Aw Bio that's terrible! I'm so sorry!!! Rest well my friend and rejoin us when you can. I'm sad for you...

Ahhh...C25k! So I got tired of re-doing and re-doing week 6 so I went ahead and started week 7. I ran 25 minutes on Monday so I guess that's techincally the end of week 6 and I did another 25 min on Tuesday so that's the start of week 7. Is it just me or is it easier to run 25 minutes straight than the different intervals during week 6?

Today I was able to get 2 miles in 36 minutes! Woo hoo! I really do need to work on my speed...

Well, dems da breaks! No need to be too sad....I was ticked off at first, but I've calmed down. Now I get to have my DH tend to my needs, so life is good! LOL My new workout is with the crutches, so that takes some getting used to. At least I'm getting some upperbody workouts in now.

      Have a good evening!

Bio--I was on the traditional "stair master" the kind you have to walk up two flights...lol. I wouldn't mind having one for the house. lol. Good gosh, kid! You've been banged up a bit these days. You take care of yourself and let that hubby take care of you! Gosh, I'll be thinking of you lots!!

Irish--- woo hoo! You go, girl! Attack that week 7 time and you'll be on your way! And yes, crazy as it sounds, it is easier to me to run 25 minutes than the intervals----the intervals drive me nuts!!! But it's worth the training and probably a good thing because it teaches your brain that 25 and 35 minutes isn't so bad after all---HA!!! lol..

        Well my friends...

It's been a fantastic ride with each of you. It's time for me to step back off the board during the week and see about some home life I need to tend to....and then try to catch up on the on the weekends I don't know how that will go because I feel like this is my second home and journal place to share this awesome ride. But I have to for my famiy.

I'll still be working on my weeks with C25K because I want to get to that 3 mile mark and do the Turkey Trott this fall. I'm so close to the 170s I can smell it from here----that's keeping me motivated to keep going.

What's happening is I took my DD13 to her annual phsical today and we were told she will be refered to an orthopedic doc (I think I have the right doc name) for scoliosis (I'm too tired to look up the right spelling for it, so if it's wrong, well, you know what I mean hopefully). Any ways, it's not totally devistating in any way, she's healthy and were she needs to be for her age--the doc was very impressed at least about that---but there's some emotional adjustment for all of us because the progress of the curvature is more than expected at this time. She's happy to be able to continue the sports---a relief you can only imagine for all of us. We'll see what happens from here.

Take care of you and all that you have been given!

We are blessed and have many attributes to life around us.

        Play hard!

        I'll be back soon!

Well, it's apparent that Lisa was our glue -- we've all dropped off the board after her somber news about her daughter. I'm hoping to hear good news in the coming weeks on that front as well as a resurgence of activity from the rest of the gang. We can't give up now that we've come so far! If Lisa can jog for 30 minutes, than by God, I will eventually too!

To summarize my schedule, I wrapped up W5 yesterday. I went camping with the family last weekend and still managed to wrap up W4 last Saturday in the mountains. The hills were a change from the track I'd been running on here at home, but being alone on a foggy mountain road and seeing deer grazing only a few feet from the road was motivating.

Monday I awoke early (lying in a tent on the ground just doesn't support sleeping in for me!) ready for the first day of W5. Unfortunately the podcast I downloaded didn't work right and I wound up repeating the W4 routine for a fourth day.

Wednesday and Friday I completed the 2nd and 3rd schedules for W5 skipping over the 1st schedule entirely. I was a bit surprised yesterday when the routine jumped from two 8 minute jogging intervals to one 20 minute run! Yikes. I made it, but it marks the first time I had to glance at the iPod to see how much longer I had to go. As a Catholic, I'm big on redemptive suffering, and I have to say that Lisa's daughter should be on the road to recovery as I thought of her every moment between gasps for air, especially the last 5 minutes of that run!

W6 begins on Monday so I can finally join the gang (assuming you are all still at the W6 mark). I can't imagine how much the routine will change over the next 4 weeks if I'm already at 20 minute jogs! I guess I'll find out Monday.

Lisa and Biogeek, please keep us informed about your respective medical issues. As for everyone else, I hope you are still working towards your goals and find time to report back. I prefer to know I'm not going it alone. Cool runnings to each of you!

Gosh, it has been quiet here!

Thanks, Eric. Thanks for your thoughts. DD13 is a healthy kid playing volleyball and loving life....she has yet to crack or speak of a worry. Her motto at the moment "He's taking care of it, Mom. I'm fine"....while her parents have to wait for the phone to ring with news about a specialist (we're still waiting on) and learn from this smart, faithful teenager. That's fantastic news about making it to week 5! You can jog 30 minutes....it is possible! Did I read that right or is my sinus cold getting to me...you did the C25K while camping???? Woo hooo! Nice job!

I've a sinus cold at the moment that I'm trying to keep from going to my lungs...I need them healthy to get through each week of C25K. I've been walking instead of jogging to keep up my endurance and not slack off there....I need that to get me through each workout. My goal next week is to continue with week 6, so, Eric, you'll have company there

Okay, my friends, let's dust off this thread and get it going again. There's only a little more than 2 months left until Thanksgiving and that darn Turkey Trott I got myself roped into doing with the gals from work, my DH, and a few other family members. I need to get cracking!

Replan, refocus, and get moving (there's my motto for this weekend ).

Monday began W6D1 and, thankfully, a return to the shorter jogging intervals. Yesterday I completed W6D2 by jogging in the rain. Some of my co-workers thought I was crazy since it was really coming down, but I figure I'd run a 5K on Thanksgiving morning rain or shine so why not train in the same possible conditions? (Yes, I am crazy like that!) Besides, this way I had an excuse when I came home in a soaking wet t-shirt -- the rain of course (certainly not any sweat)... Now to gear up for Friday's routine which I imagine will involve another long jogging segment.

How are the rest of you coming along? Surely Lisa and I are not the only ones planning to run on Thanksgiving morn, right? (Fine, I won't call you "Surely!")

Irish...glad to see you're still hanging around!

I'm replanning and getting refocused this week getting ready to start back on Monday...what a week!!!...and letting my lungs heal. I tried jogging last night and my lungs wouldn't work. It felt like I had a 100 pounds riding on my lungs.

Woo hoo, Eric!! Jogging in the rain! Wet t-shirt contest!

I've been so unmotivated! I have a new playlist and everything ready to go, I just need to get off my bum and start running again...Grrr....

I don't think I'll be running Thanksgiving morn cause I think the closest Turkey Trot is an hour away and I don't want to travel that far for it...

Right now I'm focusing on Halloween. I joined the challenge and I have to post a pic at the end of the challenge!! Ahhh!!!

                      Hi everyone,

Biogeek - I hope you are ok and starting to recover.

Lisa - your daughter sounds really brave, all the best to her and your whole family.

I've been awol - ill, on holiday and off the wagon. The cough I had is hanging around still and I had to miss the 5k run I had entered in London. Boo! However, I was not brilliantly prepared.

I have decided, because of health, and wanting to take it slow and enjoy it a little more (yeah right!) this time - I am going to start couch to 5k from the very beginning. I haven't done this for years, but I think it would be good for me to prepare calmly and not in a panic about some up and coming race.

Should I keep logging in here - or should I start a new thread to see if anyone else wants to begin at the same time? I like being here, but its good to encourage new runners too...what do you think? I was thinking of starting in a week or so - so would give time for people to get ready.

Alexa - you are certainly welcome to hang out with us "ladies" on this thread if you wish. Of course, you may want to start a new thread to see if there is any interest among others to begin the program and if there are no responses, you always have us as a fall back plan. Your choice of course!

Hope the rest of you are doing well. I begin W7D1 this afternoon after work. I appreciate all of you not telling me that week 6 culminated in a 25 minute jog. (Groan!) I made it, and to be honest, felt pretty good -- for the first ten minutes anyway! The good news is, between the run and 5 minute warm up I am already at 3 miles. The bad news is there's still 3 weeks to go.

I'm thinking of the same thing and debating what to do. I'll know more after tonights workout. I've still got a few errands and chores to do in the next couple of hours before I can say "heck with it all" and just go for a jog. I hope you feel better! Darn having to miss that 5k! My sinus cold is finally clearing...I think. Keep posting! I miss our posts!

Eric--- Nice job! Yeah, well, we wanted to keep the week 6 to ourselves, no sense scarying anyone off...lol.. It's worth it though. You're doing awesomely! I applaud you for continueing to go. Look how far you've come! You've gone from "no way" to "all the way"!

Like I said, I'll dust off my treadmill tonight and see how my lungs hold up. I'm dieing to get on that thing and just go. My sinus cold feels like it's on it's way out. I need to get back on the C25K horse...I miss it (can't believe it) but I do miss it!

Time to let everyone deal with their own stuff and start refocusing on me. Guess I'll be rehashing C25k back at the beginning. I don't think it'll take us long at all to climb back up the weeks, though. I'll post when I have a chance. It's been crazy for me to be able to have time to sit at the computer to do anything other than plan lessons.
