  • Buddy List June 24-29

    Greetings!

Well...here we are. On Elizellen's suggestion we are moving to the main forum. We had a very successful buddy list going on in induction. But the time has come for some of us to move on to the rungs. So in the interest of staying together and making more buddies from all levels here we are.

We welcome anybody who is looking for some buddies. This thread is for those that want a place to interact and support each other and get support. Of course if you find that it helps you to just pop in to say you are still on plan then feel free to do so. But we would love to have you interact with the group!!

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~

Good for you! That is the best way to guarantee success. You will find lots of support here. Just stay strong through the induction flu...if you get it...and you will come out the other side stronger than ever!!

I have a never ending recipe thread in the induction forum if you need some ideas. Feel free to add any new recipes that you try to it.

            Re: Buddy List June 24-29

Here we are buddies! Just checking in before hitting the books again this am. I am down 10 pounds total now, been that way for a couple of days, so I feel it is ok to "type" it out loud. I am on day... 13! Wow, that went fast and slow, in some aspects! I know I need to get to the grocery store again, we are running out of everything. I can't believe how much I learned on here in the last two weeks to make this really happen!! I am so glad I found this board!!

Elsie, do you know where the last posts are from last night? Cuz I had a question in there I was hoping someone could answer. This is also why I was suggesting a permanent thread in the main forum that we don't have to "cut" every week cuz then we lose a lot of messages that way. I dunno, I like a long run-on thread myself.

Anyhoo, online school is tough, I am pulling an 87% so far, the class gets over July 25th, BUT it overlaps by a week with my CNA course which is on campus! I am doing great with the eating, usuallly I am a stress eater, I am so proud that I am not having any troubles with this WOE!! It is helping me tremendously!! My pants are getting loose, and this is weird, but my skin looks clearer too! I feel good!! Kinda sore from the lawn mowing and workout yesterday, but that is a good thing!
Welcome Buddie!!! We have fun here, glad I found this thread, Did we tell you that Bill likes to be abused? hehe

If anyone knows where last nights posts are, I had some questions that I would be interested to get feedback on! Thanks!!!

Hi Val...glad you found us! The posts are there...maybe yours got bumped?? If two people submit at the same time then one gets bumped. I review your last posts but I couldn't see what I missed. Post it again please.

                    Can I be your buddy?!
I am having so much fun with Atkins this time around.
I wish I had money to make all of these yummy recipes. I want to make the califlower pizza so badly, but I can't afford it! GRRRR!
I got a small second job just so I can make the good stuff, but I don't get paid until the 10th of next month. CANT WAIT!

Hey, I'm here! Whew, I'm all sweaty from the trek over.....

Drool carbs.....bahahahahaha..... That reminds me of something I was contemplating a few weeks ago....is it ok to take communion while on Induction, or would it be considered "cheating"? Drool carbs.....I love it!

                      Hi Buddie....welcome aboard!

Val ~ Way to go on the marks, and keeping on plan! School is stressful, you're totally my hero!

Hi Bill! Look....this is me....keeping my hands to myself....

Thanks for the new home Elsie!

Thanks tomorrow!!! It is so hard, frickin anat/phys, why oh why did I ever think I could do it ONLINE?? Oh well, gotta just plug along!! The big thing, is I am not stress eating though, no 1/2 packages of oreos, etc.. Thank gosh!!

Yay, welcome to all the new buddies joining us!! Great idea to move here Elsie, betcha didn't know you had a knack for real estate, did ya? LOL!

Oh, and tomorrow, I was reading on here about communion, it seems that the general consensus is to just do it if you need to. Hey, if I took Nyquil/Dayquil for 3 days, full of sugar, and I still lost 10 pounds over induction, I don't think really, that communion would throw you off.

Ok, yeah, I did find responses to last night's posts, but in case anyone is wondering, I was wondering how bad it was that my bf ended up drinking a Sprite at work yesterday and what he could do abot it. He has been doing so good, he is on day 12 of induction, lost over 12 pounds already. He is a laborer and asbestos abater, hard physical work. Anyway, he drank all the waters he brought, and had nothing else to drink but a sprite, he was sooo thirsty, he was welding all day. So he drank it and really didn't want to, he said if he was going to cheat, he would rather have a big ole carmel roll from Bridgemans, lol! He was so upset! So I told him to just drink lots of extra water to flush the sugar out of his system yesterday, and that is about all he can do. We plan to just stay on induction anyway, so I'm sure it will work out.

Ok, back to the assignment I am working on! TTYL

Wow, I can't believe communion was actually a real topic that other people talked about. I thought I was being weird actually sitting there having that internal discussion. In the end I decided it would be perfectly acceptable. Wow!

I think your advice on the Sprite was spot on. There's not much else he could have done, either at the time or after. I don't think it will cause much harm, as long as it's not a habit.

I agree with just drink all the water he can and flush it out. I dont think there is really anything else he can do. Just let his body get rid of it. Good for him on losing 12 lbs already!
