Re: Clean induction as of January 1st

      Hi,

I'm near the end of day 4. My legs feel sore, probably because I did a lot of stairs today, cleaning out the basement for some remediation works on the fundament of our apartment block. It's amazing how many old boxes of stuff I bought were down there (warranty issues). Got rid of quite a few of them and moved most of my stuff out.

Had 3 eggs for breakfast, a serving of weisswurst (bavarian sausage, no sugar) for lunch, and I am looking forward to a cabbage and meatballs stew dish this night.

Still have to struggle with getting in enough water. Adding a little ascorbic acid helped tremendously.

Achievement of the day: I made date pinwheel cookies for my SO without licking my fingers or craving the tiniest bit!

My calves are killing me, and I'm not sure why. I'm drinking tons of water but maybe I need to up my intake. I'm still struggling to get enough fat in my diet. I'm not helped by the fact that I don't really care for dressing on my salad, and of course I can't eat cheese.

            Hey madpoet,

have you considered potassium as a supplement? Sometimes this helps a lot. And can you posta days menu (what and how much) so we can give you some ideas on what to improve?

Paul, my husband doesn't like salad dressing either but he does like it when I take some Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a little wine vinegar, and then add a package of Splenda. Its really pretty good and ofcourse legal.

Madpoet - up your calcium intake. I had a problem with the calf muscles aching too until I upped my calicum. It will take care of this. The potassium suggestion is good too. I tend to get tired from low carbing and potassium takes care of that!!

On another subject. Today is day 4 for me and I still have induction flu. Still headachey & body achey. Is it usual for it to last this long? I don't recall how long it lasted the first time around. I'm gonna pat myself on the back and chalk it up as I have a lot of sugar bugs to kill so I guess it's gonna take as long as it takes to wipe all the sugar nasties out of my system.....

Re: Clean induction as of January 1st

                    Hi Folks,
I"m still hanging in there. Had a social event yesterday and the food was there. I avoided the temptation however I drank several diet cokes. So my weight this morning was same as yesterday.

Also today at work. I started a BIGGEST LOSER contest. I've already gotten about 10 wanting to join and I'm expecting some more.

                    The rules are as follows:

                    BIGGEST LOSER IN 2006

Join in the campaign to drop a few pounds, get some exercise, and basically get healthier in 2006. We’re having a 12 week contest to do just that.

                    Rules are easy.

                    1. We’re using the honor system. You must report your weight Monday along with percentage lost.

                    2. Two divisions – male and female. Anyone – co-workers, spouses, kids, can enter.

                    3. Contestants each contribute $2 dollars a week for 12 weeks – male/female winners split the pot. (just an idea…let me know)

                    4. Contest begins Monday, January 9th, with the 12 weeks as follows:

                    Week 1: 9-15 January
                    Week 2: 16-22 January
                    Week 3: 23-29 January
                    Week 4: 30 January – 5 February
                    Week 5: 6-12 February
                    Week 6: 13-19 February
                    Week 7: 20-26 February
                    Week 8: 27 February – 5 March
                    Week 9: 5–11 March
                    Week 10: 12-19 March
                    Week 11: 20-26 March
                    Week 12: 27 March – 2 April

                    7. Use the attached sheet to turn in your weekly progress, and GOOD LUCK! Had a Spreadsheet by date for logging weight, percentage lost, various measurements.

Watch out about that wine. Or maybe it is the way I cook with wine. First of all, the wine has to be good enough to drink else don't cook with it. Plus, maybe this is my problem, You have to drink as much as you put into your dish......hmmmmmmmmmmmm I think I see my errors

                                Hey ADBBers,

Mind if I join? I started Atkins January 04, lost a slow 40 lbs over a year period - probably due to me being at the time a 48 year old woman, whose metabolism had slowed way down. I had maintained the 40 lb weight loss until just recently and put on 9 lbs. I started induction again on 01/02/06. I still need to lose 30 lbs. One thing that Atkins taught me back in 2004 is to control my appetitte. During this 2 year period I have rarely pigged out. Atkins taught me control. That's a good thing. Good luck to you all. I'm on day 3 and doing good. Hey, and Mack, I like the wine too!
