      I believe that a maximum of three days of ab work will suffice. I personally only work out abs directly 2 X's per week. Like any other muscle group, abs can be overtrained and also, abs can undergo hypertrophy. That's a reason I do not perform side bends with dumb bells. It can widen the waist line.

      I believe in high intensity, abbreviated workouts for abs, as well as other muscle groups. My current ab workout is a giant set of three exercises performed back to back, with out rest, for a total of three sets. So, in a nutshell:

      1 set of hanging leg raises immediately followed by 1 set of weighted crunches immediately followed by 1 set of 1/4 (V) crunches. Repeat the cycle two more times. I performed 260 reps this morning in under 10 minutes.

        I think I'm weighing about ~ 186 lb. My waist line is at 34". I am 5'11" tall. I think I'm going to up my calories by 300 per day, until I reach a weight gain without putting on any fat. I'm at ~11.5-12.5 % bodyfat now (Skin fold measurements, Jackson-Pollock method III).

              My fav piece of equipment is a Roman chair, but not all gyms have one. I also like doing hanging leg raises but not that many! Way to go Bud

                  Thank you, Fancy1952! I like Roman chair's myself and I do them at the park on occasion. Usually after walking / running there at the crack of dawn.

                          So today, for a change, I did my yoga ab workout..Counted 41 ab "exercises" in the 30 minute DVD, done slowly and held for a breath or 2...so I also did 10 more crunches when it was over. Gotta keep my average up
