

      I'm doing really well so far this morning the cream has been screaming my name but, I didn't have any. My hubby hid the scale my start weight is 211 as of this morning and I'll check again in a month. Man that's gunna be hard as heck....

      Great job on the exer5cise that's the way to start the challenge. I am going to check out a gym here today maybe I'll join they are supposed to have a great kid are and you don't have to pay well we'll see.

        Hey you are doing great! I hate to weigh myself today because I am on TOM and I can't get a good guage on what my true weight is, as of this morning I weighed 199. I put away the scale, and have not eaten any cream.

        I am having major stomach cramps, may I just say: TOM, sucks! I can barely move so I may not do much excercise today.

        Took my daughter to the circus this morning, it was so fun. She loved it, they had a little elephant and Abigail went nuts when she saw it. Does climbing 150 steps count as excercise? Hope your having a nice day, and that your gym membership works out. I can't wait until August 22, my University has an awesome/award winning workout area with rockclimbing, tennis coarts, heated olympic size pools, etc. I get a membership each semester that I am enrolled in school. So I get to go there again soon. I am really looking forward to it.

          Did my WATP tape this morning, 3 miles with weights. Well, really I use two cans of soup, but they count as weights (he he). My daughter won't let me use the hot pink 1 pound weights I bought her, so I am resigned to the cans until I build up my resistance.

            I did good yesterday NO CREAM YAY. I played outside with my kids all day and I felt really burnt. I was really trying to get on the treadmill but, it didn't work out so I played instead. I had company last night it was really awesome I don't get company too often they stayed over night. They even bought me some Low carb beer. I had 1 I didn't want to mess up my induction too much I don't feel any ill effects or cravings so I think it's ok.

            Today is my long run outside I can't wait hubby is home so I can actually go and run outside and get a really great workout. I sure hope it goes well.

            Take care Yoly sounds like you're doing aweosme I put my scale away took out the battery so I can focus only at the task at hand. I am looking forward to the weigh day on September 6th I may be in Onederland by then that would be an excellent 1 month present.

              Hey I heard about your 12K run that is awesome! I can't believe you can run like that, maybe one day I'll be able to keep up. Glad to hear that you had friends over, that is always lots of fun.

              As for me after walking three miles this morning I decided to really clean up my house, I ended up sweeping and mopping my entire first floor, that's 1100 sq. feet. Yikes! My arms and my back are so sore, I can barely life them. I looked up the calories on the net, and total burned today is 863. I only ate 1363 so that means that I only have 500 impact calories for the day. If I am doing the math right, that means I lost .48 pounds today alone! I really hope I got that right, but seeing as I can't weight, I won't be able to tell you tomorrow, grrr.

              I can't wait until September 6th to weigh either, wouldn't it be awesome if I was in the 180's, even if it was 189 I would be thrilled.

              I tried on wedding dresses today, fun! I was surprised to see that I did not look like a cow. More details when next we chat. Have a nice night.

                Ya, yesterday went awesome I ran and ran I went out and we drove the course I was pretty close I went 11.3 kms so I am pretty darn happy with that my walk at the end made it 12 kms. WOW to go that far was amazing. I'm not too sore today my hip flexors are a bit achy but, other then that not too bad so I am thinking my body is really getting used to this. I seem to be able to run better outside then if I run inside I get tired sooo easy JEEEZE.

                I'm goint t be doing major stretching and weights today so that'll be good not runnning today I think that it would be good but, tomorrow I'll run.

                  I ate leftover meatballs this morning I was sooo hungry Oh goodness, I had 5 of them now I'm stuffed. SO for luch I am having a big salad with some tuna on it that'll be sooo good. MMM can't wait.

                  I am sitting here right now drinking a cup of coffe get this NO CREAM I'm drinking it black and it's not soo bad but, I am craving my comfort cream Oh dear. I can do this I can do this.

                  The weighing part isn't soo bad so far. I took the battery out of my scale so I am not tempted at all to even stand on it. I am probably going to be gettign antsy in 2 weeks but, I CAN DO IT I CAN DO IT>>>

                    Yes you can do it, look at you you are doing great already. Sorry I wasn't around much today. We had 2 play dates scheduled for today and somewhere in the middle I had to fit in a nap, can you say hectic?

                    You know what, after reading all about your running I feel like getting out there myself. It is raining lightly now, which if I ever run, I love to run in the rain. I'm gonna strap on my tennis, check back in when I'm done, If I haven't passed out yet. Who knows maybe it won't be as bad as I think.

                      Good for you that would be excellent we can be running partners. I am really enjoying it now that my body is accustomed to it and I feel like super woman LOL.

                      I am so glad you're doing soo well and I totally know about hecktic scheduals I have one myself.

                      Oh I ate my HUGE salad for lunch with bacon bits, small tomatos and eggs on it it was divine.
                      For supper I had a large steak and about 2 cups of celery stocks it's a good time for those soo nummy.

                        Well I went out and jogged for 15 minutes before collapsing back in my car and driving home. I am such a wimp! Oh well, maybe I'm not a runner. I only went out for a tiny bit and my legs are really sore this morning, also me knees hurt quite a bit. I'll try again, maybe tomorrow and see if I can build up my endurance but if not I'll just stick to what works for me. I would like to be a jogger, but I don't know if i've got what it takes. Luckily my side didn't start cramping, which is what usually happens while I jog. I think if I had some headphones I could ignore how hard I'm breathing, or something. I'll try that next time.

                        Luckily I played rather vigourously with abi yesterday, so I had gotten some light excercise in for the day. Combined I burned about 350 calories. But I had buffalo wings for dinner, they always cause my calories to get too high. I noticed that trend by checking up on fitday. So I think it is time to say good-bye to the wings, sigh. Oh well, I definatly enjoyed them while I could.

                        I have been slipping on my supplements. I have a hard time taking them, but I had been doing really well. Then my slip, and I haven't had them for about 5 days, so this morning I am recommiting. I will take my supplements every morning before eating breakfast. The S in ICES for me stands for scale and supplements.

                        Oh, and I am having one of those feeling skinny days!

                          Skinny days are the best. I feel like I've lost some inches I don't know why but, my abs are really poking out so I know I've lost something which is really exciting. These are the days I want my poor little scale but, I won't have it darn it I am commited to this challenge and I don't wanna see till my 10 Month anniversary. WOOHOO.

                          Any how this morning is a slow start for me I got up a little late all my kids for some reason slept in I'm not complaining and I don't ahve any extras till 5pm WOW that's unusual. I got up this morning and I had to take my 2 little thyroid pills cytomel and synthyroid for my Hypo so I can't eat for 1 hour man that sucks cause I'm starving.

                          I'm not sure what I'll have for breakfast probably a couple HB eggs I made up 2 days ago that ought to be goo enough I can't eat too much in the morning.

                          Yoly try not to kill yourself when you run be sure it doesn't hurt while you are doing it. When you start your so gung ho to do it maybe you're going a bit too fast sweety slow down and see how that is. BE SURE you have good runners a lot of pain an aching is from poor runner or worn out ones. If you are starting to run buy yourself a pair that you will only use for that I have Adidas. I don't buy cheep runners for running cause that would be like leg suiside. Really the runners really do help a lot. Try not to run every day if you're sore walk today give your body a break and try again tomorrow. It's not a race it's taken me 9 months to get where I am now so don't worry about that. ANy exercise no matter what is better then no exercise. OH< and 15 Minutes For not having run WOW that's really awesome and you should be so very proud of yourself. The first time I jogged I went 7 minues if it makes you feel better I was 255 lbs at the time LOL. A heavyweight.

                          It's running day for me today I'm not sure if I should just go downstars and tear nup the treadmill or wait for hubby to come home after 5 and do it then HMMM. I'll probably do 3 miles on the treadmill and see how I feel when he gets home sounds good to me.

                          I am still stiff today all that stretching did help some my abs are hurting so I know the crunches did something.

                          Any how I better be off check back later.

                            I am having a wonderful day WOOHOO. I have soo much energy it's amazing I am tearing up my treadmill. I found out what was wrong with it. Well, let me tell you I got on it the other day and well I had moved it from it's usual position so I could look out the window. I didn't level it OOPS. Here I thought it was level and for the past week I have been running on a 1% incline NO WONDER it was sooo freaken hard I thought I had lost all my endurance and I was having really tight claves and stuff. That should have se off a bell. But, it didn't. I leveled it out and today it was sooo much better to run I did 4.53 miles in 60 minutes and walked the other half mile. To make my grand total for today 5 miles. It went well I was running really strong and was interval training I took about 8 minutes off my time of my usual 4 miles in 60 so I was very impressed with myself.

                            I am havaing a late lunch cause today went to **** in a hand basket so I'll be eating right away here not sure what yet, but, I'll have somehting good I'm sure.

                              LOL, look at you running on an incline and not even knowing it, great job. 5 miles for the day is awesome, we are both doing so good.

                              I did my WATP tape, so 3 miles, but I am now usint 2 pound weights instead of 1 pound chicken soup cans.

                              I remember when I first started this WOE I didn't do any excercise at all. I thought, man this is so easy, no excercise and I am still losing. Then the stall started setting in and I had to move to lose the pounds. It was hard at first, I hated excercise. I am slowly growing to love it. In fact I look forward to my walks now, I never would have thought that was possible back in December before I started.
