He told us about eating at soup kitchens. He went inside and paid enough to feed all the people, but went back out and stood in line, like the rest. The very first place, he said as he got in line, the guy in front of him turned to say something to him and vomited on his foot! I would have been out of there like a shot!

Our candlelight service tonight was beyond beautiful. We had 650 people packed into a 525 seat sanctuary. Well, about 50 were seated in the great hall or standing. I'm glad I had a seat in the choir loft so I could see what was going on. I forgot how hot it is up there and wore a heavy velvet long skirt and heavy sweater and then had on the winter choir robe over top of that. Wish you all could have been there.

Cat...you are really shrinking. Lookin good.

Ok, I went to my mom's tonight and she is cooking up a storm.

Fried Turkey. baked turkey, ham, curry goat, curry chicken, 2 diferent types of roasts, potatoes, mac n cheese, greens, dressing....so much.

We are expecting over 30 people througout the day. She ia slao ordering these gourmet cheesecakes. I am going to eat all legal food, but I really want some of the cheesecake. We only have them once a year. HMMM, I will probably have a piece and get back on track.

I bought some L-glutamine. Maybe that will help while I am smelling the cakes/pies.

My son is begging me to open up gifts tonight. I will let him open up two small gifts.

Thanks Sunny and Kass! My stomach and back are my major weight carriers - used to be my lower half until childbirth. I'm just ecstatic over the progress I've made.

Sunny, what did you fix for Christmas? Something yummy I bet.

Kass, I hope you stay strong at your Mom's. I've got it easier. I'm at home and not fixing anything tempting. I am going to try some sweet potatoes this evening (on Rung 8 now). I'm only going to eat a small amount.

Marty, I hope you're having a great Christmas!!

Sherri and Sweets, hope your Christmas is great.

If you're on the nut rung, you've got to try this. It's called Nutty Poundcake. It's made with almond flour. I made it tonight. It's delicious. Below is the link and pictures I took of the cake I made. I sliced mine in 8 slices (not 5). My almond flour had no carbs so it was only 2 carbs per slice. I have some almond meal flour that I'll use next time which will bump it to 3 carbs per slice (different brands). I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!

I had some carbs but small bites of food. I didn't over do it and I am happy about that. I mostly filled my plate with greens and cabbage and meat......then I had a couple of bites of mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. But I was already full which made me only want bites of the non legeal food

So needless to say, I did better than I thought I would considering all of the temptations.

I didn't make anything but a cran-raspberry version on that Jell-O cheesecake recipe that Kass made and some more of those crackers. I have still been feeling absolutely crummy, so when my brother invited me over, I went. I took stuff for my breakfast today and spent the night. We had prime rib, green beans, cole slaw and lots of veggie trays and dip, cheese & cold cuts trays. I wasn't very hungry and did very well. Of course there was mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole and all kinds of desserts, but I didn't even want to cheat. A couple of times I almost took one bite of some stuff, but I decided it wasn't worth it.

That looks very good. How could almond flour not have carbs??? All it is is ground up almonds and almonds have carbs--no way around it. Bob's Red Mill is the brand I use and 1/4 cup has 6 grams of carbs and 3 grams fiber. That cake recipe should get anyone through the birthday or wedding cake temptations. Linda also has a really great frosting recipe.

You are doing so fantastic! You are going to catch me in a short while!

After not cheating at all through Christmas, I was very sad with what I weighed when I went to the doctor today. The whole appointment was so depressing, that I almost decided to chuck it all in, but by the time I got home, I was over it. I fixed some yummy calf liver and onions.

Here are some pics of my son and my niece on Christmas eve.

Your little niece is so adorable and your son is handsome (he's adorable, too, but probably wouldn't appreciate being called that). He looks a lot older and taller than he did in the last picture. He's almost as tall as you.

Sounds like you did really well, considering! You will get right back on track and keep going down. We're all in the love handle challenge--we have to keep going down!

Okay, girls, I didn't get any good news at the doctor's visit, today, so I'm going to have a short pity party and then get back in gear. Also, my nephew died on Christmas Eve and that has me a bit bummed, though he has lived most of his life in Wisconsin and we were not close. He was born on January 1 and was the New Year's baby for the year 1950 and I was born 10 days later on January 10th. I had 9 nieces and nephews when I was born!

Hey Sunny! I'm sorry that your appointment did not go well. However, what do doctors really know? You've proven them wrong so many times. Is there anything we can do to help? Drive to Virginia to cheer you up? Please hang in there!! You will succeed! I know you will.

                                Kass, love the pictures!!

Oh, Sunny the flour I used came from a whole foods store (in bins). It doesn't look like the Bob's flour (have some of that too). I was told that the hulls/almonds were both ground up and that the fiber content from the hulls lowered the net carb content. Who knows? Just know it's delish and so worth it. I figured the carb count (with 8 slices) with the Bob's and it came out to 3 carbs per slice - which is not bad. It smells just like regular pound cake and almost tastes just like it. Love it!!!

I hope everyone had a great day!! Sunny, you're in my prayers. I pray the angels of happiness and peace will visit you tonight!
