    Thanks for all the nice words! I had a bad day last Saturday and have really cracked down this week. Funny how it works if you follow the plan!

    I start OWL Monday, more veggies, a little apprehensive but ya'll (especially Mitzi) have made me feel pretty good about it. Starting to get a little excited about more choices.

              Good Sunday Morning, All

              It is really nice to come here this morning and see all of the good news.

              Caryl, moving into OWL has been so empowering for me. Embracing veggies has been a turning point in my life. I can't believe how strongly I have resisted them for my whole life. On my first attempt at Atkins, I never tried anything new... 10 months into it and 60 pounds lighter, I was basically living on salad, nuts (lots of them), seeds (lots of them), yogurt, berries, and cherries. I got to where I was just maintaining... I couldn't lose more eating that kind of stuff. I rarely ate veggies other than salad. I think this lack of variety and structure was a major contributor to my downfall on that first time. Make sure to keep us updated on your new phase and ask any questions.

              Yay, Adena! I think you should be quite excited about your progress.

              Self... way to go, man. There's nothing better than a pattern of consistent losses.

              Disco! 5 pounds so far!! I love to hear that people who are high on their fat percentages are losing weight... I am always high on fat and used to stress about it... not any more.

              Purple Rain, thank you very much for your kind words. And a big woo-hoo for you on those great results on the 6 week challenge! I'd be doing a great big happy dance for 8.2 pounds in 6 weeks! Sweet!!

                Caryl, I have a similar story to Mitzi. I did Atkins a few years back and basically just stayed on induction. I lost lots of weight, but I never really learned HOW to eat or HOW to ENJOY what I was eating. I was happy with the results, but after going off of it during a vacation, I was back to my old ways and the weight piled back on. Well this time around, I didn't just stay on induction. I was really reluctant to start OWL so soon, since I still had lots of weight to lose, but it was the best decision I made. I have continued to lose during OWL and am so excited to REALLY LEARN how to eat.

                  Mitzi and Skinny -- I love your OWL testimonies. I, too, love OWL. Could never have survived this long on Atkins (or as successfully) on induction. Which is why it's a shame Atkins gets such a bad, inaccurate rap. If you do this right, you probably eat more fruits and veggies than ever before in your life -- yet it's still known as the "bacon and eggs diet." Geez!

                      Thanks for the encouragement, Mitzi, Don and Adena! I really want this WOL to work forever and I know I have to do OWL to do that. I'm not one who likes change when something is working, but I've got my head around it, so I'm getting excited now. I love this board for all the help and tolerance for really crazy or stupid questions. I learn something new everyday here.

                      I've been posting a little to another board for exercise and anytime you mention Atkins they start going on about how I'll need more carbs. I told them that I'll be eating more carbs and having everything except white flour and sugar by the time I finish the rungs. Most of them have tried what is obviously their version of Atkins and seem shocked that I'll be eating a fairly normal diet. I've actually tried new foods and recipes and was really surprised that I like things that I didn't think I did. I'll keep trying!

                      I tried my version of Atkins before, and guess what? It didn't work out that well. This time I'm doing it by the book, and I truly appreciate all the support and help you guys provide!

                      Adena, you'll be in onederland in no time! I'm glad operation clean up is working for you. Self, Disco and Purple Rain--you're doing awesome!

                      I lost 13 pounds and 12 inches in the 6WEC, finally in places I REALLY wanted to lose in--we're starting a new one today, come and join!
