    Salmon cakes

    1 can of salmon
    1 egg
1/4 to 1/2 cup flax meal
    salt and pepper to taste
a dash of sea food seasoning ( to taste)
1 tbsp of low carb catchup
    squirt of mustard
    large dallop of mayo

Prepare salmon by taking out of can and removing the large bone and excess skin. Add all other ingredients in bowl and mix well. Make into patties and fry in butter or olive oil.

I had these for breakfast with a 1/2 slice of cheese melted on top. MMMMMM good! I then placed the extra in the fridge and had them for lunch the next day as well as breakfast.

    ENJOY!!

          Hello everyone!
Wow, we've gotten bigger as a group even as we're getting smaller as people
Michelle, thanks for the Salmon Cakes recipe. You know, I was just getting to the point where I was so bored with what I had been eating that seeing your recipe reminded me that I could change things up a little.
So today was my weigh in and I only lost a pound but I lost an inch off my waist and abdomen each and a half inch off my hips. I am wearing a pair of pants that I haven't been able to wear for over 4 years and they fit nice, a little roomy. Why I have kept these clothes for so long, I can't say ... call me an optimist. So now I have thirteen+ pounds to go to meet my challenge.
This morning we had snow. Pretty, but not so great for taking my walks.

Well I have .6ish pounds to lose to make My New Years Goal of 281.4 pounds. =) I'm down to 282.0 =) x 2

I think I should bump my number down to a nice even number...like 280. It shoul take me two more weeks to lose 2 more pounds I think.

Well, if it's any consolation, you and I have the same amount to lose in the same amount of time for this challenge. Just give it your best and if you don't make your goal, you'll have made strides toward it. Then again, there's no reason you can't do it. That's the attitude I'm going to take: I've got nothing to lose but an aspect I dislike about myself, that no food can fix and no procrastinating about getting exercise can erase.
You can do it, look how much you've achieved so far! Every pound, every inch is one step away from what you don't want and one step toward the person you know you really are. Read some Atkins material, post on this site more, find some new recipes to give yourself the shot in the arm that you need right now to continue. It's going to feel so fabulous to make this goal and it's going to feel even better to look in the mirror and try on all those old clothes that haven't fit in a while.
This last Thanksgiving, I had so many people raving about how good I looked and I was quite surprised, since I had lost only 12 lbs and usually no ever noticed if I lost weight until I had lost more than 30. So I keep picturing just how much better I'll look by the Xmas and New Years holidays and vow to buy myself something cute to wear (because by then I'm going to need some new clothes, Yeah!).
Your post sounded like you were feeling a little discouraged. Don't give up. Do what ever it takes to get as excited as you have been to achieve the weight loss you have had so far. Can't wait to see your future posts on your success. After all, just seeing how much you have lost so far is a great inspiration to me already!

Well I am moving on down the ladder.. I have 3.5 lbs left to loose. I was 173 this morning and trying to get to 169.5 by new years.

Yippee for me! I think I just may make it if I can stay away from those darn holiday sweets!

Okay, it's official. The salmon cakes are awesome. I'm so glad I doubled the recipe although I daresay that they are worth the time spent picking out little vertabrae in the mixing process. Yum!

I am glad you like them. I have to credit my mom for the recipe while I did add the flax and take out the crackers the rest is all her. They really are good even the next day and the next.
