    absolutely don't forget the Rutabagas! I peel, cube, toss in oil and roast like you would a 'tato at 400 degrees, tossing every now and then. They are sooooooo good.

        this is for all the challengers:
        as you see us posting recipes and chatting about the different veggies make sure this is something you can have on the particular rung/phase you are on. keep refering to the book and the pdf and the other sources i've listed in the very first. we don't want anybody wrecking their woe.

        keep up with your practicing! i know i am! i hate not earning an award!

          Oh, that pdf is handy with the phases noted. Printing that out now.

              I'm in! I usually eat 2 cups of salad and 1 cup other veg everyday- I assume that is about 15 net. I eat 4 oz of cheese everyday too so the rest is veg!

              I'm on induction (extended) and I will eat 12-15 net veggie carbs/day!

              I just checked what I eat in fitday and apparently I am only consuming 9-10 g veg carbs/day- how does that work! I measure everything exactly...I could be having way more salad and more asparagus! I feel cheated!

              **well...I had a cheat, after a great start- and I'm starting again...just because I owe myself a clean slate.

                      lucid, i have you added to the list! your 9-10 is good, just bump it up to 12 and you got it. remember, we are counting NET carbs in this challenge!


                      word to all: if you happen to go over on your set limits, don't worry. as long as you are getting the minimum the award will be yours. i'm not taking off for a few extra veggie carbs.

                          I checked my carbs yesterday...14.4 net veggie carbs. About that 2 cup, 1 cup thing, I measure everything by weight (love that PDF, with all the gram measurements) I don't mess with cup measures at all, lol, it is just too easy to drop stuff on that scale, jot down numbers and then figure the carbs.

                          Other things is...I don't really like salad. So most of my veggie carbs come from the 'other list'. I am assuming that as long as my net carb count is where it should be..that is okay, right?

                            .............although i do want you to stick your plan with the phase you on!

                            my testing week is going pretty good. i may even lose a pound during all of this! i won't complain, not one bit!

                              i think most of typically think of salad as the different lettuce, romaine, etc. types. i'm not going to force feed you salad greens if you really don't like them. and it isn't necessary. just pick from the list in your book.
                              when you read the list on page 125, it's not just lettuce or romaine. it says "you can have two or three cups per day" and you are choosing from the entire list that is shown. so you aren't stuck with just lettuce, you can have celery and cucumbers and mushrooms and ditch the lettuce. then get your 1 cup from the other vegetables list.

                                /sigh...I see alot of raw pepper strips in my future...it's the only thing I like on the 'salad list.' Although I do use romaine lettuce for my lunch wraps, but that's about it. Well mushrooms, but I can only....wait...that would include portobella mushrooms, right?
