are you referring to me and denise?

sadie, i feel the slackerness! is there something in the air? refresh my memory if you spoke of this before but do you wear any kind of a brace for your knees? i mean one of the elastic band type of things? i don't have the knee problem i use to have when i was heavier but i've often thought i should be protecting them a bit while doing things.
the bike is not bad for me. i know what setting i can't go beyond without hurting so i just don't go beyond those boundaries.

sal, your's is simple to reply too..... good for you for being on track.

2big, good to see you home. i think i was thinking monday because of the challenge report. lately all the days have run together anyway.
sounds like you had a not so bad choice of foods available. and got some good work time too. did mom miss you?

i've been slacking quite badly lately. not in the mood for anything, but i'll finish the 6WEC without being slugged. i rode 8 miles yesterday and got some ball pushups in and a couple other things. i'll bike again today to finish out the challenge.
i want to get busy on the flights again. that really makes my heart pump. i guess i'll get on that monday.

actually I was referreing to I left Wed so thursday friday and maybe todays early morning posts would be here buit their are only 2 posts total so lots of goalie workouts were missing here and hopefull not missing in real life was all.

Jimmie jo if your flights are outside be very careful this winter on tany of then you use cause they can ice and you will not even see it. we have a ramp and stairs off the back deck and even thought the first 2 are clear from the top and bottom for some reason when yo get about waist high off the ground the ramp and srairs are slick with ice but at 6 ft up they clear again.

no jimmie that is fine I just know OHIO isn't flat like FLA and you mioght see some nice stairs to go up in your area. When I was in PA we had stairs from one road up to another for pedestrians to shortcut and have them here too.

i don't know of anything like that around here, 2big. down home they some pedestrian bridges to go from one side of the road to the other. mostly around some of the bigger factories and around some of the colleges. nothing like that here that i know of.

to climb any steps of any worth i'd have to go into mansfield to the court house, i suspect. we got hills but in this little town the biggest set of steps outside would probably be the post office steps. i am guessing 8 or 9 steps at the most.
even the local mall is one story so no steps there either. home is good.

Sounds good 2big! Glad you didn't have to miss out on the free cocktail hour too! Welcome back! Bet you had one happy Mom, to see you back.

I spent weekend down in Anzio. Big lunch with hundreds of hub's relatives... Lots of fish... yum! Didn't get exercise in, but walked around the port and along the seafront in the unexpected November sun. Expect to be back on track tomorrow... and will have to add a day's olive picking too.

                  • Re: The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

Hey friends. 2big, thanks for checking up on me...we've ALL been sick. Ugh. And every day some new kid at day care got sick too, so even once WE we better, we were scrambling to find child care til today. Finally back to "normal". And Nicky never got any of the tummy symptoms, praise god, just got really tired and touchy for a day or two. But my poor baby Benji got it the worst and he's still not "quite" himself...and he's lost weight, I can tell, it's so sad

But there's a lot going on, I got a new job! I start on Dec 4. It's back in sales where I want to be and can make money, vs. financial/budgeting /marketing stuff I've been doing. I had to swtich companies, which is a big step after 9 years, but I've prayed long and hard about it and feel it's the best move. I'm really excited.

Exercise has been non-existenent since Benji got sick last Sunday...but even loading the dishwasher I'd work up a sweat for a couple days there. I really feel the lack though, not physically so much as the lack of "my" time...well, not time actually, but focus on something good for ME, vs somebody else's needs.

I'm at an all time low weight, probably because I got sick, and I'm still really low carb right now because, well, fruit and grains make me feel really yucky right now (bloating on top of the tummy stuff). I'm eating carrots and non-gaseous veggies but mostly eggs, plain meats, etc. Coincidentally, I've got an all day shopping date on Friday and I'll be at my skinniest ever!!!

Other than being sick, my boys are good, getting SO fun. Benji had a verbal explosion this weekend, and Nicky's getting super independant. I will do it, I hear like 50 times a day.

Hope you all are doing well, Sally I LOVE to hear fromyou, it's just so cool to get your different perspective in another country.

Sadie, hope you are taking good care, it's so easy to do permanent damage in that area, please be careful.

Jimmie? Oh, Jimmie? Oh, that's right, she's on a bike ride Hello friend!

And 2big, I'm SO glad you escaped for a weekend, you carry a heavy load and really deserve that time away. Nice hotel and spread and stuff, makes it nice. We travel a lot for Pat's job and it makes a BIG difference, just some little accomodations. I love hotels that always have coffee especially

Better get to some work, short timer syndrome is truly unfortunate
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

Sorry to hear about you all getting sick Denise... glad you're getting back to normal now though. Enjoy your shopping trip at your new low weight!

Yes, 2big... the lunch was good: fabulous fish antipasti (squid, octopus, raw fish, done with peppery salady veggies called 'puntarelle'). I skipped the pasta and rice, but had a wonderfully fresh grilled fish for seconds. Also, I decided "to **** with not having a sweet" so I brought along a Greek yogurt with sweetner.

Planned olive picking got put off due to rain... maybe tomorrow. Got back in the swing of exercise and dog walk... to the hounds' relief!

glad you are better MSNICKSMOM sorry benji is still ill. maybe exercise time can be cuddly time till he feels better.

woo hoo Sallyseachange on bringing your own.

I crawled out of bed this morning and remembered why I needed that vacation ugh. mother was up most the night. I fell asleep on the weight bench between sets of chest presses and that is bad. There I was waiting for the minute between sets to end and the next thing I know I heard some guy say boy do you look peacefull there and I hate to disturb you but.... I quickly popped off my last set and moved on.

Jimmie Jo how is the stairs and biking going? glad we don't have to worry about you falling on any icy steps like Tammarah did last yr.

Hope our busy Sadie147 isn't too busy for her exercising although resting sore knees makes the docs real happy.

hey higgies we going to get another drive by goalie exercise posting out of you?

and where are those new goalies maybe they need a little nudging again. I know not being in the exercise challenges makes ne have to remeber to hunt this one down in the exerice forum.

I'm still staying away from my running and giving my knee a break, I might start up again next week though I am brisk walking with the dog. I've decided to get an eliptical for xmas, they're not as large as a tread mill (or nearly as pricey) and i'm thinking that will be easier on teh knees. Not giving up on running though. i'm thinking I might alternate between them. Plus in winter there's not always a chance to run up here due to snow and ice.

my biggest problem is finding room to even put an eliptical..i have a sunroom I will problably put it in but it's not insulated, but i figure i can dress for it...no different than running outside thoug without the wind too i guess so not as cold. I even have an extra tv to put in there.

still keeping on track with my pilates and weights though.
