Hi...to anyone who may pop in. I was so excited that I could come into this forum now, only to find it deserted. I'm hoping now that the holidays are over, maybe a few more will come along and we can help each other get through this.
I am now just over 11 weeks along, and looking forward to starting my 4th month! My morning sickness is gone, my energy levels rising, and after a two month binge session, I'm working on getting back on track with 100 carbs a day. I haven't actually made it through a whole day yet, but compared to where I was, its definitely better. I gained 15 pounds in the first three months...NOT GOING TO KEEP GOING THAT WAY!
This is my second child. My first one, I didn't know I had PCOS, and got pregnant after a few months of trying. My pregnancy was normal up until 12 weeks, when my blood pressure started to sky rocket, my weight really started to sky rocket. By the early birth of my son at 30 - 32 weeks (not sure where I was due to his in utero growth retardation. He only weighed 2lbs. 3 oz.) I had gained nearly 100 pounds! My last appointment last week I found out my blood pressure is creeping up, and my weight obviously was too. Now I'm working on fixing that. My doctor refers to my son's birth as a nuclear bomb, and says to avert a second one to get back on Atkins...which I did.
Hope some more moms-to-be pop in soon. It would be neat to hear how you're all handling this exciting time.
