WHERE HAVE ALL THE RUNNERS GONE ?????????????

Its so disappointing; this thread used to be full of posts and now, its just me by my lonesome. Its okay though .. I'll run and I'll post whether anyone else does or not.

        Betty,
It is my plan to start running this spring. I was waiting till I had lost 30 lbs. Now I need to get over this diverticulitis flare up. I am thinking next week will be a good time to start. I already have my shoes.

        C25K here I come!

Now I lay me down to sleep; A cup of Splenda at my feet!
I'll be good and drink my water--Leave the grape juice for my daughter.
I promise to eat all my eggs, So take these bulges from my legs!
I'll eat my pork--I'll eat a steer--Just smooth these bumps off of my rear!
I'll never even look at jelly,Please take the blub out of my belly.
These lips will never taste a sweet, (Oh if I could only see my feet!)
So, please, tonite before I wake,
        A few more pounds--Whoosh Fairy--take!

I am here too...I HATE running, which is why I am determined to become a runner! I plan on starting tomorrow and want to run every day (even if it is just for a mile a day) until I build up my endurance! I will be posting every day as well!

Re: Its time to resurrect the COOL RUNNING thread!

Saturday, 10k race (6.2 miles) finished in 1 hour 12 minutes. . My goal was to finish under 1:20, and wishful thinking-wise I hoped to finish under 1:15. ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a beautiful morning to run along Tampa Bay!

Re: Its time to resurrect the COOL RUNNING thread!

Congratulations, Betty! It's good to see you back and your surgery (obviously) did not set you back so much. I am sure you love to run even more without the constant pain.

I have been a slacker with the snow and cold weather - haven't done longer than 4mi in the last 3 months... I am going for a long run this weekend, and next weekend have a half marathon in Atlanta... Needless to say, I don't think I will be able to run most of it.

                      Thanks, you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lyssie, you should be able to run most of the halfer .. just take it slow .. resist the urge to keep up with the "pack" at the beginning .. save your strength for the end when you can pass everyone !!!

                      YOU CAN DO IT!

                      Great job, pudllvr!!!!

Hmm. I figure I'll finish either way, I should be able to walk 13 miles in less than 6 hours.

Hrm. I went for a run on Tuesday, but don't remember the length. I had kickboxing and packing on Wed, was staying over at my friend's house Thurs (for early morning flight), am now being a tourist at Adena's and I have the Georgia Half Marathon on Sunday.. so I don't think I will be doing anything tomorrow either... unless I'd like to be grumpy on Sunday

                                Good luck Lyssie!!

As for me, Saturday was an 11.4 mile run. It was horrendously WINDY which I hate, but I gutted it out. Hoping for less wind next week!
