Coconut oil is suppose to have anti-aging and anti-cancer benefits, but I don't consume coconut oil for that reason. I like it because it doesn't go rancid like other oils.
Whether it really does have those health benefits or not, I really can't say at this time. I would need to do some more reading and determine whether the research was sound.
You would have to be careful, however, in not overdoing it! I would add a vit B complex to your current regimen. Chromium is nice, but that's a "fine tuning" product. I'd rather see you start with the basics and work your way up.
Basics include a good multi-vitamin, B complex, and flaxseed/primrose/fish/other omega rich sources. After that, comes other minerals such as calcium, magnesium, other vitamins & minerals that may not be addressed in the multivitamin or at very low levels.
Since you're just starting, I wouldn't add more to your regimen at this point in time. After you're in the habit of taking supplements consistently and you've kept a journal or at least have an idea of how you feel when you're on supplements, you can then decide whether to take away or add new supplements. For example, I can not tell that Co Q-10 supplements do a darn thing for me. I know what it does in the body, that it is a necessary molecule within all of us, and if we're healthy, we make it within us. Since I can't tell a difference, I am going to assume that my body makes enough so no need to add it in. On the other hand, I CAN tell a difference when I don't take my vitamin B complex or my omega/fish oil supplements so I make sure that I never run out. You may be different, so try to keep track of what works and what doesn't. No need to waste money, right?
