    My total for Friday was 24 net carbs. I had broccoli, okra, radishes, celery, green pepper and tomatilla.

    I didn't like the tomatilla cut up in a salad. Dh didn't either. I bought 2 of them and am going to fry the one that's left with radishes. Maybe it will be better cooked.

      Friday net was 13.3

      Breakfast - 1/2 cup green peppers 3.5
      Lunch - 1 1/2 cup chopped cucumbers 4.6
      Dinner - 1 cup pumpkin 18

      Total 26.1 - 12.8 fiber = 13.3

            glenda, mitzi didn't do a celebration thread. i think she sent a congratulations pm along with the cauliflower head award to each member/challenger who successfully completed the challenge.

                I am SO sorry that I haven't posted a list of winners yet. I am working different hours than I am used to, and Daniel only has 1 whole day, and 3 half days left of school before he is out for the summer. That means dealing with final exams that are starting tomorrow. It takes more than a little nudging to get him to prepare for them.

                I will post something here, and in the Celebration Forum, as soon as possible.

                  OK, I'm finally ready to make it official! I am going to post this in the Celebration Forum, too, because I want everyone to know what a special challenge this has been.

                  The Semi Annual Veggie Challenge is near and dear to my heart, because joining that first one in April of 2007 was a life changing event for me. It opened my eyes to the world of veggies, and taught me to embrace them rather than fight them. This revelation, along with the support from this board, is what propelled me to success on my second attempt at Atkins.

                  Last week, I had the honor of hosting the 5th Semi Annual Veggie Challenge. Twenty-four members signed up to eat a required minimum amount of veggies for their individual phases, and to try a new veggie they had never had before, or try a new way of preparing a familiar one. For 5 days, we exchanged recipes and shared discussions... we learned about veggies, and got to know each other and make new friends. It was AWESOME!

                  I am so proud, and it is my pleasure to present a list of the seventeen members who were able to meet all of the requirements for the challenge.

                  I want to thank each and every member who joined and participated in this challenge. I LOVE this challenge, and I really do think that everyone who particpates enjoys it. I think it's safe to say, that when we take these five days to make a concentrated effort to accurately measure and count our net veggie carbs (versus our total net carbs), most of us find that we aren't eating near as many of them as we thought we were. It was good to come together and share our experiences - I know that I learn something each time I participate in one. And it was wonderful to see so many of us benefit. I'd also like to congratulate ldyj for dropping into the 150's, and bonnie stomper for dropping into the 140's by the end of the challenge. Thank you for illustrating how more veggies can be a GREAT thing!

                  I plan on seeing all of you (and many more) in the next Semi Annual Veggie Challenge in November!

                    Minigoals
                    Goal#1: 169 and daily walks with the dog. Met
                    Goal#2: 159 and Schutzhund with the dog ... but not getting out of breath. Longer, faster paced walks with dog 3x/week. MET
                    Goal#3: 150 , Hiking 3 times a week for a total of 15 or more miles, Bike 1-2 times a week.

                      yep, sorry, too late for this one too. just check the first post of any of the challenges and that will let you know the dates of when the challenge is running. your best bet, for joining something at this very moment, is to go to the Exercise Challenges forum and participate in one of the monthly challenges. most let newcomers join even mid month.
                      the pledging flights challenge is something you can start any time.
                      also the scale free challenge and the cheat free challenge are open for joining. those last two can be found in the Challenges Forum
