Hey you all!! I am so behind, I don't think I will read back, but I am back!!

Sassy, so glad you found a good home here!!!

Hi Monie, thought I saw you around!! Hey Joe, good job on the vacation!! I am impressed!!!!

Elsie and Vanessa, yep, not going to worry about BF, he is on his own, he can eat with me or not!! The two of us just came back from the groc store, we rented some movies, and all we bought was eggs and peanuts to snack on!! Well, not the eggs, just the peanuts. lol. Hehe, I keep calling him a bun eater, he is really regretting that bun!

I am so glad to finally relax, we rented 3 movies!! I am upping the cardio tomorrow though, I said I would when the class ended, and it is officially over! I am excited to get into it!!!

    Well, DB in calling, ttyl.

      Hey Bud's!
tuff getting on here and this might not take--I wonder if it's--I know no one is mentioning about all the "CRAP" ads now on here--even as I write this reply--there is an ad for an unproven competitor's diet plan?? capitalism at it's finest---

still raining..but a busy day anywayz--keeps me moving--

      ABOUT THE RUNGS>>>>>>>>>

Val--(and you may know this!) did you study how to go about the rungs? I notice you have ramped up foods--each new food you add you can only eat 3 days a week (for the first week only)--every other day..then after the first week and if there is no weight gain or stall or inch's gained--you can have it forever---when I went to rung 1--- I had Asparagus M-W-F and Avacado
T-T-S-and I didn't lose--then just had the Asparagus and body was in keto and I lost either weight or inch's--tried Avacado only and no Asparagus and stalled--cut the Avacado!--next went with Asparugus and summer squash for 3 days--end of week all is normal and loss of weight or inch's--

point is-- I now have a successful Rung 1--eating 1 more cup of some veggie's or the proper amount of some new veggie's and still have loss of weight or inch's--

I am now on rung 2 doing the same with the newly introduced ricotta and farmer's cheeses and upping the other's on the list---

the CCLL is so important--I am reading here of people up to 100 or more carbs a day--but still have loss of weight or inch's--

        sorry about the rant

Sassy--still reading the NOVEL you posted --
        way to be supportive!
( if you want to try it again) try broiling the zuch's till blackish--you will release the natural sugars and taste something really good.
and for those times you just don't wanna--remember-batch cooking and freezing!

Study--Great links! and glad you were able to continue your routine!!

Joe--WOW--you made it thru Disney!! there should be a medal!!
        no stopping you now!

Elsie--trial and error--and with 2 food critics around the fryer--it was easy--they look really weird tho!! but -MMMMMM--used fresh not frozen or canned beans.

        Val--crossing finger's in hope's you get a high grade--
Any gut's left?? maybe a bun or two??? Think we could come up with a
burger for BF he won't forget

Cyndi--how long you been away from states? when you come back are you going to live near your family or DH's?--
Bet I won't reconize Graf now! done any site seeing? wine cruise down the rhine? Frankenstein's castle? all those open air festivals?
funny--of all the bad times there--I can only now remember all the good times!

Bill...I tried zucchini chips and zucchini fries. DD LOVED both and I didn't get very many. LOL! DS thought the chips were 'okay'...which means I will probably not be able to get him to try them again. For the broiled Zucchini's do you cut them in half??

cut along the whole length--about 1/4 inch thick--cut down close to the end but not thru---The Recipe is called a "Zuchinne Fan"--broil a few mins
(sprinkle EVOO) then it will be soft enough to spread like a fan--sprinkle with Parma cheese and broil till dark brown--blackish--
#1 request by DW is to make her a Fan! loves them!

hey guys!!! it's been a really bad day for me since i last posted today. i have a broken heart, and broken spirit right now. we got the one call from the vet that we never really expected. the tooth abcess was actually a tumor, and the vet told us that there was nothing they could do for our DBH. we had to have her put down. we raced to the vet to be with her and say goodbye, then brought her home and layed her to rest underneath our apple tree next to our other basset hound(her life mate that we lost 18 months ago). DH and i feel like we are just dreaming and can't seem to wake up. we raised her from a pup, and she truly was our baby. we have no kids, so we made our pets our children. now that they are both gone, i already feel the empty nest syndrome setting in. everywhere we look, is something to remind us of her. the hardest part was when we left to go to the grocery store and was returning home, i burst into tears when i realized that it was the first time we would come home and she wouldn't be on the couch watching us come through the door.

                    <<fast forward a couple hours later>>

as i was beginning to type this post DH had gone to bed with a headache, but got up 20 mins or so later not being able to sleep. so we went out to our living room, and kinda came full circle in our mourning process. we had basically cried all day, but still in kind of a shock. hadn't really talked to each other about how we felt or even much about Bella(DBH). well, we proceeded for almost 2 hrs talking about how todays events unfolded, what our expectations of the day had been, and our memories of Bella and also ones with her and our other basset JD. he's now gone back to bed, but we both are glad that we took the time to relive the life we spent with 2 beautiful hounds. we've been married 17 years and the last 12 1/2 in some way has always revolved around our pets. we know that it's gonna take some time to adjust, but feel that we were so blessed to have been loved for doing so little to make them happy.

i know that this post is a true downer, but as i began it, i was feeling so alone. i am so glad that i have you guys to share with. i'm also so glad that DH couldn't sleep and decided to share his feelings with me. it was a big step in beginning our healing process together. i know there will still be difficult days to come, but we have atleast put things into perspective now and know that things will get easier with time. we see this as a new beginning for us, and decided someday, when we are ready, we will start searching the basset hound rescue in our area for one that needs the love and attention that they deserve.

Morning Buds - I took a sneak peek weigh-in a day early and it looks like I'm going to be up a couple of pounds this week (hmm, I wonder why?). On the plus side, I did get 4 miles in this week.

I joined this list to hold me accountable, so here's what I'm going to do. From now on I'm going to post my number of cheat free and diet coke free days with each post. If you see that number going down - you're free to call me out!

Hope everybody has a good weekend.

                                Thanks everyone who welcomed me

Today is Day 2 of my Induction and so far so good. Yesterday I only got up to about 10 carbs of vegetables/cheese. I will be doing more vegetables today when we go grociery shopping. I did try and get more water in me--I've been known to avoid water. I felt a bit off just eating meat and cheese. I went to the movies with my husband last night to see Batman the Dark Knight and it was hard to sit in a theater filled with people eating popcorn and candy and drinking sodas. I held myself back and made it through the whole show! I'm happy with that.

This morning I woke up with a migraine--which I have suffered since I was about 10--so I didn't feel that great. I managed to make scrambled eggs with bacon and sprinkle cheddar cheese on them. I drank 16 ounces of water this morning too. Our plans today are to get out of the house and do some sight seeing since we don't usually get this much family time. I hope to have two salads today and boost those veggie carbs up!

                                Talk to you all soon!
