Thanks for the inspiration and the pat on the back. We all need that!!!! Sometimes it's the reading about your running that gets me moving. The old "if she can do it I can do it" thing!
Physical limitations are a PIA! I have trouble with the lining of my spinal cord becoming inflamed and many years of ignoring numbness from disc troubles has caused permanent nerve damage in my left leg. So... balance is a big issue as is pain and I have to be careful what I do. Swimming is good but I get more of a workout in less time on an elliptical trainer so that's what I do. About 30 minutes will cover four miles and then I do some weight training to help strengthen my back - mostly ab work with arms thrown in for good measure. All totaled it's about an hour. Sometimes all I can do is the elliptical.
