I am back to it!!! You ladies have been doing great. Sorry about your knee Mitz. Just make sure it feels OK when you try it again

Had a great time in northern Norway. Did even get some runs in so I thought I would start where I left off. Did day 1 of week 6. Appreciated that it was intervals. I think I am still a bit jetlagged and my fingers and feet were a bit swollen when I finally arrived yesterday (after travelling for close to 40 hours)
But once the run was over it was good. And it was great to run in the real runners. I had only brought my walking shoes on my trip. I look forward to the next one.

Okay, this sucked. Like really really sucked and it wasn't the distance. I ran at 6:30 am and it's already 90 degrees and muggy (am I in NOLA or the bay area?????) So I got out there and sucked on my inhaler and drug my sweaty body through hot air that felt like molasses and... I am so glad I did it now instead of waiting and trying to force myself out in the evening. Oh and I pulled something doing Te Bo again so my shoulder swing was stiff.

          Oh, Quo!

I'm sorry it sucked! I wish I could tell you that it was an isolated incident, but we both know that it's just the beginning of a HOT summer. I live in southeast Louisiana, and I know exactly what you are talking about... the air is thick with humidity here, and it feels like a tropical rainforest... just disgusting the past few days. I guess I picked a good time to screw up my knee, because I couldn't get out there anyway because it's been raining for 3 days straight. At least it is supposed to stop raining today. BTW, I think the knee is finally ready - yay!

Ugh - I've hurt my shoulder doing Tae Bo before, too! I can't believe how long it took me to get over that injury... I'd think I was good to go, try to do a Tae Bo workout, and immediately be able to tell that I wasn't OK yet. Sucked! I never dreamed that I could get so hurt, doing that.

Spinning - I am so glad that I like it! Because although there are treadmills, stationary bikes, and ellipticals at the gym, I haven't gotten on any of them. I just have an aversion to the hampster on the wheel thing... drives me nuts. At least in spinning, it is high energy with great music. The instructor guides you through intervals of harder resistance, and different speeds. She also told me that it has really helped her with her running... that she had to take off of running for a while, but continued with the spinning, and was able to go right back to her running. Yay! I don't have to be a hampster!

I did it. Supposedly the last interval run of the programme. I am going to miss those It went well but slow. I don't mind slow. In the beginning my feet felt sore - I guess maybe because I have not done much running lately.

I don't know if I could do Tae bo alternate to running. Tae bo is quite hard. I need something less intense on the non running days.

the 25 minute run felt smooth. No pain in knees or ankles and while my legs and lungs felt rusty at first they both loosened into a nice rhythm. I have a strained shoulder from the way my desk is set up at work that just isn't getting any better so swinging my arms hurts worse than weight training. I've tried to fix the problem at work but regardless of all the changes I have tried to tack together I am stuck with it until the end summer. Blessed Tiger Balm

Liv, Tae Bo wasn't bad with the running at all and I felt like it really helped the running. That said, I just switched to Power 90 (6 days a week) and that along with running is gonna be a challenge.

C25K D4W6 25 minutes. Smooth run but hot. Ran after Power 90 Sweat video for the first time. About 75% of the way through I wanted to quit, but I kept going. I feel great right now, very energized and awake.

                    C25K D3W6 25 minutes.

I did it today. More wogging than jogging for sure. I find that I need a long warmup walk or a short walk, short run, short walk before doing these longer runs. Only then can I really make it. I too like how I feel afterwards. One really does get some energy from exercising. Next week is all 25s.

C25K D2W7 26 minutes 50 seconds. It went well after the first ten minutes. I think those first ten minutes just suck regardless of what I do. I warm up with walking before every run unless I am running right after a P90 Sweat tape. Today I did more warm up than usual since I had to walk to grab the kids and then go back to the school for open house. Maybe it was just because I was tired. Now, after that ten minutes it is amazing. How is everyone else doing? Mitzi?

Yes. Went great. Half way through I realized I was not breathing very hard and thought I needed to challenge myself with a bit more speed. I like to do that next time too if it feels OK.

You're doing great quo. I saw a pic of you and the twins and you all looked great. Sorry about the lost post. Everyone lost the post during the move because two days worth of posting were not moved over.

Liv, what are your running plans post C25K? I've been looking at a lot of training programs to up my runs and was curious what you were planning as a follow up.

I have not thought much about it. I thought perhaps I would be ready to just run. Maybe increase the length of the run somewhat over the next few weeks and then maybe speed. Did not think about a programme. A programme might help because it would be something concrete to follow. Did you find any that looked good to you.
