Oh that is a good idea to find a butcher who will make sausages for me. The town I am living in has at least five butchers. Maybe more. Surely at least one of them would do it. I hope, hope, hope.
No Waitrose in this area but there is a Morrison's about 12 miles away. My choice is Asda, Tesco, and Summerfield's. There is also an Aldi and a Co-Op.
Look for "Bratwurst" in Aldi. Roasting sauasage - Tasty and cheap. The Germans have them with mustard and "Pommes Frites" (Chips) with Mayo on them.
You cant have the chips. I just have the mayo with the Bratwurst!
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
he said, 'Don't count calories.'

Atkins makes exercise mandatory - I took up cycling - see last pics at 203lb.
Lidl also sell bratwurst made with just meat and spices - cheap and tasty! they sell small ones the size of chipolata sausages as well as larger ones too.

Now I need to figure out where to buy flax meal or flax seed. Is it called something else here?
I am feeling very confident that I can make a success of this WOE this time. I am collecting recipes and making shopping lists.
One more question. Do any of you have to deal with the fact that your partner can eat anything and everything and remain stick thin? When I was on Atkins four years ago, I was single. I just didn't have high carb food in the house. I can deal with the candy around the house because I have never been a candy eater. I'm worried about the other food like puddings, potatoes, pasta and such over the long haul.
Flax seeds are also known as linseeds here in the Uk. I get mine from Julian Graves - the health food shop. YOu should be able to find them in your local health place.
With regards tot he partner situation. When I started on Atkins, I was single and didnt have the problem of other people eating stuff around me at home. Now however, I have a gf who is exactly how you explain, she is skinny and doesnt have to worry about what she eats. However, I am so engrossed in my whole new lifestyle that it doesnt bother me. I remain strong at all times.
I hope this helps a little?

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!
Just thought I would post and let you know I bought the Bratwurst at Aldi. They are delicious. I started on induction last Saturday and so far so good. I feel terrible but I know that will pass in a few days.
Yesterday I read the label of every jar of horseradish sauce in Tesco's. They all contain sugar. Does anyone know if there is a brand that doesn't have sugar and if so, where can I buy it? I can eat this stuff like soup I love it so much.
I am on my 14th day of induction and I am down six pounds. Yippee!!!
I could make my own but I haven't even seen any fresh horseradish in the stores. It is too late in the year to plant my own but if I have to, I will do so next year. Although I wonder--you can plant carrots this time of year and get a winter crop. Maybe I could do that with horseradish. Does anyone know?
I have never seen fresh horseradish for sale in Uk but did buy a pot of horseradish plants in the summer which seems to still be alive though the snails seem to be eating half the leaves of it!
I bought 'grated horseradish' from either somerfields or Waitrose (cant remember which as it was a few weeks ago) which has no sugar, just 83% horseradish, veg oil and citric acid with 7 net carbs per 100 grams.
Rich - do you think your Dad might know when to 'harvest' horseradish? I dont want to dig it up too early and ruin the plant. Is it a one-time-only thing or will it come up each year?
I am not a gardener by any stretch of imagination!! My DH calls my flowerboxes a 'Hospice for plants to die in'!!
