Re: What excuse do you have......
Thanks for the support! A family member had gastric bypass done ~4 years ago and I had been very seriously considering it then remembered when I was 13/14 going on Atkins one summer and dropping 40 lbs and said "hmmmmm...wonder if I can do this?". I have ALWAYS had problems with my blood sugar staying in the scary low range (3 month avg is generally in the 60's) and most of the time when I check it because I feel weird it is 30 or below. Am not on any medication or anything but with diabetes running in my family I try to keep an eye on it. Have checked my sugar twice a day EVERY day since starting Atkins and it has been around 80. I physically feel better. I haven't felt nearly as tired and draggy. Am borederline high bp; last time I was in it was 138/88. The person that had gastric bypass doesn't eat nearly as healthy as what Atkins allows. Told my grandmother that I was doing Atkins and she told me that a friend of hers that is a RN said that its not healthy to do Atkins very long and I laughed at her. She thinks it is STRICTLY meat/cheese/eggs and NO carbs. Had to clear her up on that Atkins strongly encourages you to eat low carb veggies and the vast majority of the carbs you eat come from veggies. She's still in disbelief. I can't wait in ~6 hours to show up at her house sporting a pair of 14 jeans and a shirt I bought Sunday that actually shows my figure off!!! I posted up a few pictures on my Facebook and my aunt was like WOW and showed my uncle and he told me he's getting ready to get the shotgun out to clean it! lol Since stepping on the scales yesterday and them showing 8 lbs lighter I have a bounce in my step again. Its been YEARS since that has happened. I already feel more selfconfident (and that's with just 8 gone lol)
