LOL. OK. You're from Nebraska. 'nuff said.

I WAS attacked personally no matter how much you're trying to kiss the cult leaders' butts by smoothing things over. You're a fellow cultist and it's too bad because that kind of attitude drives off some good people. Wouldn't it be nice to get REAL PEOPLES' opinions instead of just the comfortable clique that exists here? OH NO I questioned some aspects of Atkins. I must now go to ****. All the clique and cult members act like he's Jesus and your personal martyr.

I am still confused on what the unhealthy foods you are allowed to eat during Induction are. You say we should know already. Is it the red meat? Is it the saturated fats? I am actually curious what you think is unhealthy about this diet because I simply have not seen it. Tell me one indicator of my or my impending unhealthy nature, and I will check it. Maybe it was the amount of weight to lose or maybe it is just personality that at parties I don't care about what is found there. I no longer have to eat whereever I go. I have been in 6 week long training sessions where the main fare was definitely not Atkins-friendly, but I made it through.

As for being closed-minded, I am certainly willing to accept others opinions that what they may be doing works for them. HOWEVER that was not where you stopped (respect my eating or the Winthorp69 plan for ultimate weight happiness), but then you went on to insinuate that what we was unhealthy or gazaleh inferring that lifetime without "cheating" was impossible. Both have been wrong countless times, so if you want to continue in your path fine.

I can only recommend what has worked for me and the science I know behind it.

Please watch your tone. I am entirely willing to let this debate go on here, but there is no need to insult the board or people here. This board is for everyone, and adults should know how to converse without swearing.

You sound exactly like another member we had here, whom I haven't heard from in a few months. Are you him perhaps, under another name?

As Sheshy said, we are having an adult conversation (notwithstanding your lame slam at Nebraska) but it just so happens that we don't agree with you. Don't pick a fight and then go off crying and claiming foul play when we stand up for ourselves.

Most of us are here because we share the same beliefs about this way of eating. It's a safe place for us to be to talk to others with similar problems. Is it fair that some people come along and start telling us we are cult-like because we feel strongly about our beliefs? Do you attack religious groups this way? Moms who believe breast feeding is better than the bottle? Who else? As has been mentioned several times, there are other low-carbing groups who do things a bit differently and who aren't as hard-core about it. Go join them. Why would you want to come here and try to force your beliefs on us? I just don't get that. Like non-smokers who sit in the smoking section of a restaurant and then complain about it. Non-smokers have rights, for sure. But don't deliberately sit there with the smokers and then bash them for it. They have rights too.

I'm not even going to address everything ladyinred said because I've already clarified it many times over. So many things she said are inaccurate. But for the record, no, I've never been a member here before. I did chuckle @ this though:

Safe for people in the clique maybe.

Soooooo, because you will never win an argument with us, you are going to put us all down? You are missing my point. If I think David Cassidy is better than Donny Osmond, I don't join the DO club and tell them they should love DC. If I'm a non-smoker, I don't sit with the smokers and then slam their lifestyles. Are the DO club and smokers also cliquish?? Perhaps. If I don't agree with them I don't go near them. Looking at your previous posts in other threads, I believe people have been very helpful and supportive towards you. Now you are going to attack us and call us names? Not nice. Maybe you should go find a hobby.

Lady, you need to just pretend this thread does not exist. Don't be ripe for the picking. As you can see, I haven't stooped as low as Winthorp and responded to the Nebraska comment, since it is obvious that anyone who judges an entire state in this way proclaims volumes about himself.

See, it's actually the "pillars" of this site who are missing the point. You typed, "...because you will never win an argument with us, you are going to put us all down?" I'M NOT TRYING to win anything. No one has to win or lose. This started as an observation I made and wanted input on. Instead I was attacked, I was put down (to use your words) and repeatedly told to read the book. Of course I stay away from people with which I care not associate (smokers, alcoholics, etc) but I thought I was among people who shared a common goal.

Long ago this turned into a personal debate about me and my observation. I find it interesting that once I fought back a little, and only then, everyone started raising the red flag and threatening to lock the thread. Just step back for a minute and look at how this group might appear to an outsider or a newbie like me. It's more likely a person would be driven away by a handful of members here than want to do Atkins correctly.
