    Sorry Jimmie I didn't see your stair post yet..I will be joining!!! I should trythe pres challenge thing too when I have a chance.


    I've been keeping up with my routine, with the exception of last week whe I only worked out 2 days.

    I've been running 3 to 4 days a week, for 1.5 miles. 20 mins of pilates 3x week and the gym 4x a week, both weights and stairmaster. Good to see eeveryone else is still going!

      i have missed you in here! good to see you are keeping up for the most part. i lay off a couple days a week too.

      i have started climbing the very first mountain. i pick up a penny at the bottom of the stairs and deposit it at the top. i have done 32 flights now in 2 days. i have to do 360. i am on my way! the pledging flights thread is in the exercise challenges, it is a sticky.

      i did pushups, crunches, biked for 30 minutes and ball squats

        i am in the ball push up challenge again this month
        i will lay off the crunches this month and concentrate on the pledging flights and the bike.

        i am staying steady on.

          Nice to see you again Sadie!! Good to hear you're still 'on the move'.

          Jimmie... 32 flights in 2 days is great! You'll be at the summit in no time, with lots of pennies to show for it!

          Still walking and exercising and now also well on my way up Big Ben. Nice weather for it all too.

            been a couple of days since i reported in here. i'm keeping on track. i really want to get the silver medal so i am working more on the bike. did 30 minutes yesterday and 30 today. also sticking with it in the push up challenge. dropped the crunches for this month. did some arm and leg work too. in general, keeping up with everything.

            big news! i decided to just count the flights that i do in a repitition. i did 11 flights today, one after the other! i am very proud! i have to tell you, before i lost the weight i couldn't get up a ladder one time without my knees giving way. this is such improvement!

            sal, how is you big ben climb coming?
            sadiejen, are you coming along on your climb up kilamanjaro?

              I DID IT!!!
              i did all 14 flights at one time! yippee for me!

              got 10 minutes of biking done and 24 ball pushups today.

                woo hoo a 14 flighter woo hoo and a talladaga winner too.
                Welcome back Sadie

                Sallyseachange those pjs have to be washed in the machine and dried in the dryer by her but she can't remember how to do it so I have to show her how every day even if there ar4e no other dirty clothes to wash right then. Our water bill is astronomical and really grates on my enviornmental nerves but short of cutting off the water or breaking the machine and listening to her whine all day about it there really isn't anything I can do about it. Atleast she washes them LOL I had a favorite pj shirt and their are pics of me in it at christmas from 2-4 as the shirt rides up from my hips to just barelly being a top and I had to sleep in it every night so I guess i inherited it from her.

                I've been moving mulch and treadmilling with gym time too. I don't get to sit on my ball as much though but shoveling and loading 45 cubic yrs of mulch has to count more.

                  Wow Jimmie, 14 flights all in one go! That's major puff!! Good for you!

                  2big... sounds like you have many frustrations with your poor Mum. It's so hard looking after people we love but who are no longer really 'themselves'., so I really applaud your patience. Hang in there; I'm sure you're doing a fantastic job and one day that'll be a huge comfort.

                  My mother died a year and a half ago and to this day I regret leaving on a trip just before her stroke when I had a feeling I should have stayed, because she was not herself at all. True, I left with her doctor having given me the green light, and there were lots of good reasons not to put off the trip; also, I had a good safety net in place... but I still feel guilty about it and that kind of guilt colours ones life. So my feeling is, keep on doing all you can while you can. Hugs.

                  Ok... am still doing the usual walk/exercise/dance routine. As for Big Ben, well it's been going a little slower than I'd hoped. Two unplanned days out of my usual routine and place put paid to a few flights. Hope to make it to that minute hand by Sunday though.

                    Did my gym workout to day. My Gym closed but one of the other mega gyms absorbed all the members at the same contract terms with the owners blessings and the other new in town gym is offerring to absorb us too so i need to go check out both gyms and see which I want to be a new member in. All I can say is wow are they big since the one has the freeweights on the 2nd floor and no elevator I think i will just be joining the one story one even if it doesn't have a pool.
                    sallyseachange I feel for you as i too have that issue with my dad's death as the last words I said to him were hang up and call 911 you need to be in the ER right now. the woulda coulda shouldas will haunt me forever.

                      it's nice that you will have a choice in gyms, justright! nice of the other places to take you all in. i know you got the knee problem so the one with flights, like you said, will probably be out.

                      i look forward to joining the "Y" that is about 1/2 mile from here. maybe jack will walk it with me when we join.

                      i got in my pushups. i moved the ball to my knees. for a short girl, that isn't far but holy smokes what a difference! those last few on each set nearly did me in! lol
                      also rode my bike. i lowered my speed number to a 4 instead of a 5 so i was pedaling faster, an average of 11.3. i'm use to going about 10 mph. also did the flights, some leg lifts and some tricep work.

                      sal, i wish you could join us in the ball challenge.

                        2big... you hit the nail on the head. Woulda coulda shoulda is the absolute right way to put it.

                        Your new gym(s) sound amazing. Let us know which one you go with. And one has a pool? That's great. Not many gyms here in Italy have pools, and for me that would be a great incentive to join one.

                        Jimmie you're right... I really must order a ball soon! Sounds awesome (and exhausting). I keep procrastinating as have a hugely busy summer coming up and am up to my ears preparing at the moment. But I will... I willl.... (not sure where on earth I'll put the thing though!!)

                        Keeping to the exercise routine. Walking these days is a real pleasure... weather sunny but cool so early in the morning. Air feels like champagne!

                            use the ball as a chair or you can uninflate it each time you are done using it and store it empty under a bed.

                            Didi my gym workout on the approved gym. they play loud rock music in the one gym as it caters to the "hip" young crowd. I'll be wearing my ear plugs there LOL. I like the set up and equipment though.

                            Lots of yard and house maintnenance to do this weekend too.

                                Hang it from the ceiling like a disco ball???? You know, people have suggested I hang my bycicle from the ceiling before now; but an exercise ball... too funny!

                                And 2big... I suppose you could count the pumping up as exercise if using a manual pump!

                                You guys are demolishing my excuses! Next time I place an order from nAmazon or Ebay...I promise!
