    Re: Yoly's P90X challenge

How are you doing Meckab? I am actually on my rest day, kind of. It was supposed to be tomorrow but I switched it because I was so sore I knew I couldn't push they way Tony Horton would want me to. Instead I am helping my boyfriend tear down dry wall and knock down boards, not much rest I know but something that is at least different.

Have to run, have to keep on working, the foreman is calling me. Hope you are having a supper atkins and excercise friendly saturday.

          Re: Yoly's P90X challenge

I love beachbody products!! Right now, I'm doing a mix of Slim in 6, Slim Series, Power Half Hour, Power 90, Power 90 master series. I don't feel confident in myself at this point in time to venture into the P90X realm. We do own it and have watched some of the videos. Even my DH is a bit intimidated by those workouts! Kudos to you, Yoly for starting it!!!

Meckab, you're kickin' serious butt here!!! Keep it up!

            Re: Yoly's P90X challenge

Meckab - Great job on getting your excercise in early. I realize that if I am going to get my excercise in on the weekends I am going to have to wake up early and get them in before anyone calls me with exciting plans for the day. That's what happened yesterday, I was going to do Kenpo X but then got invited out for breakfast. I was sore though so I could justify it, however if I would have woken up like at 7:30 and worked out then I would have already finished by the time the distraction/fun came around. So it really stinks but I think I'm going to have to sacrifice one of my sleep in mornings for the X. Sigh, oh well it should be worth it.

jsj - thanks so much for stopping by your posts are always so encouraging, I really enjoy reading them. I think Si6 is one of the best workouts I have ever done, definatly the one that I have seen the best results with. It's a tough workout but if you can keep up with it it will actually transform your body. I got a little tired of it and decided to do P90X but am not sure if I will get the same results as I did with Si6, I sure hope so, the workouts are definatly challenging. I'm sure that it is going to take two rounds of P90X for me to get to where I want to be physically, so I will definatly be around.

Biogeek- thanks for stopping by, it's great to have guests on here cheering us on. I was a little intimidated to start it too, honestly I'm not in all that great of shape. I used to workout pretty regularly but for the last two months school has been really crazy and I dropped the excercise. I went for a walk/jog the other day at the park, 3 miles and I was dieing! and I walked most of it! That was the week before I started P90X. I just decided that I would try it and if I needed to make some modifications I would. For the most part I have been able to keep up with the workout, a few of the moves I change up but the important part of the workout is that you really have to push yourself to workout more then your comfort zone. I can't make excuses for grabbing the easy weight, instead of the one that's a few pounds heavier and much harder to raises and lower. I think it's all about how bad you want to push yourself.

So for me I enjoyed my "rest" day yesterday. I'm sore from knocking down walls for 6 hours yesterday, phew, crazyness! So now I am going to do KenpoX, I'm really not that enthusiastic about it, in fact I notice that I sure am posting a lot on the forum today, probably to avoid starting the workout, lol, caught myself.

Ok, I'm getting up this second, changing clothes, and pushing play. and I am going to BRING IT!!!

I"ll let you know how it goes.

              Re: Yoly's P90X challenge

Kenpo X is done for the day!!! Woohoo, it was tough but really really fun, best of all I kept up with every single move. There were a ton of kicks and punches and sustained squats with blocks and stuff, it was awesome. I kept pushing and pushing, when I felt tired out it was like the guy, TH, knew exactly when I was tired and said stuff like, I know your tired but bring it, push, push it, bring it! and I DID!!

Phew, I pushed harder then I have ever before and I feel great!

My heart rate was around 90% for most of the workout, and even during the breaks when we're jogging, jumping rope, and doing jumping jacks and air jacks it never went below 75%.

Man I feel awesome, the endorphines have definatly kicked in. It is amazing what excercise does, I woke up dragging and was even not really eager to excercise today but I did it and now feel amazing. Woohoo, gonna hit the showers and then I'm off to enjoy a beautiful Sunday here in houston.

Great job on the excercise, it's good to get it in the morning that way it's done and over with. I think it's the only way I will do it.

So your doing homework today, what are you studying? I know all about homework I really should be doing some of it today but I am revolting from school work today in celebration of finishing my first week of P90X. I am at the University of Houston getting a PhD in social work. Where do you go to school?

I see you completed KenpoX earlier today. I notice that if I go to the exercise blog where you first posted it seems like I'm not getting the current thread are should I say messages. My bad so I see you kicked but today you go girl. There was a lady that started with me but she told me today that she quit 4 days ago.I told her that she is going to regret quitting when she see how great I look in a couple of months.I kept trying to encourage her to log onto this blog for encourgement and great recipes. If I wouldnt have ever found this site I probably would have gave up once she told me that she decide to quit.Im so thankful that I found this site and people like you makes me want to push harder. Thanks for being there

                          Re: Yoly's P90X challenge

No problem, I totally love having someone who is pushing and "bringing it" as hard as I am. It keeps me super motivated too. Sorry to hear about your friend, I'm sure she will most definatly be jealous when she sees how hot you are and how tiny you are getting. Woohoo, we are gonna shrink!

I really love this site too, I have been here off and on for what seems like forever. Everytime I need to get back here to feel the encouragment and get my motivation back in the game I come back to this place. I ask a ton of questions, and it's nice to know that I am surrounded by people that are focusing on their health just as much as I am.

So the weekend went pretty smoothly for me, I had a hiccup on Saturday night, but it was a low carb hiccup, just not induction friendly, grrr! I am so mad at myself, I knew I was gonna do something like that to sabotage myself, well no more! I am once again in strict induction, I am struggling to get into ketosis but that is the goal. I am eating super strict until I get there and then once there, I am totally planting roots and sticking.

I got my workout in this morning, it was a little rough getting up this mroning, stayed up a little late last night, lol, but i had three different alarm clocks going so I would make sure to wake up with enough time for excercise, lol, I bet my neighbor downstairs hates my guts. Oh well, gotta do what ya gotta do.

So I worked out chest and back today, I used the bands to get the pull ups in, still not brave enough to try them on my own, still haven't gotten the pull up bar, but I am definatly building my strength with the bands. I did about a gazillion push ups, all kinds standard, wide, military press, diamond press, feet up in a chair, feet down but in the air, it was killer. I had a really hard time with some of them, especially toward the end so I made the necessary modifications to get the workout in. My arms are super sore as is my back. In fact I just sat up and felt muscles sore in my back that I didn't even realize I had, ouch! I feel the stiffness settling, I am so sore, but it's worth it.

I finished my first week of the program and today started week 2, I feel so much better today then I did last week, completely dedicated, motivated to keep on going.

So how was excercise for you today?

Sorry my post was long, I guess the endorphines kicked in and I am chatting away like a maniac.

Good morning, first off I plan to go to bed early last night so I can exercise this morning but that failed Mondays are always bad for me because I leave work and head straight to school and dont leave until 10:00PM I plan to attempt the exercise then(pray for me).Once I finish 90 I plan to order 90X because it sounds like one of those that really kick but and mine is not as intense you should have 6 pack ab on completion. You are doing GREAT!Aint its much better to get up in the morning and complete your training. My friend just IM me stating that she started Adkins again today she said that she dont know what came about her and that she feels like she has gained about 5 pounds with all the food she ate this past weekend so I encourage her to visit this website.Wow so you have completed you first week thats great and I know you do feel much better. Do you know that I have been in Ketosis since 3/30/08.I check the strip everday Im doing great and all but I wonder is it safe to be in Ketosis for about a month are so.I tried on a pair dress pants that I wasnt able to wear before this diet and they fit.I measured before I started the diet so I plan to measure again on 4/25. I think that I will post a picture around May 1st.I hate my before pictures -Yulk!!! This morning I had a slice of Spinach Quiche and for lunch Im eating a salad I guess for snack I will have suger free jello and since i have a long day today i will stop by Hardee's and get the carb burger and call it a day. Have A Wonderful Day.

Wow, it sure does sound like you have a ton on your plate today, good luck with the excercise, I know how hard it is to get it in with a long long day like the one you have in store for you. I'll be thinking about you around 10 tonite.

Yeah, P90X is really intense, I love it. I worry a bit if I am doing too much muscle training and not enough cardio to slim down but I am just going to do my best and keep on keeping on.

Great to hear about your friend getting back on, I wish she would come on here and just check out the forum, she doesn't have to post or anything, maybe look at the before and after pics, I bet she would get super motivated.

Great job on the slacks!!! Woohooo!!!! all your hard work is really paying off. It sounds like you are doing great with your food and you are really kicking some serious butt with the excercise, you are doing just great!

Finally, I am super jealous of you and the whole kitosis thing. Great job on sticking to this way of eating the right way. I am fighting my way back there myself, I will succeed. I wouldn't worry about being in kitosis long term like that, I was there for moths and months before on my first go round with atkins. It's ok, I didn't feel any different. Oh and did I mention how absolutly jeaous I am. XD, just kidding, good for you, you totally deserve all of your sucess.

Can't wait to see your before and after pics. I really need to take mine, I haven't chnaged much at all so I doubt that it would be a problem if I took them now. But I want to have a reference to compare to later when I am all toned up after our 90 day challenge, woohoo!

                                Re: Yoly's P90X challenge

Hey Meckab how are you doing this morning? I know you had a very very busy day yesterday and wanted to check up on you to see how you fared? I have those kinds of days too, they really suck. Today is my busy day, I have to come to work in the morning, have class this afternoon and then after that I go pick up Abigail, go to WholeFoods Market and then drop off the groceries at someone's house who lives all the way across town, one of my many jobs, lol. Anyway depending on traffic I will be home around 8 or 9 which is when I get abigail showered and in bed, after that I am pretty much trashed. Tuesdays are rough and in the evenings I am pretty much of no use to anyone. So thank goodness that I got my workout in this morning!

I did Plyometrics, the first time around because last week I was doing the Lean program and this week I switched over to the Classic program. Yesterday and today's workouts were the only different ones from last week so at least I know what I can expect for the rest of the day. But Plyo was a killer!

My HR monitor said that I burned over 800 calories in the one hour of excercise, holy cow!!! I kept my heart rate up for the most of it but toward the end I could feel myself bonking out. I tried to keep up and i did for the most part but I modified the moves a bit, it was rough. When I took my clothes off to shower, I looked down and both my sportsbra and yoga pants were wet!!! Ewww!

Anyway, all in all a good workout, lol, you should have seen my face it was almost purple it was so red! Great day of cardio! Plyo is done for the week, thank goodness, and I don't even have to think about it for 7 whole more days, I love this program.

Of course I have to take on YOga tomorrow, which means that I have to wake up extra early to fit in the whole 90 minutes, but I'll do it. I'm sure the moves will be hard but at least I'll know what to expect this time around.

Ok, so I hope that you did awesome yesterday, if you couldn't get all of the excercise in don't sweat it, I know how busy you were, just check in and let me know how your doing.
