Re: Buddy List June 30th - July 6th

Hi guys, stopping by to meet some new people. I haven't tried the oopsie rolls yet either. Are they hard to make? The thought of having a "hamburger bun" is exciting though. I love burgers. What's Whooshie Pie, IrishMom? Mind posting that quiche recipe too while you're at it? I'm always looking for new things to make. Tonight I think I 'm going to make some chocolate bark using stevia, coconut oil and cocoa powder. I got the recipe here:
Chocolate 'bark' with coconut oil - Low Carb Friends
I'm not on the nuts rung yet so I am leaving them out. I'm excited to have chocolate. Anyway, hope everyone is having a great day!

Re: Buddy List June 30th - July 6th

I got the Wooshie Pie recipe from a fellow member. Thanks kmrsail!

      Wooshie Pie aka Hamburger Pie
      2lbs of ground beef(lean)
      1 package of cream cheese
      2 tsp yellow mustard
      2 tsp horseraddish
      garlic powder to taste
      salt and pepper to taste
      dehydrated onions to taste

1st combine cream cheese, mustard, and horseraddish, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and dehydrated onions in a mixing bowl. Smooth it all out so when its done it will be a creamy yellow almost like the consistancy of the yolk of deviled eggs. Put aside, and split beef in half. Make a large hamburger patty and put into a round cooking dish(or square if you dont have round). Sprinkle with some salt and pepper and spread cream cheese mixture over the hamburger patty and take the other half of beef and make into another patty. Put on top of the patty with the cream cheese mixture and pinch the sides closed sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake at 325 for 55 min or until well done. Slice like a pie and enjoy!"

I leave out the onions and use 2/3 of the mixture in the patty and save 1/3 to brush on top about 10 min. before it's done. This can get a little messy, but I love the flavor. I also use more horseradish because I love the taste. You really do need to pinch the two patties together or all the filling will run out. Also, cooking time depends on how much you spread out the patty....I spread mine pretty thin so it's done in about 35-40 minutes instead of 55.

Hope you try it out AND get a whooshie!!!

      Mom's Cheese Quiche
      1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
      1/2 Cup Cream
      4 Eggs
      1.5 Tbs Parsley
      16 oz. Cheese (grated)

Mix the cream and mayonnaise. Add the eggs and parsley to the cream/mayo mix. Grease a pie plate really well with butter. Line the bottom of the pie plate with the grated cheese. Pout mayo mix over cheese, make sure everything is covered evenly. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. So tasty!! You can add meat to this and veggies too!

            Hi Vanessa and Irishmom...
            Those recipes look tasty.

We have had hamburger patties for 100 million nights in a row now. I suppose I could go for a "bun." =)

Hi all. I exercised today, walked a half hour this am and another tonight. Man, do I feel like I have a lot of wt to carry around!!! I gotta get this under control! I wish I could just unzip my fat suit and step out of it! Ew, it makes it hard to exercise! I hope it gets easier soon!

Still on track with eating and drinking water. Studying hard, better get back to that! Hope you all have a good night!!

tough to tell them it may get worse before it get's better..

Lovin' these recipes! Can't wait to try the chili..family wants to try
                    the hamburger pie...

Congrads to those doing the excercises! guess it's like the "flu" first few days will be the hardest..but it does get a bit easier.

warm welcome to the new Bud's! your just in time for dinner!
Liver and Flan all around! if you arrived sooner you could have had Tuna for breakfast!

Re: Buddy List June 30th - July 6th

hello everyone. work actually went fairly well today, i felt so energized all day. hardly seemed like a 10 hr shift. tomorrow will be a long one though, i have to go in 2 hours early to make up time that i will miss going to an allergist for an allergy test. afterwards will have to head back into work to finish the rest of my shift.

i was disappointed that i didn't go for a walk today, but did my push ups, crunches, and squats. then decided to just walk in place(500 steps) to get kind of a walk in.

well i tried one bite of the cottage cheese, and i have to say that was all i needed to know that i dont like it. so i ate yogurt today for my intro to rung 2. it really tasted sweet to me, but still wasn't bothered by cravings after eating it, so that's good.

well off to enter my exercise challenge info and then off to bed. goodnight all,
                      monie

catching up on my reading! wow so many posts first week!

Elsie--I think your doing great..there's something like 1 million grams of sodium in rinds per bag..bet the more you drank the more you retained--Big Whooosh (Tsunami) going to happen soon. Acck--thing I gave you the wrong punishment!--how you feel about Liver?

Monie-sounds like you had a good day cooking for, what small 3rd world country was that? things sound like there smooth and on coarse for you!
and your really burning up that 6 WEC! WTG!

Live--have a better understanding on stalling and what to do? Hula Hoop's are at Walmart I hear! and join the 6 WEC! scale may not be friendly now but I bet the Tape measure will.

Val- LOL--nice surprise finding those old measuments! came at a good time too--bet you will breeze thru 6WEC..and --umm-if you need a babysitter? I'm your man! I can do magic tricks too!

Andie--I've have had oily skin too lately..spending a lot of time washing my face and hands..wonder if it's my Omega suppliments? Will check into this..could be just a wierd reaction to Burger King...

heard someone wanted to have their whole family do this WOE?
I think Elsie was right--once I introduced so many fresh veggies,
proteins and Batch cooking and storing..there wasn't much left in the fridge or freezer or pantry..I believe it had something to do with my family's decision to start this WOL.

Tommorrow--You did it! (high five) hey you deserve a good breakfast!
(strooling over and punches the speed bag a bit: Bam--Wham--oh a jump rope! if you can do it..jumping up and down..that wasn't so bad! and as soon as I get out of the hospital I gonna try that plank thing too..

HEY!!! I had tuna for breakfast!! LOL! It was on an oopsie roll...those things are so handy!!

Bill...at least the fair will take family's minds off of 'flu'. I hope it passes quickly for them. I haven't tried the Whooshie Pie but I love the Sloppy Joe pie! What did you guys use for syrup?

monie...glad things are going good. Leave it to you to figure out a way to get your steps in! LOL...on the cottage cheese. I like mine with lots of salt and pepper but can't eat more than say....three days in a row because I think it might be bad. You might be able to use it in a recipe.

I tried some swiss cheese. Was quite surprised at the strong taste of it....I thought it was a more mellow kind of cheese like mozz. So a pleasant surprise.

Didn't use a syrup--we do have an organic SF brand made of spleda..but I made them in a light egg wash--and after they were done sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on the melting butter and a bit of whipped cream on top--then had to make more rolls because they were gone in seconds..
