Re: SLIM IN 6: Help Me Look Hot in My Wedding Dress Challenge!

Welcome Caryl! I have had the DVD's for a long time and have had great results. After doing start it up about 5 times I noticed much more muscle tone and after 2 weeks I had much more physical endurance. If you want quick results, Slim In 6 is the way to go.

I kept my date with the Squat **** - or Pixie of Pain - whatever title she deserves most. I did Ramp It Up. Thankfully I am not sore anymore, nor am I in agony but it still wipes me out. Hopefully tomorrow will be better so I can see what Burn It Up is like...

Re: SLIM IN 6: Help Me Look Hot in My Wedding Dress Challenge!

        Thanks, guys!
Rebecca and I did it yesterday afternoon. She had a band concert right afterwards, so I hope it helped her lung power-she plays the french horn. I think I'm going to have to get a knee brace for my left knee. It only hurts on lunges, but maybe some support would be a good thing. We both did pretty good. I haven't done push ups since 6th grade, I think, so that was kind of ugly. I did manage 8 full ones, and finished up with the wimpy ones. We got up early (moan) this morning to do it again. Was worse on pushups, but my energy is pretty low at that time of day. Did push through most of it.

I love the name "Pixie of Pain". I hate cheerful people before 8 am, however, I would really like to have my gut and hips take some other shape besides square with bulges. Between this and Atkins, I plan on being really hot by next birthday. Good luck with Burn it up. We may try ramp it up this weekend.

You should be HOT by your next BDay!

Did Ramp It Up this morning and am not sure if I will be able to move up to Burn It Up yet - those lunges get me too.

I woke up in a rotten mood this morning not wanting to do ANYTHING useful today - especially my workout, but then I saw myself in the mirror. Usually, that would make things worse but this time it made things better because my bottom was not sagging anymore . After 2 weeks of sputtering through Ramp It Up, my bottom isn't sagging!!!! Yes, I found motivation to sputter through it again .

            Yeah for no saggy bottom!
I'm desperately hoping for my stomach to deflate. Maybe it's my imagination, but I think it looks a little less "out there". I weigh and measure Saturday, so I guess I'll find out then.
Persistance will pay off. I think you're giving me the courage to try Ramp it Up.
            Have a great weekend!

                Misplaced Southerner,
It looks like you've lost several pounds from your signature. Way to go! I'm glad you're walking again, that gives me hope. I may take today as a rest day. TOM hit big time and I'm not sure I can manage it. If I feel better, we may try this afternoon. I was encouraged this morning. I usually only measure every other Saturday, but I wanted to see if anything was happening. I've lost about 1/2 inch each on waist, chest and hips. I also lost over an inch on an area I not so affectionately call "Bulge 2" that's right above my waist. (Yes, there is a bulge 1, too) Again, I haven't done much exercise except walking, so I might have more results than someone who's been exercising regularly.
Anyway, I'm thrilled! Sometimes I feel it's more obvious that I've lost weight in my wrists and feet than my belly area. It gets discouraging because my wrists and feet didn't ever look fat, and my belly sure does. I have hope that I can have a real waist someday!
I have read on the beachbody website that most results show up in the last 2 weeks, so don't give up yet! You can do it, and you will be a beautiful bride! I bet your fiancee' thinks you were beautiful even when you were heavier, and has even more respect and admiration for you now because you've worked so hard to get the weight off and get in shape. I remember when I was engaged (MANY years ago), and it was really hard not to gain weight. Everybody wants to take you out and celebrate with you, and it's difficult to say no when you're so happy. You've done great, so don't get down now. Good luck on Burn it Up! Let us know how it goes.

                    Misplaced Southerner,
Your fiancee' sounds wonderful, I hope ya'll have a beautiful life together.

I did start feeling better and Rebecca and I went ahead and did Start it up again yesterday. I was really surprised that I could do over 95% of it. I did 15 pushups. I can tell my endurance and strength are better in just 5 days. I even felt brave last night and did the ab work out. I think for Mother's Day I'll take my rest day. It was nice to go to the family get together and everybody did notice and mention how I looked thinner. Haven't seen some of them since Easter, so they really noticed. I did stay on plan, except for a couple of brownie crumbs jumped into my mouth somehow. I went into another room to socialize to stay away from tempation. I guess a couple of crumbs is better than a couple of brownies, but I'm still a little miffed at myself.

I watched ramp it up last night. Looks faster and harder, but maybe doable. I think we'll try it Monday. I'm sure you're proud you managed burn it up. I'm terribly impressed! Hopefully it will melt you right into that dress!

awww caryl, yes i am a lucky girl. he is a sweetie.
i took today off too for mother;s day! tomorrow i have a date with the squat **** at 4:00. i am scheduling her this week like any other appointment. otherwise, i let other obligations get in the way. not good. i noticed too that the more i do, the easier it gets. my upper body is terribly weak and i am not good at pushups but i am getting better!

so i see tomorrow as the beginning of the 4 week BURN UP! i am doing 4 weeks of burn it up and my goal is to get there 5 times a week....6 would be perfect but i will shoot for no less than 5. it does get progressivley faster and faster....gggrrr!! WE CAN DO IT!! see you tomorrow after we work out!

Re: SLIM IN 6: Help Me Look Hot in My Wedding Dress Challenge!

Rebecca and I got up at 6:20 to do Ramp it up. Oh, man. My shoulders hurt, and I feel really, really weak. We did the first half pretty well, but, the last half was pretty sad. I was feeling so good about start it up. But, as I keep saying, "You've got to start where you are, and this is where I am." If we keep doing it, it will get easier, too. We will be stronger, thinner and more confident. It took a while to get this out of shape, it will take some time to get back in shape. But, I've done SI6 for 6 days out of 7 now. I've been consistent and stayed with it. That's more than I've done exercise wise in years. I can do this for 6 weeks. I'm starting to see some muscle that have been hiding for a while. I definitely FEEL muscles that I don't remember having.
I'm also feeling a little bummed because I cheated on myself last night. I found chocolate and ate it--ALL. Thank goodness there wasn't a lot. I've been doing so well, and I messed up. However, I'm determined that I'm not going to let it stop me. I'm going to stay on plan today and not let it get to me. My will power gets really weak at TOM. Not an excuse, I just need to find better ways to cope. My cravings have really not bothered me since last TOM, so when the chocolate one hit last night, I wasn't prepared. I've messed up each TOM, but less each time. Oh, well, I've got 4 weeks to figure out what to do for next time.
Good luck on Burn it Up! We'll show that sadistic Pixie of Pain that she cannot defeat us! Bwahaha!

                            Misplaced Southerner,
I feel your pain! The Ramp it Up is kicking my rear. I'm not looking forward to Burn it Up right now. I felt like yesterday morning was so pathetic that we did the last half of Ramp it Up again (well, first time for most of it, actually). It did seem to help the soreness, either that or the Aleve. We got up again this morning and did it. It was marginally easier. My daughter wasn't focused at all and didn't do the last half. However, she is involved in athletics in school and they run up to a mile a day-sometimes more, and do exercises a lot, so I'll cut her some slack.
I don't seem to be losing weight, but I'm telling myself that I've got a lot more muscle, and that weighs more than the fat I don't want. My tummy does seem flatter, so I'll be happy with that.
I'm a klutz, too, so I hope I don't hurt myself on burn it up. It's all I can do to stay upright on one leg while moving the other one!
God is good, and we will survive! You'll be gorgeous in your dress, and I'll be thrilled if I can get into a 16 or maybe even a 14 for my niece's wedding July 28.

I finally got motivated and started yesterday. I am soooooooooo sore and all I did was the “start it up” section. I go to sit down and make it within a few inches before I flop down. And what is up with the toes out knees out stuff…don’t they know I have no natural balance! Anyhow, I am going to do this right and get my boyfriend to take before pics tonight in a bra and panties that look almost like a bikini. That way I can share if I have any major results. He thinks I should send my pics to the si6 website if (he says when) I see the major results. I just read all 5 pages on this post and I am so scared! I guess I will do siu for the rest of this week and then move up from there. I am still running 10 - 20 minutes on the treadmill in addition to this workout. Wish me luck on keeping it up!

Hi guys! I took Sat & Sun off and instead of my workout yesterday I did 6 hours of housework. Today, I sputtered through Ramp It Up. Not quite brave enough to try Burn It Up yet - the lunges and leg lifts still get to me a bit.
