Re: Preggo, On Atkins, and LONELY IN HERE

Slacker is me. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Well my C-section is scheduled for June 4th. I'm curious how big this baby will be. My 1st was 11lb 2 oz, and my 2nd was 10lb 2 oz. I am unbelievably huge and the hernia in my stomach has popped. Which means I will have to have repeat hernia surgery. (poo poo poo) I hope you all are doing well. Sashie you and I are very close together. Mari hang in there. Praying for you daily.

Re: Preggo, On Atkins, and LONELY IN HERE

Hi gals... I don't have the heart to type it all again...or the tear supply either. So here is the excert from my journal:

Finally an update. I was admitted to the hospital again after my last post, and hadn't been home again until last night. I did spend two weeks living at my SIL's who didn't have internet, since I wasn't able even to make myself a meal, or care at all for my family. Isaac Gabriel was born via C-section at 4:53 PM last Thursday, at 2 lbs, 11 oz, and is stable in the NICU. I'm dying to see him...my heart is torn in half having to leave him there, but I will get to see him at least once a day, and am trying desperately to pump for him, though for some reason only one of my breasts are cooperating, and that only a tiny bit. He is so beautiful, and tiny, and perfect... His first two days were rough, as he was struggling to breathe. However they still didn't have to put him on oxygen, and had him on room air with moisture added to it, and a system that forced his lungs to stay open. I just can't say how much I want to be there with him... He just stole my heart.
I know I am just lucky we are both alive, but its truly killing me to be away. Gotta go now...still supposed to be in bed. Wishing you girls all the best of luck with your deliveries, and I will pop in when I can to give updates on Isaac.

Mari, You and baby are in my prayers. Hang in there. I had a scare Friday night. I went into labor with really bad contractions but the contractions were not causing me to dialate. So I was given 2 IV's and a shot of Brethane to stop the contractions and sent home. I'm scheduled for c-section June 4th at 12:00noon. P.S. I don't know if I told you or not but I'm naming the baby Mary!

Mary is a beautiful name! I'm glad you were able to stop the contractions, and go home! Every day in your womb is just so helpful to the little one.

When I went to see Isaac last night he was sleeping so peacefully, and looked so happy for the first time, it just took my breath away. He's just so beautiful! Its killing me not to be able to cuddle him and kiss him, but I know the time will come. He is having some problems with keeping his oxygen up, but mainly resolves the issues on his own without the help of oxygen. And he is having low blood sugar, which I think is from my meds. They started giving him my milk which surprised me, since I am on several meds still, and that was one of the side effects. Usually they wait until the baby is alot further along before they give him that kind of milk. Makes me very nervous, but we'll see what they decide today. I'm going in this afternoon, and want to spend at least an hour or two there. Just love him SOOOOO much!

                        Thanks Sashie!

Baby update: Isaac is now off all breathing help, no more insulin, and I got to hold him TWICE!!! He is so peaceful and content in my arms, its hard to put him back. Although two days ago, while in his incubator he had a serious bradycardia (heart slowed severely) and I had to shake his little hand, and keep saying "Isaac...ISAAC" until he started going again. That shook me up majorly. He is now receiving my milk every 3 hours, and is just doing fabulous. I can't wait to see him again tonight. My days totally revolve around going to see him!

Whoooohoooo!!! Its getting closer! Way to go Baldskinny! I'll be looking forward to your birth announcement!

Isaac is back on the nose tubes for breathing. It has some fancy name, but I can't remember it. All I know is its not oxygen, just forced room air. He was having alot of desaturations, and needed a little help. He is now 3 lbs 2 oz. which is music to my ears! If he keeps gaining like this, he'll be home in no time! Might not go see him tonight, as we're under severe storm warnings. It will be hard to miss him.

Re: Preggo, On Atkins, and LONELY IN HERE

Good luck on the C-section! I hope all goes well for you. 10 days left and counting down till you get to hold the new baby wooot!

Mari, when do you get to take him home? My boys were 8lbs + without any major problems (usual jaundice, bit of breathing issues from a fast delivery with my second due to pre term) but nothing to keep them in the hospital over a long period of time. I cannot even imagine what you and your family are having to go through right now. I know when they took my second child away after birth and kept him in ICCU (think thats it) over night I freaked out. I couldn't sleep and honestly with the whole birth being so fast and all, I couldn't' remember what his face looked like. I didn't get to see him until the next day. Even though they assured me that everything was going to be okay with him I couldn't help but be worried. I don't know why they wouldn't let me go see him now that I think about it.

I hope that you are hanging in there and being strong. My heart goes out to you and your new baby. We are here if you need us!
