      Hi to all. I'm fine. Not weighing...even on a paper scale. Went super shopping last night and finally found my reward boots! Hot hot hot. And a bunch of other stuff too because it's so fun now I have a shopping day planned with a great girlfriend who has also lost weight on Atkins, not a ton, but lots of inches, anyway...on Nov 24, the day after Thxgiving. I have to be good (meaning no more shopping) until then.

      OK on exercise. Kids stuff and pushups and walking and shopping and housework and carrying kids. I NEED to get cardio worked back in...I really do think I'll start tomorrow. Wish me luck

        LOL @ denise...the main forum is scary enough..but the womens forum too! LOL

        Sorry 2big I wasn't ignoring you..I didn't know what forums it was either! it's main, exercise, chitchat womens and penpals/mentors/buddies.

        I didn't run yesterday even thought i promised myself I would. I don't even have a good excuse besides sheer laziness. . And of course it pouring today, hopefully it will stop.

          sorry i haven't been in here much. you guys know how it goes.

          for a day or two i felt really bummed out about exercise but trying to get out of the rut and into the groove. grooves are better than ruts, right?

          has silly shown up here? i don't see her on this page.

            We still love you commandercuppycake and I promise when you do the no stix challenge i will join that one in aheartbeat and be your expert on why stix are evil with the science and all.

            It is raining here too and my weather predicitrng joints have been acting up for days but the new grass seeds and the fall leaf color are loving the water. I did my HIIT.

              i was kiddi8ng!!! i ain't doing no a no keto challenge! lolol

              okay maybe i will but it can't be the same time i'm in a no weigh challenge. lol wouldn't look good for the challenge starter to fail miserably.

                Well, not my cardio, but did run downtown today and did 10 pushups on my knuckles and did my kid stuff. I even got dressed to WATP, but DH wants to watch a movie, and he never invites, so he wins try again tomorrow

                  push ups on your knuckles???????????? okay, your are my new heroine, denise!

                  i was feeling really crappy about exercie today so i did 60 flights, 1 mile on the bike, 10 ball push ups, a whole host of weight work for my arms using the ball, crunches and leg lifts. i have to say once i got going i felt better for it.

                  and now............ yes, 2big were absolutely the second one to know. the pm went out right after i logged my pres. points............. I GOT MY GOLD AWARD!! that 80,000 points seemed to take forever but i did it!

                    woohooo Jimmie good for you on the gold! Wow for someone that felt crappy about exercisign you did better than I would have LOL.

                    Pushups on your knuckles Denise? But why? I couldn't do that...well i don't think I could. Is there a benefit to it?

                    I will have to really get psyched up for my run today, it's only going to be 6c ..that's low 40'sf. brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I guess this is my preparation for winter.

                      I'm not sure i'm doing them right. My upper bod is definitely the best though and I wanted something quick to help keep tone. On another LC board, a super athletic runner girl quoted "20 military style pushups a day give you biceps of the gods". When asked what they were, she said on the knuckles. She also said she can do like 7 regular man pushups, 1-2 pullups and 2 military style pushups. Now, I have carpal tunnel in my right wrist (thanks ADBB) and can't extend my hand the normal way, so I thought I'd try the knuckle route, thinking based on her post there would be no way. But I did 5 right away, and can do 8 easily, 10 pushing it. I feel it in my bicips and whatever muscle is between my armpits and my sterum (if boobs were muscles, that's where it would be). It DOES make me feel strong. But no "benefit" that I see, and it's no harder than a regular man pushup for me. I can only do 2 true pullups too.

                        Hmmm interesting denise I may have to try them. That muscles behind your boobs are called your pecs (pectorals) i believe. My husband works out his chest with heavy bench presses and actually has amazing pecs. I do try to do chest exercises for them too because although no exercise will stop gravity all together, having good pec muscles will at least lift them a bit.


                        I was going to do my pilates today so i'm going to try those pushups. I do know that you can work different muscles with pushups depending on where you hold your hands, how close, far apart etc.

                        We have a chinup bar in the basement right in front of the washing machine...i should try to do some pull ups while i do laundry

                          msnicksmon try finger tip pushups instead of knuckle if you want some hand and forearm work. the knuckle will get you off the wrist as will the fingertip but thatis reall all the change does you have to use hand and forearm muscles but they don't increase the load anywhere else in the pushup if you are doing them on your toes already. it is the added body weight being borne by your arm muscles with the switch from the girls to boys pushup style that will cause you to work all the muscles used in the pushup harder. it is the same thing you noticed Jimmie Jo whey you moved your fitness ball further down your leg in the challenge the more weight on your arms the more muscle work done with each pushup.

                          One great thing about doing chin ups from day one is as we lose weight we are lifting less weight each chin up so our reps can increase dramatically even without very much imporoved arm strenght.

                          woo hoo Jimmie Jo gold! I really think you should push this week for a new color for ADBB typing cause our gold is that blinding yellow right now

                          did my Lifting and cardio today.
                          got fasmily coming starting Sat so things will be hectic taking care of mother and refing the sibs. I got one that can't shut off her work mode and tries to manage everybody every minute we are all together to accomplish her wants. Could be WWIII at our house by Wednesday. see I'm planning to handle it for 4 days before I lose it!

                            2big, i can't stand using yellow for gold! stinks, doesn't it? maybe i'll start a petition. lol

                            i got in 7.8 miles today. i won't make the 1000 miles by years end but i am happy to report that i have biked 348.4 miles since july.

                            2big, i don't know what i am going to shoot for in the pres. challenge. i haven't read up enough on it because it just didn't apply to me at the moment. when i logged my biking into today, it says i am going for the platnuim and i have 80,375 points. i need 500,000, i think it said. jack said when i reach that number he'll take me out to eat.......... sheeeesshhhh what a guy. lol

                              that is what Wannabe rich and Barb and Iu have been moaning about and it gets worse when you get rolled in the preformance challenge cause you need 1,000,000 points to earn it geeeez. I got over 270,000 pionts toward mine but still need more then you and Barbe combined need to earn yours. you can go to your main page on their site anf edit your profile tab to change your preformance prefferences and move to the harder challenge or restart gold,silver and bronze in your current challenge if you want.

                              The platinum was just created this yr to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the presidents physical fitness challenge and it is supposed to be a gold medal earned for each 10 yrs.

                                i think i'll just stick with the platnium then. i have to say, going to a million points would probably just do me in. 500,000 isn't going to be easy. that seems so very far away. i would imagine alot of people get lost because they just lose interest. maybe not, but i think i might tire of it all. i'll continue to log stuff but i am sure it's going to take me a good long while to earn the next award.
