Gosh, this place is hoppin'. Great to see everyone!

Buffy, I hear we might be running a half marathon together?!

Julie, you've created a monster with this challenge -- a fun, friendly, fat-burning monster! And I want your butt! I think about the "butt contest" Emma wrote about, and I shudder to think of a closer up of mine in a bikini. Why don't you have any cellulite?? And do you want some of mine...?

Hey, went to the gym and this place exploded! Wow! so much energy and enthusiasm....
Didn't realize what a milestone it was for me to go back to the gym... was a little nervous... took a shower, did my hair and make up, painted my nails again... my husband and son cracked up at me... packed my bag... so much easier to just ride my bike in my pj's!!!! But, feel great! That was so fun! Feel so much more motivated... told my husband I'm going to try to go 1-2 times a week for variety... (between work, housecleaning, cooking, shopping, etcc.... ) It's like a half hour from my house too.. so not really practical for EVERYDAY! but was fun... almost like a date... since we were planning on going away we spent the afternoon together and did some shopping, had lunch, brought subway to my son at his work...fun... and nice. The best part is sitting in the jacuzi and relaxing afterwards... I am so into variety in my life... I'm easily bored. It's really good to change it up.

You guys are so much fun! I only hope I can keep up with the fast pace of this thread. Yikes.

Okay, so...I joined the pushup challenge today. I ran 30 minutes hills on the treadmill tonight, and I did pushups and ab work. Go me! I need to exercise, exercise, exercise for this challenge.

Do I need to post my exercise in this thread? If so, I've walked 4 miles on the Gazelle, rode 6 miles on the stationary bike, did 50 crunches, and did some wall push ups, but didn't count them.

If it isn't neccessary to post our exercise, please disregard this post!

            Well, that got me researching...

http://www.cellulite-exercises.com/What-is-Cellulite.php explaining cellulite is basically due to weak connective tissues. Then I looked for supplements for connective tissues and found a variety of supplements suggested: calcium + magnesium + Vit D; glucosamine; Omega 3 and 6...

            Interesting question there!

Wow, this thread *IS* hopping. Heck I was here only a few hours ago, and *I* had to go back about 5 pages!

                  AWESOME!

Keep your eyes peeled for "assignments" and "discussion topics". Since this thread is fast and loose and very busy, I'll try to post said assignments multiple times. So if you read it twice, NO, that does not mean you have to do it twice for extra credit, unless you want to, you little brown-noser.

Terry mentioned an Atkins/DANDR discussion and I would like to incorporate that. Rather than covering the WHOLE book, I'm going to look through it tonight and figure out what chapters/concepts we can tackle here.

If we're recording exercise, I ran 2 miles this morning, walked 1 mile to the gym this evening, did 45 minutes lower body strength training, 3 bike miles, 1 hour of yoga, 200 crunches, and 50 pushups. Gawd I sound like a fanatic. But I am enjoying my summer vacation! I love working out, and I am thrilled to be able to run again!

Adena--I used to have HORRIBLE cellulite. I still have a little bit, or at least, I can see it, but it's very faint and very high up on my body...or maybe it's not there anymore? I take flax and glucosamine (out of the supps that Terry mentioned) but the key is exercise. I've lost fat and gained muscle and my legs are MUCH firmer. I would thank the strength training for the lack of cellulite. And I think dry-brushing is CERTAINLY playing a part in the improvement of my thighs.

OK, I'm off to do some copying and pasting and I will have an updated roster momentarily...

I agree with sensfan, I'd rather just do 1 chapter at a time. We can continue then when the challenge ends. In fact I'd be very surprised if a new challenge doesnt come out of this one to bring us to Halloween!

I think a chapter per week is sensible, possible slecting the most relevant ones?

I was wondering are we all going to weigh and measure on the same day - will that be Wednesday??

526lbs between us all is amazing - I really hope we all reach our goals. The world will get a little lighter
