Oh, don't I wish!! I hope I can get all the edging/mulch done this week. I keep getting distracted by other garden jobs. I just love this time of year.

I know what you mean Mary. I love it when its like this - not too warm, but beautiful and sunny! I did a lot this weekend. Managed to get all the bedding plants in and also do window boxes and hanging baskets. The garden looks great now!

I even planted a little herb garden to compliment all this wonderful low carb cooking I'm doing!

I'm glad everyone's doing good. My utility/laundry room is finally looking like just that. I've got all the laundry stuff done, seperated, coded for what closet and etc. I''m starting on the cabinets and throwing away stuff I thought I could fix or use parts of it later(why I thought that who knows) and giving away things I have 2 of or that I just don't use. I've made a lot of progress but still a lot to go.

            Well, I'm long in posting...sorry!

But! I have cleaned out the garage and the laundry room last week and threw the stuff in a yard sale that brought in $190 bucks. The next thing to conquer is the back yard to make it "Summer ready". Oh, and dh cleaned the truck and the car yesteday, so, that's one chore I won't have to add to my list.

I have one of my chores done. I'm reporting that I have my attic cleaned and swept! Started yesterday and the HEAT up there was smothering, so it forced me back downstairs to the air-conditioning. It was in the 90's here! Went up to the attic this evening, and it was much cooler.

It didn't take me but about an hour to dust, sweep, vacuum and SWEAT... Actually, my hair is sopping wet. Well, now I need to get on with the rest of my chores shortly. Can't believe I've got that done....been putting it off forever!

                  Well done everyone!

We're really getting alot done around here. I think we're going to have the best kept gardens (and houses) in our areas soon... apart from Jimmie, who's going to have to put up with chaos for a little while longer. Congrats on actually starting your move Jimmie!

UK Girl... yes there is a man around the place to pass the double tools to... he's into the veggie garden more than anything, so I'm sure he'll take them off my hands. Oh, and tks for saying that goats and sheep aren't that different. Very comforting, 'cos so far most people take one look at my big fierce doggies and shake their heads pessimistically!
Glad you got a well earned rest.

Apple! You're quite the entrepreneur! Great that you're making a buck or two out of your chores!

                  Keep at it chaps!

Wow Sally - your very own veggie gardener!! Wish I had one - well both - a veggie patch and a gardner!! - my would be gardner has always got his head in a book, or messing with his fish tanks! (Marine)

Well today we had the day off together and went for a lovely breakfast in town and then while he was at the bank for over 2 hours I could only do what a girl does best - SHOPPING!!!!

and being very conscious that I will lose tons of inches eventually I stuck to buying tops that would be okay with some weight/inch loss, a gorgeous basket, some red crocs (to compliment the green ones I got for christmas) and a pair of clogs!! So - LOADS of walking up and down the mall and up and down stairs

oops bank balance - ZERO - happiness rating - 10/10 hee hee

Rack of lamb and salad for dinner tonight!

NO Cheese tonight - had a weeks ration in one night yesterday - and suffered with a thick head for it!!

Hope everyone is having a busy fun day!

I tell ya...it's a pain to do, but man, it's worth the cash! LOL.

Sally....I love hearing about gardening. I wish I had room. My DD and I started container gardens of just flowers, cherry tomatoes, chives, and mint to put on the front porch. Comeon summer!

UK....LOL...you're funny! Love hearing about shopping experiences. I live vicariously through those who shop. LOL. It's my goal to blow $300+ on a new wardrobe. Okay, so maybe it'll take $500 because I want matching underbritches. LOL.

Ok... before you all get the idea that I'm a multi-millionairess with a staff of hundreds (I wish!)... the veggie gardener is hub! And he's quite the amateur; but I'm not complaining. He does the veggies; I do the flowers. The dogs do the lawn... as in destroying it!
There is a man who comes in to do odd jobs now and again when things get desperate, but he's just had surgery so is out of commission for a while. I'm making do with my son...ahemm... well, he's got to learn sometime!

Ooooo shopping! Anj, sounds like you had a lot of fun... and you can't get much better than 10/10 happiness rating!

Apple, by container gardens do you mean window boxes or terrace boxes? You can grow loads of veggies successfully in those if you "feed" them well. Chives, mint and cherry tomatoes are wonderful. I'm getting a lovely visual of your summer salads. And the scent.... Veggies smell just as good as flowers, in their own way, don't you think?

I just had a huge "go" at the garage. Getting on far quicker than I anticipated. Another two or three days should do it. Yippee!!

i did well with my endevour today, too. looks like i'm in good company with good accomplishments.

all the stuff i took to the house yesterdays is now in rooms either where i know the stuff will go, in the extra room where i have no clue where things will go, or the basement.

i got my good glassware put in the cabinet where it will stay. i lined the drawers in the kitchen and the downstairs bath and got that bathroom pretty much done. made good progress today.
tomorrow, i have a hair appt. first thing and then i'll be off to take another truckload. that should pretty much be the end of what i can take on my own.

                              Hi All

Jimmie - soon you will have it all moved - and can start unpacking it all! phew !

We came up with a new 'chore' when this started - we have been recycling! - subsequently have washed out and save ALL plastic, paper, tins cardboard and glass bottles - BUT the best bit of this challenge is that we would walk it all to the recycling centre once a week (about 3/4 mile round trip) So off we went laden with bag fulls of 'stuff' - we got there and found that there was no facility for the cardboard or plastic!! - of which we had the most - so took it all home again and chucked it in the bin!! grrr

whats more is that when we went shopping today we actually bought a can crusher - now being healthy eaters the only cans we have are the beer cans and the can crusher doesn't take these size cans!!!!

                              ah well we tried!

Anj... recycling is awesome; the walk to do it also awesome; the fact that there was no facility for cardboard, a major irritation. But think how very healthy you're getting with all that carting stuff back and forth!
