Sorry Studel...I don't know about that. Maybe ask your pharmacist?
I'm choking all my vitamins/supplements down daily! A love/hate relationship, but one I'm going to stick with!
Jo--I know what you mean. Those things are horse pills.
Still on track with mine! I added L-carnitine to my daily supplements about a month ago. It DOES seem like I have a lot more energy for the gym, and am able to work out more strenuously. And I've been losing inches like mad. But it's pretty pricey...not sure if I'll buy another bottle when this one is gone, unless I can ascertain that my boost of energy and loss of inches is because of the stuff.
I'm getting mine in every day.
This morning they announced on the news that the Canadian Cancer Society is now recommending that adults in Canada take 1000 iu of Vit D as it's now proven to be a major preventative in cancer....in postmenopausal women, but they're still recommending all adults in Canada take it, as we're a little sun-deprived. So, will add that to my repatoire!
Bio....is 1000 iu the same as 1000 mg?
Wow i haven't reported in here in ages! Probabaly because i've been less than stellar with my vitamins..and i'm normally very good. We've been renovating our kitchen so it's really thrown me off my routine with vitamins and food as well. But' i've been trying to get better!
Jo has Jack noticed any improvement since taking the glucosamine?
MorningGlory, I saw this report as well and thought it was really interesting. As much as i hate the thought of taking one more pill..they mentioned colon cancer as one of the cancers it can help prevent, my mother died of it so i'm probably going to start taking it. Problem is i was at shoppers tonight and they were completely sold out of it! guess everyone is running out and buying it all up lol.

sadie, he commented to me a couple weeks after i started giving him the supplement that his legs, knees, feet and so on, all his joints, weren't feeling as bad as usual. i had not told him what i was giving him. he never asks, he just takes them. i informed him at that time what he had been taking and we've kept up with it ever since.
his job requires him to stand on concrete all day. this use to kill him. he always hurt and he's saying now that things are not hardly bothering him at all.

JUST BECAUSE IT'S LEGAL DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN EAT 3 HELPINGS OF IT. REMEMBER PORTION CONTROL
Unfortuantely, it's not. IU stands for "international units" and in this particular study, they used 1100 IU. To make things even more tricky, each vitamin, mineral, etc has a different conversion factor when converting IUs to milligrams. Just remember not to go over 2000 IUs if you decide to take Vitamin D, whether in the D2 or D3 forms.

I haven't checked in for a couple of days, but I'm still on track taking my vitamins and supplements.
I too being a sun deprived Canadian have to get out and get some Vitamin D to add to my list.
It so angers me that here in Canada we can't buy L-Carnitine Tartrate. I just don't get it frankly. None of the online distributors in the USA will ship it to Canada either because of federal laws outlawing it here.
I wonder why if its okay for our American friends to take this, then why not us right next door here in Canada...sheesh.
Guess I'm going to have to get some next time I make a trip down to Florida.....c'est la vie.
