      Hey Girlfriends,

THIF....I've had a long week. Hope everyone is staying away from the Halloween candy.

Catrina..How did your PT appt go?

Marty...I am going to check on the mixes.

Sherri....Hey girl, I just realized that you've lost over 100lbs from your highest weight. WOW!!! My son weighs about 80lbs and I tried picking him up....thinking that this is how much weight I was carrying the first time I did Atkins.

        Hey everyone!!

Sherri, how is it in Oregon? Mountains? Cold? I've been to Washington, DC; Maryland; New Jersey; Indiana; Chicago; Tennessee; Ohio; Alabama; Atlanta; Virginia; West Virginia; and Florida. Thanks for the advice on the custard cups. I'll have to look for some of those this weekend if I get a chance.

Tomorrow I meet my old high school friends (for the first time in 17 years). I feel better now that I've lost some of the weight. A month ago I would have been too horrified to meet with them (with that high weight). I'm not where I want to be but much closer than I was.

Marty, when you fix your journal let us know the name so we can visit. Notice I said "when" not "if". BTW, I saw your grandbabies on my journal page. They are absolutely adorable. I bet they're spoiled by you. Speaking of journals, I guess I'd better log into mine. LOL!! I've just been sooooo tired.

Hey Kassoria, how are you today? My PT was ok. I'm sore and can barely move. What's so sad is that I only did a minimum amount of exercise. He said I'd be sore because I was working those muscles that are being directly affected by this. Good news...he said the bursitis will probably clear up as my back gets stronger. I found out I have lumbar lordosis (abnormal curvature or as some say "sway back") that is making it worse as well. My life is so grand! On to the foot. My toe is sliding in and out of the socket. Isn't that a lovely thought. I have Morton's Neuroma. I can't explain it. All I know is my foot is beginning to atrophy and that's why it developed. Now, I have to go to PT three times per week. Just send up a prayer that I will get well. The cause of these problems: 3 car accidents (was rear ended 3 separate times at stoplights). Plus, the stomach surgeries (no stomach muscles) does nothing to help the situation. Still, I have faith that my back and foot will be restored to working condition.

Tasha, Lily, Tracey, and Jen....where are ya? We miss you. Come back!!!!

Okay Ladies you win... I have a journal now. "my journey to thin". I will work on putting it on my siggy page tomorrow.

Kat: Hate to hear your diagnosis (sp). You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am glad to hear your mom is coming along nicely. Good to see our prayers are working. Now it's time for them to work on you. Yes, I spoil my babies every chance I get. I do love being a gma. Have a great time with your friends.

Kass: Let me know what your think about them. I'm going out to dinner tomorrow and I'm going to take them with me. Wait until I order tequilla and water on the rocks.... that should get some looks. Don't remember seeing where you're from... spill the beans.

WOW is right Sherri. Unbelievable on your weight loss. I had not noticed that in your siggy somehow. Okay, since I have made my journal page you owe us a picture. Everybody has a pic but you. Nice to know what everybody looks like, especially my friends.

Guess I best go to bed. Just want to say thank you girls SO much for being there. You don't know how much you mean to me on this journey. I don't know what I'd do without you.

Thank you for the comments (regarding my mini me). She's 6 going on 30. She honestly thinks she is a little adult. LOL!! She is my heart. Thank you for the recipe. I'm trying to pre-prepare myself for Thanksgiving. I didn't come this far to go in reverse.

I'm doing much better--thanks for asking! My surgeon did a lousy job, and I'm really unhappy with the results, but I'm not letting it get me down. He's lied to me time after time. I have to wear surgical wraps for 5 more weeks--they are itchy and hurt.

My sister left on Thursday! I love it when she comes and love it when she goes. We both have lived alone for more than 20 years, and right now I live in the smallest place I have ever lived, and the walls started closing in after a while. She kept telling everyone I didn't trust her cooking, and about all the stuff I cooked ahead in self-defense! She tried all of it, and loved every single dish! The other good news is I wasn't killed by her driving, but she reached a new high with scaring me to death! I will never, and I mean never, ride with her again. It was music to my ears when the doc told me last Monday that I could drive again.

This must be your only child. They all think they are an adult by the time they hit kindergarten! She would be my heart, too, I just love kids--all of them--even the little brats!

I know you will do well through the holidays. You have your act totally together and I know we will be seeing skinny pictures before long. Keep up the great work. This is one of my favorite threads. I read it all the time, even when I don't post.

I am doing much better! Thanks for asking! My meals were so much better, my skinny little non-cooking sister wanted to eat them all! She loved everything! I still have some left, thank goodness. I still can't do much for the next few weeks. I can't lift more than 10 pounds for the next 4 weeks, so there goes the big turkey! I'll be doing a turkey breast, instead.

Good Morning Ladies! CATRINIA- It's beautiful on this side of the Rockies. If you ever get the chance, you should check our the West Coast. Lots to see and do. Is that a high school re-union you are going to? How Fun! You'll be suprised at how everyone has changed. It'll will make you feel comfortable when you see just how much they have. KASSORIA- Yes, I have lost alot of weight. When I began Atkins in 2004 I weighed right around 340 lbs. I lost 100 pounds the first ten months then. The weight just melted off. By July of 2005 I reached 219 lbs. My lowest on Atkins. Unfortunately I let go of the atkin reins and started allowing foods higher on the rungs, and the weight slowly started coming back on. I didn't have the support of this board. I didn't know it exsisted until I joined in May. I managed to lose 25 pounds of the 55 pounds I gained back. I'm trying to get the rest off by coming here and paying forward of what I've learned in my journey and to do Atkins correctly for life. I have about 30 pounds to go until I reach goal. I've always said, losing the weight isn't difficult but maintaning the weightloss is when the work really begins. MARTY- So glad you started your journal hon. As soon as I can, I'll post a before and after picture of myself. My computer isn't equiped for it at this time and I'm so computor illiterate that I'll have to have help. I can tell you that I'm 5'10.5", with long, long highlighted auburn hair, green eyes and I'm big chested. When I was younger I resembled Brook Shields, so I was told anyway. Hope that helps a little anyway. Well today I'm staying home and getting caught up on the house. We were going to take a drive over to the coast. About a three hour drive, but my DH and I decided we needed to buy heating oil for the winter first. We went to get groceries yesterday and I bought meat ant vegies. Lots of chicken and lean gr. beef. Also some artichokes, asparagus, speghetti squah, avacados, lettuce, and cucumbers. That oughta hold me for a while. I can't believe how expensive groceries are getting because of the price of oil. Whoever thought that a gallon of milk would cost more that a gallon of gas. Gripes my @ss! Well, that's enough of that, just a little vent there. Hehe. Wishing all of you here a wonderful weekend. SUNNY- So glad to hear you are on the mend. I've read some of your post. You have done so well with your weightloss too. I could learn a few things from you I'm sure. I'm glad to see you here with us. Take care everyone, HUGS!

Today is my 8th day after my cheat with the cake 10/26. I noticed a 2lb gained after the cake and this whole week was spent working that 2lb gain off. Hopefully I will start to see some more progress.

Cat...Good to hear your appt went well. I'm hoping you won't be sore for long. I wonder how many of these diagnoses will disappear after your weight loss? Weight does a lot of damage to your body..as we can all testify to.

Sunny..Glad you are doing well. Sorry about your "dummy doctor".

Marty...I'm sure that will be funny to see you pulling out your own drink mix. By the way, I am from sunny CA. The bay area near Oakland and San Francisco. The grandkids are adorable!!!

Sherri...HMMM Guess Brook better watch out...move over Brook a new Sherri is coming to town. LOL

I've just gotten in not too long ago (9:00) and I'm so tired so this will be brief.

Sunny, I'm sorry about the whack doctor. I'll be sending up some prayers for you.

Marty, how's it going? Did you have your drink? I'm always the DD (designated driver) because I don't drink. Don't think I haven't been tempted though.

Sherri, how are you? I'm looking forward to putting a face with the name.

Kassoria, how are you? Did you lose the 2 lbs.?

Ok, I went out. I thought they'd have steak (buffet) as they normally do but nope. So, I have had bacon (breakfast), pulled pork and salad with ranch dressing (at lunch), and dinner was a taco salad (from a restaurant) sans the shell. I am worn out. Not everyone showed up. However, the people who mattered to me most showed up and we spent several hours together after the get-together. We're going to try to plan an evening (with just us girls) at a hotel where we can spend the night and just chit chat. My water intake was bad today...don't like public restrooms, therefore I didn't hardly drink anything (about 40 oz. of water). Still yet, I had a great time. I'll post a pic that my daughter and I took at the event today. I was going to leave her with a babysitter until the big alligator tears started flowing so I just had to take her with me.

I hope everyone had a blessed day! I'll speak with you tomorrow.

Big alligator tears...hmmm they sure can change from a mini-adult to a kid at the drop of a hat when it suits them, can't they! She is so adorable! Does she have grandpartents close by??? Bet they spoil her to pieces--I know I would.

Marty, yes I needed that. I just enjoyed the day and my time with my friends. I've missed them so much over the years. Thank goodness for myspace (where we found each other again). Don't weigh yourself this week. Even though, logicially, you know it's TOM...it could still affect your total psyche (as it does me) and make you depressed. Maybe it's just me that gets depressed over those numbers!!

Hey Sunny!! The only grandparent my child has now is my Mom. My dad is in New Jersey (not close to him). My grandparents both passed 3 years ago and my baby was very close to them. However, my Mom makes up for it all. She's got Tashiana so spoiled that I don't exist when she's around. LOL!! Yes, she does know how to work me over with those tears. Shame on her!! Oh, btw, I've added the pic in my siggy!!

Sherri, I know this may sound mean, however, I was glad I wasn't the only one who had put on weight. I didn't feel so out of place. Our official reunion is in the next 3 years (20 year reunion). I plan to be one hot babe by then!! LOL!!

Well, must run to the grocery and prepare for the coming week. Later!!

Oh, I was craving sweets so bad today (must have been something hidden in the taco salad). Therefore, I fixed the Mock French Toast (http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/mock_french_toast.html) . I knew it wouldn't be sweet enough (to make the craving go away) so I mixed 2 oz. of cream cheese with a packet of splenda (melted it just a bit) and spread it on the toast (I didn't have any syrup although I found a carb-free syrup online recently). Well, the combo of the toast and cream cheese was delish!! I felt like I was cheating. I know it sounds weird but it was truly a satisfying experience. LOL!!
