    I'm sooo sorry everyone I have been MIA I have been having some really bad stuff going on. I have a severe eye infection and basically I am grounded by my doctor he said no doing anything till they find out what's going on with my eye so I feel like such a couch potato. GRRRRR!

    My 10 K run for the Central Alberta Emergency Womens SHelter is on the 16th so I pray that I'll be ok for that. I am excited for my run but, this eye thing puts a real screw into things.

    How is everyone elese doing. I am down to 210 so I am pretty happy, I missed the Weigh in I need to subscribe to the thread so I remember to post. I didn't forget about you all I got side tracked LOL.

      Sarah:

      So sorry to hear about your eye infection. Those can really be nasty. Have they done a culture of the eye yet? They really should so they can know for sure which antibiotic the infection is sentive to and will get rid of the infection for sure. It is your vision that is at stake. Be sure and follow your doctor's instructions to the T.

        I weighed in and measured myself this morning. Bad news and good news. The bad news first: I was up 2 lbs. Everyone tells me I'm gaining muscle weight - I hope that is true, I don't know. I'm wondering if it's the rung 3 I went to. I'm going back to rung 2 with the reduction in 5 carbs and see what happens. The good news is I lost 3.5 inches again this week. I guess the exercise is helping me lose the inches even though I gained weight. Go figure.

          Sarah; that sounds awful, I hope your eye infection goes away quickly. Did they rule out conjuctivitis?

          Punkin: congratulations on the loss of 3 inches, that is great! That's more important then the number on the scale anyway, great work! I'm sure it is muscle weight, the same thing happened to me the first week I started to exercise really hard. Your muscles superhydrate with water! In the long run this muscle is really going to help you burn more fat quicker!!


          This week I am down to 242.5. That's about a 2 pound weight loss since last week. Not too bad! 19.5 pounds lost total. I want it to get down to 242 though so I can officially say I lost 20 pounds lol. God I can't wait to get out of the 240's!

          Hope everyone else's weigh in goes how they want it to go!

            Hello! I am back from my two week vacation in New Mexico. I did very well and managed to stay focused on my goals and frankly, just knowing that I had to report back to this board and my fellow atkineers kept me legal! While I realize that we are weighing in only once a month, I DID weigh myself this morning and I managed to lose 4 pounds while away!! My weight loss has been slow all along, but I am delighted with this loss. Truth be told, with all the food I passed up over this vacation, I was hoping for a bigger loss, but I will take this!

            Good to catch up with everyone - let's keep on living the life and getting smaller!!

                No, Fightingthefight weighs in once a month because that's what works best for him. Originally I thought we might try weighing in every other saturday, but then it seemed like everyone wanted to weigh in every saturday, so that's what I started to do too.

                So, I think most of us are weighing in once a week on saturday - but by all means, do what works best for you individually


                Doris; Welcome back and great job!!!! 4 pounds in two weeks is wonderful!!! And on top of that, think of all the weight you lost by NOT eating those foods! My way of thinking is, if you ate a lot of the illegal stuff, you'd probably have gained a few pounds, and then have to lose then all over again. Therefore you lost a few "invisible" pounds as well. Congrats!!

                  It's FANTASTIC that you were able to follow the WOE while you were on vacation for 2 whole weeks and lose 4 lbs. I don't know how you did it. I have trouble going out to eat for one meal. I'm learning though. But a vacation. That's just amazing.

                    I a sooo excited I can run today and I need to with the 10 k fast approching I don't wanna be totally lost in the dust if I cna't get it done/ If I have to crawl accross the finish line I'll finish it darn it and well, that's all that matters.

                    Way to go Mary that's how to work it awesome I am sooo Happy for you and 4 pounds to boot that has to be the best thing ever. Way to go!!

                    Punkin it's a learning process like you said I have to think every day if we are out and about if I will need to bring extra stuff or if I'll have what I need. It never hurts to have something onhand just in case.

                    Like for this run of course they have a big Pancake Breakfast OF COURSE hopefully they have sausage and eggs and bacon then I'll be set but, I'm going to bring my own food just in case there is nothing for me to eat. I think I will get a bar jsut so I have something handy. This is not a thing I usually do but since I am on OWL it won't hurt. I am also going to bring cheese and some other things. But, I have learned the hard way having nothing to eat and starving to death not worth it.

                      Thank you all for your encouragement! OK, I lost while on vacation, but now I am in my home and some bad habits are calling to me - namely, the atkins bars that I have saved for a rainy day in the cupboard. So, I now resolve not to listen and to refocus!! I do NOT want to risk the great results of the past two weeks! OK, I have said it out loud. I am committed to do this!

                        We were away for the weekend so I missed the Saturday weigh-in. Stepped on the scale this morning though and am SO HAPPY to see a four pound loss!!!! I'm off to the gym to continue the downward trend.....

                          I dropped back to induction for a couple of days to regroup and start over. After 2 days I'm back in ketosis so I'm going to restart my OWL rung 1; added veggies with 5 added carbs a day. During the 2 days on induction I had about 10 carbs a day so I'll increase it to 15 carbs. I dropped the 3 lbs. I had gained back for what ever the reason. I plan on staying on each rung for at least 2 weeks. I really want to find out that level of carbs I can eat and continue to lose weight so I can stay there and steadily lose. Guess I just need a little re-enforcement that what I'm doing is heading in the right direction.

                            Congratulations Yankee, that's wonderful!!! Congrats to everyone else as well!!! Goodluck on returning to induction, punkin, I hope you find your CCL!


                            How's everyone's exercising going? I'm still going strong on the treadmill and the xbox game, but am thinking of adding something new to the mix. Any suggestions? I was considering maybe Tae Bo?

                              Today was a great day I ran it was kinda a crappy run went 5 kms so hopefully I will do better then today tomorrow. I am going to run outside tomorrow hopefully I can do the entire 10 k then I will drop the milage for the days comming up to my run.

                              I was down 2 pounds today to 208 so I am pretty happy, this is great I have been losing pretty steady.

                              Any how glad everyone seems to be doing ok.

                                How is everyone today it must be a good day to be away from the computer hope everyone is doing well I am doing pretty well the heat is bad but, still all right.

                                I don't know if I posted yesterday but I ran 5 kms did really well it was very hard though but, I still did it and that's what counts.
