Ok, I jumped in there and made a $15.00 donation to ADBB yesterday! Anyone know when that status (supporting member) will show up?

Sorry I have been outta touch for a couple.... All this painting and being sick too. Not sure if it's just a bad cold or a combo with the paint messing with my sinus as well.
Got the livingroom/hall completed yesterday.. only one more room to go. Not until next weekend though. I'm putting up my Christmas decorations this weekend.

You guys are doing wonderful. I am proud of all of you. I have lost the pound gained and another to boot. Gives me 8 more pds for the Christmas Challenge. 24 may have been a little too much... We'll see. I'll get close though.

Kass: I'm glad you "educated" people in their thinking. We all need it from time to time. My daughter had a speech problem that really acted up when she was nervous (oral reports in front of the class). After many years of getting nowhere with the Dr.s see finally got diagnoised by the school in 7th grade. Although we hated to give her the stigma, it was great that they had to allow her to regive any reports to just the teacher if see did poorly in front of the class.

Oh Well, back to work.. thought you guys could join me and my salad...

          Hey Girls,

Catrina...way to go. You will be in a size 12 at the rate you are going. You are pure motivation and I will tell you that very often. You have stayed the course and it is paying off. Also thank you for becoming a supporting member.

SUnny..Hope your procedure goes well and your doctor's visit. How 's the shopping coming along (for the little guys). I think that is such a great idea too help out others for the holidays. I am talking my son into donating some of his new unopened toys that he got as a bday gift. He is so gracious when receiving gifts (happy about that), but once we get home, if he's not into it, he's not opening it.

Sherri/Marty...hey girls hope you are having a great day.

Hi guys! I know I said I would catch up tonight, but my procedure went horribly wrong today and I am in a lot of pain. I'm going to do a copy and paste of the explanation I sent my family of what went wrong THIS time. I am currently having a pity party all by myself.

I just got back from UVA from a giant mess-up. Much worse than the mess-up two weeks ago. Right after the doctor told me I had a valid lawsuit against the surgeon that butchered me and suggested that I pursue it, he did a big goof with my procedure. He pushed the needle in too far (into my spinal cord) and shot the contrast dye directly into my spinal fluid. My throat started to tighten up and I almost vomited right there on the table. He told the other doctors in attendance that he had torn my spinal cord a bit and the fluid would leak for a few days. They had to stop, and never injected the medication, so it did nothing for my neck pain, but make it worse. Then he tried to fix it with coffee! He sent the nurse for coffee and made me drink it. He wanted me to drink Coke, but I refused. I walked in and got on the table myself, but they lifted me and took me out on a stretcher. I had to lie flat and rest for a while, while they kept trying to feed me and bring me stuff.

He tried to give me a prescription for narcotics, but I declined, yet again. He tried to up my other RSD drugs--declined. I never got to ask why I had to consume a lot of caffeine. After I said I never drank sodas, he asked how much coffee I drink. He said two cups a day wasn't enough. I had to drink more. He also said I had to push water, which I already do. Then, the nurse insisted on dressing me. I've known her for a long time, ever since going to Pain Management, but that's a first on being dressed. Now I have another appointment for December 7th for the third attempt. I didn't realize until I was on my way home, that the doc said it had to be two weeks before they tried again and December the 7th is only 8 days from today. And, the nurse went with me to make sure it was scheduled correctly. Oy vey! I have an appointment on December the 6th with the good neurologist.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

You know it's been 12 years since I worse a size 11/12. Man, that will be a good feeling to wear that size again (no, I'm going for the single digits this time). Thanks for your words of encouragement!! It means a lot.

Do you want me to drive there and beat the doc up for you (just kidding, just trying to put a smile on your face despite the circumstances).

I was scared to come off induction but needed more variety (I get bored with what I'm eating) so I wouldn't cheat. However, you are doing good then go for it. I'm on OWL Rung 6 now but have not eaten anything off that rung yet. LOL!! I'm doing good with the nuts (that you eat). I plan to try some legumes this weekend. I'm praying I don't gain or they're going out the window!! I'm happy you've joined us!! Look forward to hearing from you again.

Not okay by a long shot. This quack is calling about every other hour. I will probably have to go back to UVA tomorrow for an epidural blood patch, if it doesn't close on it's own by then. He called in a rush prescription and my brother is going to get it right. I had to double up on several other meds today. I am getting worse by the hour. I think he is as scared as I am.

Ok, send me the directions and I'll be on my way. I can add him to the list of people to get drop-kicked. This supervisor at my job sent an email about me to me (was supposed to go to someone else). He tried to recall the message about 4 times after he sent it but I still got it. I forwarded it to my supervisor and branch manager. He said that what I wanted him to do was "pure stupidity and a collosal waste of his time". If I had seen him yesterday after I read it (knowing he didn't want me to see it) I would probably be job-less because I would have tried to beat him down in the hallway. I'm much calmer today.

Anyhow....I'm worried about you Sunny. Do you need to go to the ER? Please keep us informed of your condition or I'll be sitting here stressing.

Thanks! I am getting better since I doubled up on some meds and got the script for baclofen. I was really getting scared. I was having tremors until I almost couldn't walk, chills while sweating profusely, blurred and double vision--the works. I have family and a friend checking on me every so often. The ER I would have to go to is 40 miles away and I have two people clearing their schedule and are ready to go at a moment's notice. He has been trying to down-play what he did, but I know that injecting that radioactive contrast dye directly into my cerebral spinal fluid was really hard on my brain. I already have horrible neurological problems from the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), from which I suffer.
Directions are really easy--don't even need MapQuest! Just get on I-64 Eastbound and don't get off until exit 218-B--there are signs all the way to UVA. Well, you do need to get off at exit 220 off I-81 North/I-64 East, to stop by my house so I can meet you!

Hmmm I just got off the phone with the doc for the 40th time today. He's changing his story about what went wrong yesterday and said if I had to go into the hospital over the weekend through the ER, I should tell them that my symptoms are from an exacerbation of my RSD, and not from what he did yesterday. He was trying to explain it away by telling me how tiny the needle was and how small the dural hole is, etc. He wants the pain doc on duty to page him or beep him so he can explain. He wants to cancel the next attempt on December 7th and not do it at all! Hmmm...

Well, I need to take more meds and hit the bed again.

                              Sunny!

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Sunny, my prayers are with you. If you go to the ER don't do what the doc has asked. He's just trying to cover his own tail instead of trying to benefit you. I pray you will be so much better in less than no time. "By His stripes we are healed".
