Re: Who want's to lose 10-15lbs by christmas??

Hey! Most people have told me not to weigh more than once a week, but I have been trying to wait two weeks before weighing again. However, it has been a week since I last weighed, and I broke down and weighed myself this morning. I still didn't lose any more weight. What gives? Three weeks and only 6 pounds. It stinks. I thought SURELY I would lose more than that of just water weight. I am PMSing, so I am hoping that is part of the lack of fluctuation. I will be your buddy, but I am new at this, too. I would really like to lose 25 by Christmas, too...but at this rate I don't know. Today I ate:

    Breakfast: Mock Danish
    Lunch: Pork Roast with coleslaw
Dinner: Salad with chicken, cheese, bacon bits, and 2 tbsp of ranch dressing

Drinks: 1 Diet Rite and 85 ounces of water.
Exercise: Gazelle 1 and a half hours, crunches, squats, bicep curls, tricep dips, lunges

I am going to try to up the water to 100 ounces.

Any more suggestions? I really wanted to cry when I saw the scale. I guess that I will wait two more weeks to weigh in again. I just measured myself for the first time yesterday, and I will measure myself again next week.

I think you'd have a hard time finding any doctor who would say 2 pounds per week is not a good rate for loosing weight.

The induction phase of the diet is faster, when it is the first part of your weght loss efforts, but it isn't the entire diet. It is more like turning the key in an ignition switch, to get the engine running. It will keep on running as long as you don't foul the fuel line, although the rate may seem but a putter.

Anyone reading these post and have any tips to give me I would greatly appreciate it. Anyone wanting to adopt me as a daily buddy to help see me through I'd greatly appreciate that too.

        Breakfast: 3-scambled eggs
        Dinner: chicken
        supper: hamburger patties

Gonna try to drink water today too and exercise with that.
Question...How often should we weigh ourselves?

Depends is the correct answer; way to many variables to consider, you current size, metabolic resistance, etc etc.

It is *possible* to lose that much in 8wks but you can only do what you can and the inches alone will look like you dropped more than 22lb!

Alright, I'm down 1 pound out of 15 that I've made my goal. I guess I better add this to my siggy. Yay me!

Ashley - it looks like you're working out a lot. Perhaps your measurements will be a better indicator of how you're reshaping your body! Remember as well that one pound of muscle takes up less space than one pound of fat. How do your clothes feel? Also, if you're PMSing, forget all of it. Wait until your cycle is over and you should notice a difference.

Hey everyone else! The weekend was good. Made Chicken Parmesan on Friday night and noshed on it most of the weekend. Went bridesmaid dress shopping -- which was PERFECT motivation to keep going! I SO do NOT want to be a size 14! (Of course, that's WAY better than the size 24 I was at the last wedding I was in!)

Breakfast today was 2 eggs and 3 slices of bacon -- my usual.
Lunch was extravagent because someone else was paying for it! A ribeye, broccoli and creamed spinach! Yummmmmmmmmy.
Dinner will be leftovers from lunch. And a butterscotch pudding (sugar-free of course).

In general, life is good. My emotions are in much better control since I started back up. Thank God!

            Hope everyone is well!

November 7, 2006 -- Just wanted to let everyone know that I've lost 7.4 pounds in one week!! Yippee! I couldn't resist seeing what my one week loss was, so I gave in . . . and I'm glad I did. I feel super motivated! No more scale until Thanksgiving morning. Seeing that I'm 3 pounds away from my stated Thanksgiving goal, and I have over 2 weeks, I'm hoping for a nice pre-Christmas surprise!

Wanted to share the joy . . .

Dinner- Casserole with Chicken, asparagus, cheese, mayo and sour cream- super yummy. 9g

Snack- I was bad and ate a sugar free cookie. It was REALLY good, but one was plenty and only 3g which puts me at 20 total for the day.

I'm doing really well today. Food has been just fine and dandy for the last week and a day. As I noted above, I'm down 7.4 pounds. I can't wait for Thanksgiving to see what the scale will read!

Speaking of Thanksgiving, my plans are to roast up a fine bird, make faux mashed potatoes (I use the recipe that has cream cheese and sour cream in it - really good), green beans, and pumpkin cheesecake custard. Sounds like it will be just about perfect!

I'm in a great mood today. Feeling lighter, like I'm on the right path, and mentally in the right space.

I hope everyone is well this morning!

                                B today = 1 beef patty w/cheese & onions
                                L = 1 or 2 beef patty w/fried pumpkin
D = TBDWas a little naughty last night eating my DS's leftover peas.
But I was very good in that I didn't eat the rice! Got to keep extra vigilent right now if those scales are to keep going the right way. It's always tempting on cold rainy days like today to curl up with carbs and a cozy comforter instead of keeping moving and eating only on plan.
